2:08and if Michigan were to win that game against Denver they would be playing the winner of Wisconsin in North Dakota in the final on April 11th so April 9th or 11th could be the two days in which Michael hage's season ends and then at that point they'll be able to see whether or not he goes to Laval on a PTO and then signs his entry level contract or signs his entry level contract right away and joins the Canadians for what is probably the last two games or the last game of the season against the islanders and or the Philadelphia flyers. And again on Michael hage I mean we spoke about it the options for for him and his camp whether it's the Laval rocket or whether it's the Montreal Canadians on an ELC and he kind of pulls a lane Hudson maybe plays one more game and they'll see what the future has in store you know I think I I've expressed my opinion clearly on the subject but the Laval rocket I mean are we talking about a team that that maybe can look towards the coming weeks and expect some

3:10habs prospects to join their camp and deepen their talent pool for a playoff push and a calder here that I mean that's the expectation right this is an excellent expectation. Yeah well they've already done so for those of them paying attention with Luke middle stat they signed him to his entry level contract for next season and then sign him to an HL deal for the rest of this year so he's been a nice addition to the to the to the blue line for the Laval rocket and you know a lot of questions that I've had is well can the Canadians get anybody else to join them you know join the Laval rocket in their push well a lot of questions have been asked of late especially now that he signed of Owen Pratt's you know what's going to happen with Owen Pratt's can he join the Laval rocket further playoff push can he join the Montreal Canadians further playoff push and the reality is such his entry level contract only kicks in in July so he cannot join the Montreal Canadians for for their playoff push and I don't think anybody's surprising hearing me say that he's just not ready and he

4:15wouldn't get any games he could however good that the the the Branford Bulldogs not go all the way he could again because he did it last season sign an amateur tryout to join the Laval rocket for the remainder of the rockets playoff run that is something that is possible even though his entry level contract starts next year it's common practice so something to keep an eye out for when it comes to everyone Pratt's but for all intents and purposes everybody that follows juniors you know expects the Bulldogs to go into lengthy playoff run in fact they may in fact sweep the Sudbury wolves in the first round right off the bat so we'll see what happens there but I think Owen Pratt's to Laval is only a possibility if the Bulldogs get shocked some way down the OHL playoffs but on the flip side a player who did sign his entry level contract effective this season is one Bryce Pickford his situation is a little different Bryce Pickford obviously we know Sean you know one of the highest scoring defense of all of all time in recent history I will say in the CHL

5:28um he signed his entry level contract in December when the signing age was 19 that means that as long as he doesn't play 10 NHL games his contract slides to next year but because he did sign his entry level contract he could be called back up to Montreal or sent to Laval once medicine hats season is over in the WHL and at the moment of this recording medicine hat who has and who had a near 50 point lead on the Regina Pats in the WHL tied one one they lost their most recent game against the seventh seed Regina Pats I still think they beat Regina in a seven in the series but maybe cracks in the armor starting to show for for medicine hat that could potentially allow Bryce Pickford to join the Laval rocket for a playoff run as well and that would add another offensive weapon on the blue line for them to go along with Adam

6:29Angstrom and Luke Middlestadt in that regard. You know there there's a three other prospects I want to dig in on when it comes to you know the talent pool and the possibilities are we going to see it will Laval Laval rocket fans get to enjoy the next wave of Canadians future talent the next wave of Laval rocket talent I want to get to but as always a reminder if you're with us smash that like button hit that subscribe button daily content as the Canadians push for the playoffs as we grow to 15,000 subscribers with star and to me go you know as far as some of the prospects you know we touched on Michael Hage there you touched on Bryce Pickford right off the hop I think in Owen props as well I think I really like the mix you know Pickford with the offensive talent and we already spoke about about, you know, the incredible goal scoring he's season he's having as a defenseman. Owen Pratt, who's, you know, who plays that physical robust game. Another defenseman left shot granted, but I really like the mix.

7:29Um, what about that? I mean, it's obviously very deliberate. But I think if I had to put a dollar on it, I think I'm most excited to see the player that Bryce Pickford turns into. What about you? Of course. When you see that kind of, you know, rare offensive ability everyone wants to see that. That's what scoring goals is why we watch hockey is it not? Right. So if there's a player that's really good at doing that, you definitely want to see him play. Um, it's not sexy to be a defensive defenseman though. Uh, they usually help you. They really do help you get across the finish line, don't they? Um, but yeah, I agree with you. I think I'm most intrigued to see Bryce Pickford and Laval that it be this spring or in September. But that is a guy. If he could have a really strong season in Laval, uh, next season, it could go a really long way from making him, uh, you know, an exciting prospect to a legitimate blue chipper and potential steal it in the third round. So definitely something to keep an eye on, because the Canadians have been helping to bolster the defensive core in Laval.

8:30But now, Sean, all eyes are on the forwards as well, because the Canadians have already done a pretty solid job. Uh, you know, in drafting and bringing in some forwards as well. But now we're really starting to see them kind of ramp up at this time of the year, where they're, you know, signing some of those free agents out of the NCAA. Uh, while they also have a couple of guys that could be joining them later on in the season. Could one of those guys be in, I remember, I mean, he was quite the popular player feels like a year ago, Vincent's rorer. Um, playing overseas and the next step and the seed mark, let's start with the season he's having. And then let's go into the next step for Vincent's rorer. Yeah, offensively a little bit of a train wreck this season compared to the last season. Um, you know, and currently in the playoffs right now is Zurich. They won the championship in Switzerland two years in a row. Um, so, you know, chances are that they go on a lengthy run, but there's a significant possibility that he would be able to join the Laval.

9:31Rocket as soon as that ends. He's already on his entry level contract. He signed it in the summer effective for this season. So he's already burning this year anyway. Uh, it's a tactic that the Canadians used with Oliver Kapanin last year when he was in, uh, when he was in Sweden. It's something they use with Emil Heinemann back in the day as well. So not outlandish helps you get to their second year of their contract quicker and makes them nonoffer sheet eligible. Though, I don't really think that's going to be a problem with rorer. But rorer could be that kind of player because he plays against men that you could be, you know, in Switzerland, which is a really good league. That you would be able to stick on a bottom six for Laval and really kind of get that energy. He's able to play on the penalty kill. He's able to play on the power play. He brings that energy. But, uh, listen, I'd be lying to you if I said he's had anything but a disappointing season this year in Zurich. And I think the Canadians are very excited to get him into North America. Because they feel like his style is probably more optimized for playing in an NHL or a HL style game than it is playing over season Europe.

10:37You know, looking at the little about rocket, you know, and the season they're having, it seems to me like it's a tricky little spot, you know, deep talented team and pushing for a colder, I mean. I mean, the priority of if they do bring in one, two, three pieces into the system. Well, it's a tough spot, right? For, I mean, the priority, are they trying to reward for a season well played and well competed and trying to win a colder? Or is the priority coming from up high saying, hey, listen, we want to have a look at Bryce Pickford or we want to have a look at Vincent's roar. We want to have a look at a one cross. We want to see them on a play some games this spring. I remind myself, remember Tyler Thorpe last year, he was brought in at the end on an ATO and they played him for like a couple of games and then he didn't play in the playoffs. Like almost at all, but I don't believe you actually played at all. He didn't play a game in the playoffs. He played one game for the little Val rocket. I think it was their last game. And then after that, he didn't play in the playoffs. He just stuck around. That might be exactly what you end up seeing, you know, if an own process season comes to an end soon or, you know, if Bryce Pickford and the medicine had tigers get upset, that that's probably what you end up seeing roar on the other hand.

11:52Again, depending on how far Zurich goes, they can go as far as may, but I'm confident. I believe that the Val rocket will still be in the playoff hunt by then. And unlike years prior, the Canadians have 100% control of a roar. Right. Last year they didn't, but this year they do. So the Canadians may be like, okay, you know, you already did well at the world championships last year in May. So we want to see what you can do with the AHL playoffs. And they're going to reassign him to the little Val rocket. They have full control over them now. It's not, it's not a guessing game. So I think Roar finds himself with Montreal, sorry with the little Val rocket as Montreal reassigns them there. And that could be a nice boost for the bottom six because he does really play that early branding Gallagher-esque style hockey. I believe that he could be that kind of player that surprises in North America. I'm not saying he's going to be, you know, the high end, you know, second line scoring player, but a guy that you could potentially see on a fourth line in the NHL in the future.

12:56This guy's motor is relentless. And I think he will be well appreciated in LaValle, but, you know, it's a question of timing. Right now, the, the playoffs are in full swing in Switzerland already. I fully expect him to be available by the end of April, if not the beginning of May at the, at the latest. You and I have spoken at length about ways to get the Montreal Canadians to the next level. And, you know, there are multiple, multiple talking points when it comes to that question. But one of them that keeps coming back again and again, right, is the, the, the texture of the composition of the Canadians bottom six. I think, you know, watch any of our live shows, see the chat. One of the constant comments is toughness, sandpaper, as you alluded to on a previous live episode. How do you feel? How would you, how would you describe it to the Habs fan watching this today, listening to it. Are they giving themselves multiple outs in terms of filling out that bottom six with those intangibles, that sandpaper, that toughness, though, those type of character players.

13:57Both aspects. Yeah, that's why you draft Florian Jacque. That's why you draft Tyler Thorpe. That's why you draft Hayden Papanicus. It's those kinds of players, right. And then you, when you have the opportunity, you try to sign some of these guys as free agents. And that's, you know, that's exactly what the kid with the Canadians and specifically the Laval rocket did with Dylan Bentley, who's another six foot four character coming out of the NCAA, you know, played two games with the, with the Laval rockets since jumping over from the NCAA. And I think Vincent's roar is another one of those gritty style for it's the only difference between him and the guys that I just mentioned is he's 511 and around 175 pounds, but that guy pound for pound is one of the toughest players you're ever going to play against. He's really one of those athletic players that is very difficult to contain. So someone to keep an eye out on, you know, and one of the other guys that I've been talking that I've received a lot of questions on from the NCAA Sam Harris, who plays for Denver in the NCAA.

15:01He's going to the pros and four, just like Michael Hage with the fellow Habs prospect, Kate Tom Miller. He's played well, I believe in the NCAA in the games that I've seen in this tournament so far. But again, with the log jam that that they currently have it forward right now at in Laval, like you do have to factor in that they signed, like I said, Dylan Bentley, they signed Josh Nado as well. So that's already two extra fours that they've added. You know that roar is coming as well. You know, so I would be, I would be mildly surprised though I have no information on this mildly surprised if they were able to sign Sam Harris to an AHL contract before the end of the season. But you can never have too much depth at this point, and we've seen the Canadians be aggressive in that regard. So Sam Harris is also a name that I invite people to keep an eye out on, especially considering that either he or Michael Hage are going to be in the final of the frozen four because they play each other in the semi final on April 9.

16:09Let's wrap up our talking point here as we're going through, you know, the Habs prospects and some timelines, Michael Hage, Bryce Pickford, Owen Prats, Vincent's Roar, Sam Harris, what's your educated take that again you would communicate to the Habs fan watching listening to today's episode about are any of these guys multiple any of them to get excited about seeing them with the Laval rocket. I think Roar, I think Roar you're going to see with the Laval rocket. I think it's it's a pretty safe bet for the rest that really just depends on how their season goes right Michael Hage. I've again I've said it's in the beginning I think I'm leaning towards Michael Hage signings entry level contracts and then we see where he's at a training camp next year whether or not it's Laval or Montreal or see whatever trades the Canadians make the summer right and then pickford. And Prats 100% will revolve around what happens with their junior teams do they punch their tickets to the Memorial Cup because if it's the Memorial Cup, then that's in late May and at that point, you know, you'd have to be very deep into the HL playoffs to be playing it still at that game at that level of the game.

17:23And it's very difficult to jump into the lineup when they're in like the semifinals of the age L playoffs and try to be a different smoker like it's I don't I don't think they're there yet you you would as a coach, give more rope to the players that got you than the new players that you're bringing in, you know, so I don't think that's the case. And you know one name that I've heard that I've gotten a lot of questions about just because of what happened last year in April is Alexander Jarovski. And with Jarovski, I haven't been given any indication that he'd be rushing over to North America. He's still signed for next year. I haven't heard anything in regards to there being a push for him. He's currently still playing, by the way, he's in the KHL playoffs as we speak with UFA not expected to go very far is UFA may surprise and win around, but he would be available theoretically his season probably does end. Sometime around mid April, not unlike I've been to meet off last year, but unlike to meet off his contract is not coming to an end on June 1st, so he is expected to go back and play in Russia again next year, unless there is an absolute swerve and the Canadians are able to bring him over.

18:40But again, it from what I was told the Canadians aren't in a rush per se because where are you where are you playing them right where are you going to stick them. That being said, you know, I I've rarely ever seen a Russian prospect come to North America at this stage of the season without burning the first year of venture level contract. And if the Canadians have trouble a Canadian sense of trouble figuring out where Michael Hage would fit in to the Canadians, Alexander Zorovsky would be just like Tetris at this point. He has a lot of bulking up to do and a lot of a lot more development than to meet off had at the same age to get to and that's perfectly normal. He's still a really good player to have been taken a 34th overall. I've said it before I think he's a top 10 wars case top 15 talent in the 2025 draft, but from what I'm hearing as of now things can change quickly from what I'm hearing eyes of now he's not expected to come over to North America this spring more likely than not April 2027.
