Gunfire in Birmingham: Man Dies, Suspect in Custody

0:00On March 21st, here's the latest out of Birmingham. Police in Birmingham responded to reports of gunfire late Friday evening around 7.15 p.m. in the 200 block of Lake Drive Circle-in, the northeast part of the city. They found one man shot and rushed him to UAB hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. Soon after, a second man showed up at the same hospital in a private vehicle, also with a gunshot wound. Sadly, he later died from his injuries despite medical efforts. The two victims had arranged to meet at that spot, along with two other people who escaped unharmed. Investigators say gunfire broke out during the gathering, hitting both men. A suspect is now in custody as police piece together, what led to the violence. Details on the deceased man's identity are still being withheld pending family notification.
