Guinea Dissolves 40 Political Parties, Opposition Reacts

The parties deny that and call the move unfair. This comes two months after coup leader Mahmadi Domboya was sworn in as president. He first grabbed power in 2021 by overthrowing the previous leader. Opposition figure Saloo Dalin Dailo, now living in exile, reacted strongly in a video. He called it a declaration of war and said, direct resistance is the only way left for real change. The dissolved groups include Diallos Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea and the rally of the people of Guinea from former president Al Foconde. Officials sealed their offices, took their assets, and banned their logos.
