Growing Mushrooms w/ Erin Hamilton, The Mushroom Conservatory
About this episode
Join us on a mushroom adventure! Today we’re sitting down with Erin Hamilton, founder of The Mushroom Conservatory to learn how plants and mushrooms are so radically different from one another, why we need more mushrooms in our lives and then we’re going to find out how to get one of her special kits to grow our own mushrooms right at home!
Erin Hamilton is a mushroom farmer and agricultural educator from Howell, Michigan. She and her husband Elijah have three children and together, they run The Mushroom Conservatory, where they help people around the world learn to produce their own food with hands-on mushroom growing kits. I first learned about Erin at the Mother Earth News Fair in Pennsylvania ands today she’s joining us on the podcast to chat about mushrooms!

Heather and I just returned home from a trip to southern France where we had some amazing adventures! We visited the lavender fields of Provence, drove around the countryside and sampled so much delicious food! One of our favorites was a chickpea flatbread called socca. It's so easy to make, we went and bought all of the ingredients as soon as we got home! You can find our recipe for this traditional delight on our Patreon page: www.patreon.com/smallhousefarm
