Grosco vs Costco: New Bulk Grocery Store in Penrith

It launched two weeks ago and targets shoppers hunting for deals on everyday staples during tough economic times. Both stores offer membership cards and bulk buying, but Grasco's name plays off Costco's with a G instead of a C. Costco charge is 65. Dollars for membership, Grasco's will cost $99 starting next month. Shoppers are buzzing about the lower prices at Grasco. For example, a 20kg bag of Basmati rice goes for about $37 there, $13 less than at Costco. Bananas are $1.29 cheaper per kilogram and chickpeas offer better value too. The big twist is that Grasco specializes in Indian groceries, aiming at a specific crowd but hoping to draw bargain hunters from across Sydney.
