We're back. Episode two of Grass-Fed Shark are quiz show that explores wellness trends that have jumped the shark. Grass-Fed Shark returns. The quiz show where wellness trends go to die. This episode, collagen vapes, chakra stones for intimacy and the ultimate question, can you tell Jaden Smith from a 9th centuries and master? All right, we're back. Episode two of Grass-Fed Shark are quiz show that explores wellness trends that have jumped the shark. Like a Grass-Fed one. Yes. Today's case also some wellness trends that have stuck around for a long time, as we'll see. So, three games that we're going to play. First is the shark jump. I give you four wellness products or services that have jumped the shark. Only one is fake.
1800s or 2000s is the medical claim from the 1800s or the 2000s, you decide. And then Jaden Smith tweet or Zen master Linji is the saying a tweet from the son of Will Smith or an aphorism attributed to the founder of Rinzai Zen from 1400 years ago. So, how are you feeling about Grass-Fed Shark today, Jeff? I think I'm going to do better than the last episode. Yes, you were negative a few points. I think if I remember how we ended that episode. I got a free bus trip down the hill. That's all I got. Down to Hollywood? That's yeah. That's my parting prize. All right, the shark jump. Remember four wellness products. Only one is fake. Only one is fake. So, that means that at least two are true. At least. This is true. We're trying to fool you there. Yeah, only one. Exactly one is fake. Exactly one is fake. Okay. Collagen Health Vapes, a nicotine and TH-free vape that instead
delivers collagen glutathione and l-carnitine straight-tier bloodstream via your lungs. Shock rubs. Crystal wands for intimate pleasure. Pick the stone that resonates with your desired chakra. The guru, a kitchen storage rack that uses UV light to sanitize sponges and small cutting boards. Their tagline is come to the light. Human Charger, a $180 set of earbuds that does not play music, but instead shines light into your ears to, quote, increase energy levels and mental alertness and improve mood during winter. Collagen Health Vapes, shock rubs, the guru, human charger. Well, I think shock rubs do exist, and that's not because I have any personal relationship with them, but I think I've trolled the internet enough. So, I think that those do exist. I will say,
because most technology is generally geared towards things like vaping, I would say that someone probably iterated on that and created this ridiculous collagen vape. So, I'm saying that that is maybe true also. Okay. So, now I'm down to two, which are the guru, the come to the light. Come to the light. Those are the diswashing rack. UV light sanitization. Yep. Okay. And then the thing that shines light into your ear. Yes. What's the name of that? Human Charger. Human Charger. Light plays a huge role in how we feel from our energy to our mood to how well our bodies recover. And that's one of the reasons I've made Sunlighten's infrared sauna part of my everyday regular routine. So, when I'm home in the morning, you know where to find me in the sauna. I do not think that there are any form of sensory neurons in your ear that can sense light. Although, of course, this is not even, it doesn't even matter because these things could still be developed even though they're completely worth us, right? So, but I am going to say that the human charger is not existing. You made that one up. I made it. Did I make it? Yeah, the guru. I mean, it was a little bit of a cheap shot because UV light sanitization is a real thing. This one actually comes from my landmate Matthew,
shout out to him for saying that we should have a product called the guru whose tagline is come to the light and it's a UV sanitizer. So, UV sanitizer in lube, Matthew, agrophoria. There you go. Yeah, college and health vapes are real thing. People claim it helps them get off of nicotine and THC vapes, which I guess is a small improvement. But the health problems with vaping is the vaping. So, I'm not really sure how you get around that. And your lungs are really not designed to be a vitamin absorption mechanism. So, I don't even see understand how that works. How does the fucking college and get, you know, diffused and uptook taken through the alveoli and into the, I don't think it's, I don't think that they've really, yeah, there you go. Shackrubs, you are right. A real thing. Shackrubs.com. I'll just read you. You're obviously in, in, in, in an endorser. Yeah. The Indian Jade original is made from pure
green eventurine, which is thought to be the luckiest of all crystals. I'd say that crystal is pretty, pretty lucky. Get lucky tonight with Shackrub. Human Chargers, interesting. There, there's quite a bit of research on various wavelengths, like red light helping with hearing loss. But there is some small limited studies. Sorry. That's a dead joke. Some small limited studies that should show a potential effect on bright light treatment via ear canals on quality of sleep and depressive mood among overworked employees. A randomized controlled clinical trial. So. Do they work in your colon? I don't know. I think they can just get the light into your ears. I think it's a, I think that's the next thing. Shackrubs should combine. Yeah. They should merge. I feel an M&A coming on. I'll let you take that one. All right. 1800s are 2000s.
Somewhat of a lightning round. Okay. I compiled health catch phrases from the 1800s and 2000s. You have to guess which era they're from. We'll start relatively easy. Say this, this game may be, go a little easier on you. Cleanses and purities from the system and restores natural balance. Well, I mean, I think that could be either one. It feels very 2000s. No, that one's 1800s. I mean, these are, these are condensations. How about this one? Supports your body's natural detoxification pathways. That's definitely like what just popped up on Instagram. Yeah, they didn't understand detox or a gentle purge to correct sluggish digestion and torped liver. It feels old. Just the language feels old. That one's old. But you can contrast what I found interesting in this process was there's almost always a corollary between from the 1800s. So it's
like designed to reset your gut and reduce inflammation. Right. Is the same thing as a gentle purge to correct sluggish digestion. You don't see much about torped liver or whatever. No, maybe that's your next viral Instagram ad. Simple foods prevent internal corruption. Internal corruption. This is like feels very boss to eat. Versus elimination diets reduce toxic burden. Fasting activates atophagy and cellular repair. Fasting restores moral discipline and bodily harmony. That is definitely 1800s. I mean, it is amazing that many of these concepts and even protocols fasting, for example, very, very old. They kind of like come in and out of vogue. Yeah, I thought what was interesting is like diseases caused a lot in the 1800s by excess or
stagnation and impurity and health comes from removal. They were really into laxatives back then. And then today we've just changed the words in its toxins inflammation and imbalance and health comes from elimination. I was getting nervous combining the words sort of purity and self-improvement for obvious reasons. Yeah, you know, feels a little eugenic. Yeah. I will move on to our next game. Jaden Smith or Zen Master Linji, 27-year-old Jaden Smith, son of actor Will Smith or Linji Yishwen, year from the 9th century, the Chinese Zen Buddhist Master of the Tang Dynasty and founder of the Linji School, the lineage that later spread to Japan as Rinzai Zen. And I do have to shout out Luis, our marketing manager here, who originally introduced this to us on our all-team meetings
as Jaden or ancient stoic because of your stoicism course. Well, this is that was Nepo or Nero. Nepo or Nero, yeah. I actually found that the Zen approach fit a little bit better with Jaden's tweets. Yeah. Hey, it's Jeff. And when I play tennis, element is my go-to electrolyte drink mix. Now I'm 55 years old, but I'm still running down drop shots like I'm half my age. And if I don't replace electrolytes, I basically turn into a raisin with lamp opinions. Element keeps me upright, hydrated, and occasionally capable of beating an x-div-1 stud in their mid-30s. Yes, it's true. Element helps anyone stay hydrated, not just me on the tennis court, without the sugar and other dodgy ingredients found in popular electrolyte and sports drinks. Electricity or imbalance can cause headaches, cramps, fatigue, brain fog, and weakness. Element is a zero-sugar electrolyte
drink mix in sparkling electrolyte water, born from the growing body of research, revealing that optimal health outcomes occur at sodium levels two to three times government recommendations. Each stick pack delivers a meaningful dose of electrolytes free of sugar artificial colors and other questionable ingredients. Element is formulated for anyone on a mission to restore health through hydration and is perfectly suited for athletes, folks who are fasting in those who are following keto, low carb, whole food, or paleo diets. My listeners can get a three eight count sample pack of elements, most popular drink mix flavors with any purchase at drinkelement.com forward slash commune. That is drinklemnt.com forward slash commune on your favorite element flavor or share with a friend. So that's drinkelement.com forward slash commune. So here we go. How can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real?
I know that one, that's Jaden. That's one of his more famous tweets, yes. If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him. That's Rishi. Linji. He's a Roshi, or, yeah, Linji. Sure. Zen guy. Zen guy. There we go. I am not a human and I don't speak English. That must be Jaden. Yeah, Linji wasn't saying much about English. It's a good one though. Basically, human is a general categorization. English is a general thing. He speaks exactly how he speaks he is, who exactly he is. It's a very Buddhist concept. Stop polishing concepts and trust what is before you. That sounds pretty same. That one's Linji. There is no place for effort, just awaken. That is the same. The more time you spend awake, the more time you spend asleep. That is a very Zen concept, and I'm going with Linji.
No, that one was Jaden. Okay. If you love the sacred and despise the ordinary, you are still diluted. And then the last one, don't argue with anyone about what color the sky is. I'll just go with Jaden. That's Jaden. That's a good one though. So one was a Zen master breaking monks out of illusion. The other was a teenager breaking Twitter, but same sentence length. Very different vows. It's often the case where it's the same message, different messenger, right? Different mask. This is I think what we learn over and over again. Is that some of these messages, they're like very universal, they're very timeless, and then they just get packaged up by different people and different masks. And honestly, for me, sometimes it's really my ear is partial to certain messengers and not other messengers.
Like my first real messenger was Wayne Dyer. And he was saying the same shit that people said for generations and hundreds of years and thousands of years before him, but just the way that he said it, the way he massage the words, the tenor of his voice, that really just it's sat with me. It hit me kind of somatically, almost. So I mean, I'll give Jaden a shot. Too much experience with him, but I'll give Jaden a shot. All right. Thanks, Jeff. That was a great episode. How'd it go? That's a bad shot. How'd it go? Hey, it's Jeff and I'm such a big fan of using sauna for muscle recovery, reducing stress and improving sleep.
