God's Care for His Servants, Wednesday

0:00Hello friends, welcome to the SeenPod for Kids. Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day. Let's begin our time together praising Him. Another way to think of being redeemed is to think of adoption. There are a lot of stray dogs where we live. Many of them are skinny and hungry and they have skin problems. They're lonely and scared. One of these dogs was at the post office in the parking lot looking for food. My husband and son were able to get close enough and bring him home. We gave him lots of good food, lots of love and attention and adopted him or redeemed him. Now he's our dog. We gave him a new name, Junior, and he is so spoiled he even sleeps on the couch.

1:04Because we adopted him or redeemed him, he's now living a happy, peaceful life. He doesn't have to wonder where his next meal is going to come from. And he never worries that we don't love him because we shower him with snuggles and love. That's what Jesus does for us. He adopts us into his family. When we're redeemed by him, we are his child. He takes care of us and we don't have to worry or be afraid. Redeemed how I love to proclaim and redeemed by the blood of the lamb Redeemed through his infinite mercy Is child and forever I am Redeemed, redeemed Redeemed by the blood of the lamb Redeemed, redeemed

2:07Is child and forever I am I know there's a crown that is waiting in yonder bright pension for me And soon with a sense made perfect At home with the Lord I shall be Redeemed, redeemed Redeemed by the blood of the lamb Redeemed, redeemed Is child and forever I am Welcome to hide his word, a special program where we take a few minutes to hide God's word in our hearts. Let's go ahead and get started. Let's practice saying Psalm 23 and Psalm 91. We're going to start with Psalm 23. Go ahead and say it right with me. The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.

3:09He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For you are with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Now, let's say Psalm 91, are you ready? He who dwells in the secret place of the most high,

4:10shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress. My God in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the Fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler. He shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noon day. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked.

5:10Because you have made the Lord who is my refuge, even the most high your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.

6:11Great job. Let's go to the Bible lesson. Hi boys and girls. I'm glad you're back with me today as we continue the story about Elisha in the city. And there was a Syrian army that was sent to surround the city and capture Elisha. Is he going to be caught? We're going to find out in just a minute. But first let's pray. Dear Lord, be with us as we study from your Holy Word, the Bible. Help us to learn and understand how much you care for us and how you send your angels to protect us in Jesus' name. Amen. The King of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha. And during the night they surrounded the city where he was staying. Earl and the King of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha. 7:11Early the next morning when Elisha's servant went out and looked around. Oh no, what did he see? Let's look it up in 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15. That's 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15. We read from 2nd Kings, chapter 6 last time. We're right back in that same chapter, but this time we're going to read verse 15. You might want to put a bookmark there so that every day you'll have it marked right where we're going to open. The next day. So let's check out 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15. 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15. Here's what it says. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master, what shall we do? Does he sound scared? Yeah, he sounds very scared. He rushed to tell Elisha, oh no, there's an army out there there surrounding us, what are we going to do?

8:16There wasn't a chance that they could get away, they couldn't escape and go somewhere else to be safe. Their city was totally surrounded by the Syrian army. In fact, it looked as if there was no way to escape. The servant feared that they would be taken prisoners or even killed. But Elisha wasn't at all worried, not at all. What did he calmly tell his servant? Look at verse 16. So he answered, do not fear. For those who are with us are more than those who are with them. Wait, what? Those who are with us are more than the guys outside the city. I'm sure he kind of stood there going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I can't even count how many guys there are out there. Like hundreds, maybe even thousands. And there's more with us. What are you talking about? Are you crazy? Was Elisha blind? Couldn't he see that there were no Israelite soldiers anywhere?

9:20How could he possibly say what he said? But Elisha didn't need to see the soldiers that he was talking about. He already knew that they were there. But I imagine he felt sorry for the poor terrified servant. And he wanted him to relax. It's okay, calm down. So what did Elisha ask God to do? Look at verse 17. Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. Isn't that incredible? The mountains were filled with horses and chariots of fire. Would you feel pretty protected and pretty safe if you were surrounded by horses and chariots of fire? I would. The more that you're surrounded by guards or by angels or chariots, the safer you would feel. How do you suppose the servant felt as he looked all around this time?

10:23Oh, that's what you're talking about. Yeah, yeah. Oh, wow. Look at them all. All these soldiers and the chariots of fire and horses and wow, the angels. Wow, we are. Yeah, we're protected. Can you think of another story in the Bible about being protected? Maybe what about Peter? He was in prison, right? He was even between soldiers and he was chained up there and God sent what? He sent an angel to take Peter out of that prison to help him to escape. Can God send extra angels when we need them? Yes, he can. Did you know that he would send every angel in heaven to help one of us, rather than let Satan force us to do something wrong? That's a lot of angels, isn't it? He would and he would help us when we pray. All we have to do is pray and ask God to send his angels.

11:26And did you know that in Psalms the angel of the Lord in camps? That means he camps out around those who fear him and delivers them. God sends his angels to protect us, to keep us safe, to help us in times of trouble. I'm so glad, aren't you? Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your angels that you send, to protect us, to be with us. Pray that you will help us to trust in you no matter what, in Jesus' name. Amen. With made it is impossible. But with God all things are possible.
