Faithful Unto Death, Friday

0:00Hello friends, welcome to the Seed Pod for Kids. Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day. Let's begin our time together praising Him. More about Jesus I would know. More of His grace to other show. More of His savingfulness. More of His love who died for me. More, more about Jesus. More, more about Jesus.

1:04More of His savingfulness. More of His love who died for me. Can you believe we're already at the end of the week? This week has been flying by, hasn't it? We've been learning lots of things. We started out learning about John the Baptist and what happened to him with her rodeos, telling her daughter to ask for his head on a platter, which means they cut off his head. And then Jesus there in Cana and the noblemen that came and wanted him to heal his son. Did the noblemen, did he believe that Jesus was the Messiah and that's why he wanted him to heal? No, the noblemen figured, you know what? If Jesus heals, then I'll believe. But that's not how it works. We believe in Jesus and then he helps.

2:07The noblemen figured that if Jesus would just heal his son, then he would believe. But that wasn't good, was it? Well, let's find out what Jesus did to help the noblemen and if Jesus really healed his son. Let's pray. Dear Lord, we get to open your word, the Bible, and learn some more about this special story. Help it to strengthen our faith and trust in you in Jesus' name, amen. The noblemen needed a miracle for his son. His son was dying. The doctors had done everything they could. There was nothing left to do. The son was going to die. But he needed an even bigger miracle for himself. You go, wait, what? He needed to choose to believe in Jesus and to be in his kingdom whether his son was healed or not. So what did Jesus say to him? Let's turn our Bibles to John, chapter 4, verse 48.

3:08In the New Testament, John, chapter 4, verse 48. Here's what Jesus said. Then Jesus said to him, unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe. All at once the noblemen saw that Jesus knew exactly what he had been thinking. He must be the true Messiah. What if Jesus couldn't heal his son because he himself hadn't really believed that he could? He realized that everything was waiting on him and his thoughts and his beliefs. And so he begged Jesus to help him and he knew that Jesus could look at verse 49. The noblemen said to him, Sir, come down before my child die. How do you suppose he felt when he heard Jesus' next words in verse 50? Jesus said to him, Go your way, your son lives. So the man believed the words that Jesus spoke to him and he went his way.

4:12I bet he was really excited. Now that noblemen showed that he truly believed, he knew that his son was healed. Jesus said so. And so you know what? He didn't even rush right back home to see and to check and to make sure. He waited until the next day, the next morning before he went home. Back in Capernaum that day, the noblemen's family had been watching as the precious son lay their dime. And then suddenly everything changed. His eyes opened wide. His hot skin was cool and moist. The horrible fever was gone. Everything about him was perfectly normal. I'm sure he jumped up and ran outside, maybe to play with the little puppy or to go find worms so that he could go fishing. The family could hardly believe it. What a joy! Quickly they sent messengers to tell the noblemen that their son had been healed. The messengers met the noblemen the next morning, look at verse 51.

5:16As he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, your son lives. Can you imagine the smiles on their faces? Can you imagine what the messengers said when they compared the time that Jesus said the son was healed with the time when the family saw it happened? They were amazed. They were praising God. Boys and girls, in our stories this week, who showed the faith? Did John show faith? It was kind of wavered, but then was he strong in the end? Yes. Did the Jewish noblemen show faith? Yes. Are we learning to trust Jesus? To have faith in Him? Just like these people in our stories? I hope so. The more that we learn from the Bible, the more that we choose to have faith in Jesus? To rely on Him, the more He'll do for us, and the stronger and bigger our faith will grow. Dear Lord, help us to have faith today, to trust you today, that you will grow our faith.

6:22When trials come, we will put our faith in you, in Jesus' name. Amen. Revelation 210 1, 2, 1, 2, 10 I will give you the crown of life Be faithful, faithful, unto death
