God of My Sister

0:00Lord, God of my Master, Abraham, please grant success to the journey in which I have come. Genesis 2442 Welcome to today's encouragement from our daily bread. He said to the senior servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, put your hand under my thigh, I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living, but will go to my country in my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac. Then the servant left, taking with him ten of his master's camels,

1:01loaded with all kinds of good things from his master. He set out for Aram Naharim and made his way to the town of Nahar. He had the camels kneeled down near the well outside the town. It was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water. Then he prayed, Lord, God of my Master, Abraham, make me successful today and show kindness to my master, Abraham. God of my Sister, written by Tim Gustafson. Amina had come to Christ in a country where Christianity was illegal. She began to share her new faith with her brother, who rejected her appeals. Then he contracted a dangerous lung condition. Alone in a dark hospital room, he gasped for breath. He wasn't ready to acknowledge Jesus as God's son, and he feared speaking the name of Christ aloud, someone might hear him. So he called out, God of my Sister, please help me now.

2:05Suddenly, he could breathe easily and the room brightened inexplicably. His journey to belief in Jesus began that day. In Genesis, Abraham's servant went on a quest to find a wife for his master's son. First, he prayed to the God of my Master, Abraham. Why? The servant knew God had told Abraham, I will make you into a great nation. God repeated that promise, and Abraham believed the Lord, and God credited it to him as righteousness. The servant could trust the God of my Master, Abraham, because he'd witnessed the reality of Abraham's faith. With our words, we invite others to follow Jesus. More important, however, is the way we live before them. The reality of genuine faith in the one true God speaks volumes. May the God of Abraham and of Amina use our lives to draw others to him.

3:09Let's pray. Lord, may our lives reflect your faithfulness and love, so clearly that others are drawn to know you. Use our words and deeds to guide those around us toward the hope and salvation found only in Jesus. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
