'God chose Trump': president reads Scripture at MAGA Bible marathon

0:00On April 21st, Evangelical Christian supporters of Donald Trump gathered at Washington D.C.'s Museum of the Bible for a week-long Bible-reading marathon featuring pastors, presidential cabinet secretaries, and members of Congress, called America Reads the Bible. The star of the show is the president himself, who is assigned to read verses from the book of Chronicles, despite not identifying as a Christian and being notoriously steeped in sin. Participants in the event insisted to me that by arranging for Trump to read from the Bible in public, they were helping to redeem him so he could be used by the Lord. To love our fellow men, what's so great about the word of God is no matter where anybody is in their state of life, God's heart for that person is just redeem them for an ultimate eternity, but so that they don't have to live in the hell and misery of bitterness and hatred
