Girl, 14, Escapes Hotel Assault, Sparks Safety Concerns

0:00On March 18th, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three men at a hotel in Toro Molinos on Spain's Costa del Sol. Police say the attack happened in the early hours of Saturday after she was forced to take drugs and held in a room. She escaped by climbing from the room's terrace to a neighboring balcony. Her parents had already reported her missing when a hotel worker heard her screams and called for help, leading officers to rush to the scene. All three suspects were quickly arrested. One face is charges of unlawful detention, serious threats, sexual assault, and drug offenses after reportedly using a knife. The other two, including a minor, are accused of detention and public health violations. This isn't the first such case in the area. Last summer, a 59-year-old British woman was arrested for groping a 14-year-old girl on a nearby beach. After that year, a 37-year-old Irish woman faced charges for assaulting a man at a Magaloof Hotel Spa.
