For the NFL, it's March 4th. Here's what's happening. Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an update. New York Giants fans have real reason for hope heading into the 2026 season after a rough four-went 13 loss year and three straight. Losing campaigns. The team just hired John Harball, the former Baltimore Ravens head coach, to turn things around. Earlier this week, a report showed the Giants nearly landed star cornerback Trent McDuffie in a trade, but they fell just short. Harball brings a strong track record from 18 seasons with the Ravens, where he led them to the playoffs 12 times, hit 10 or more wins, 11 times, and won a Super Bowl title. The Ravens let him go earlier this year, only because they fell short of their own high bar, not due to any drop in his skills. Giants supporters are buzzing with excitement, seeing Harball as the guy to unlock the current roster far better than the previous coach did over. Four years. Still, the team knows it needs big playmakers to contend, especially after their secondary
struggled badly last season. In the end, the Los Angeles Rams swooped in and traded for the 2025 All Pro and two-time Super Bowl champ McDuffie from the Kansas City. Chiefs. The Rams sent over a first-round pick in number 29, a fifth-rounder and a sixth-rounder and next-months-draft, plus a third-rounder next year. McDuffie heads into his final rookie contract year and could land a new deal worth about $30 million a year. While the Giants missed out, it's encouraging to see their front-off is chasing bold moves to shore up key weaknesses. Support for this DNN episode comes from our sponsor.
