Gallipoli audio diary

About this episode

100 years ago today, the Gallipoli landings took place. For the Lancashire Fusiliers, it became one of the most significant campaigns in their history as they won SIX Victoria Crosses before Breakfast on the first day of the battle. To mark the anniversary, a delegation from the regiment's home town of Bury went to Gallipoli. You can hear the thoughts of Colonel Eric Davidson from the Fusiliers Museum, the Mayor of Bury, Michelle Wiseman and Mike Kelly, former Chief executive of the council.
