1:03Welcome back everyone to The Grace Curly Show. Thank you all so much for joining us. And right now we are joined by Mike Crawford from the Young Jerks. And this is a really, really busy day in Massachusetts. So the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has officially released a statement regarding the case of the Commonwealth versus Scott quickly, the mass state trooper who was legally drunk. And because of his driving under the influence, killed Angelo Chetino, I'm sorry, Chetino. And Mike joins us now to talk about this because there were some key admissions here by the prosecutors in what's been brought by Suffolk County. Tell us what we know about this and how this changes things. We know that the, quickly, the mass state police officer who was a trooper at that point was drinking that day shortly after 3 p.m. He went for drinks with some other detectives.

2:06They said they had six drinks between them, which doesn't actually sound that much. But he did, you know, we know that they took blood and he was over the limit. And I think the big thing on this is that he was speedy. He was going 59 miles per hour and a 35 mile is, you know, zone. And basically, if you look at what happened, he even crossed the line and drove right into this van. And it's just a tragic, it's horrible. And it's a cover-up. There's no doubt about it. This is the big thing, I think, on this statement of the case from the Commonwealth is that they're showing that Jennifer Penton was told not to talk to him for several days that she was warned about this and that she gave him special treatment and she's now under indictment for what happened with Enrico Delgado Garcia. And so it's wild that there's multiple indictments with multiple cases involved in this one incident of drunk driving by a mass state police officer. And they covered it up. He got promoted after he did this, you know, vehicle homicide, you know,

3:10this death of a special Olympic, you know, special Olympic athlete, you know, type person who was going to an event. It's just, it's horrible. This is just, it's a horrible incident. And I think the big thing is the driver of the van saved his life and saved officer Quigley's life because he was driving so slow. He was paying attention. The driver was the hero in this. He saved two lives that day, actually, it looks like. Yeah, and I also want to get your read on what we know now about who knew about this, you know, who was aware of this accident. And what members, certain other members knew about this? Well, Jennifer Penn definitely knew she, she was the state police sergeant, though, which the patrol supervisor on duty at the time. She was the person who investigated it. But her senior officers, the people that were telling her not to go to the hospital, give it a couple of days before you talk to them. Those are the ones who I'd be, you know, very worried. It looks like one of them has, I believe, recently retired,

4:14which you often see when there's a big scandal. But that's the key is like, who are these other people? How many is it going to include the detectives that were there, drinking with him? What were their text messages like after the fact? Because they were above him. They were, they were detectives, some of them. And he was just a state trooper at the time. So I think this is going to engulf quite a few of them. At the state police again, it's a cover-up. Yeah, do you think any of these other state troopers who have now dummied up will be suspended? Yes or no, I mean, some of them might even retire. That's what I always, like Brian told you just retire, right? But yeah, they, some of them probably will be suspended, but they'll have rights. They'll go through an appeal process like they always do. And at that point, they might just take the earlier retirement. If they have enough vested time in the system, like Brian Tully apparently did. But Brian Tully, from Karen Reid, he just took early retirement.

5:15He's not going to get his full pension, though. That's the thing. Usually, you know, I used to advise state employees over at UMass Boston as a retirement rep. And most of state employees want to get to that 80% pension in Brian Tully retirement, early at 60%. So that tells you a lot. And I think that might be the result for some of these. The question is, do they get charged? That should be the real, do they get indicted themselves? Like Jennifer Penden has recently been indicted for lying to a grand jury. You know, is that going to happen to these state office, you know, state police officers? Are they going to start turning on each other? Are they going to start ratting first one who talks? Get, probably gets the deal. So we'll see if there are any charges related to this. That's what I would be, if I was in their position, I'd be more worried about being criminally charged. And I was about losing some of my pension. I want to read you this part of the statement from the Commonwealth that stood out to me and then get your reaction. Although evidence indicates that certain other members of Quigley's detective unit

6:15knew by the next day that he was drinking at the restaurant before the crash, there is no record that this information was disclosed in a timely way to anyone outside the unit, or that Penden ever asked Quigley about alcohol consumption. The overall early handling of the matter by law enforcement remains under investigation at this writing. What's your reaction to that, Mike Crawford? It needs to be investigated. They need to bring in, who's investigating it? That's what I like to know. Who's actually, you know, because with Enrique Delgado, Garcia, they brought in an independent, you know, David Meyer to investigate from the outside. I hope they do something like that. I hope they come clean. I hope they do a blue ribbon commission and really look into the problems of the state police because we're seeing this over and over again with a cover-up for their own. And this one is blatant. And somebody died. Somebody died. Somebody who shouldn't have died that day. And the poor family, I think they're going to have a huge lawsuit against the mass state police and some of these officers on the cover-up too. So we'll see what happens.

7:16I mean, I don't feel too positive about mass state police reforming themselves. I think it needs to come from the outside. I think the governor needs to actually wake up and address this situation in the attorney general too. Yeah, and I'm curious, you know, you talked about the six drinks between these two guys. Do we know anything about what they were drinking? Because that changes things too. I mean, six beers is very different from six vodka sodas. Yeah, no, it doesn't say in the statement from the state police or from the Commonwealth. It doesn't say what they were drinking. And it says six drinks between them. So it's like, who drank what? Did he have five drinks or the other guy had one? Like, was he doing shots? Like, that's a good question. I didn't tell us that. That seems like something you'd be able to tell us at this point. That seems like something that they would know. Yeah, but, you know, an hour after the crash, he did test over the limits. So I mean, that tells you a lot right there. So I think that's all they need, really. And the speed, the fact that he was speeding

8:17and crossed the line. And his whole response is that he fell asleep, which is not believable to me. You know, I just don't believe that, actually. I wanted to get your reaction to this story in the Boston Herald. It's by Tim Dunn. It says, Mass is the only state where the judiciary and the legislature and the governor are exempt from public records law. And it also talks about how we were named the 2026 recipient of the Black Hole Award because of this exemption. What's your response to that? And what do you think is happening here with this audit? I know we've talked a lot about it, but I know you've had Diane DeZoglio on your show before. You've had her on here while you were hosting for me. So what's your reaction to this exemption and also to the fact that now we're getting accolades for it, now we're getting awards for our lack of transparency here in Massachusetts. It's funny how they always want to talk about red states, but Florida, you think would be, you know,

9:19not transparent being such a red state, right? You know, it's known for corruption. Florida is, but it's like Massachusetts is known for corruption. And red state Florida is much more transparent. You can get all those documents from the governor's office or the state house. It's not locked down like Massachusetts. So it's funny how we tell our nose at other states, but we're actually the least transparent in state government. And what's really wild is the judiciary, you know, basically the judges are now using A.G. Campbell to block Diana DiZoglio from doing audits of trial courts and things like that as well. And she was talking about that on the show the other night. And then, you know, the big thing that was wild to me is that the A.G. is already setting the case for the next initiative that Diana DiZoglio's crew has already gathered signatures for to require them to disclose emails to disclose their information of the state house

10:19and the governor's office. And the A.G. is already pretty much saying that's unconstitutional. You know, like it's already, she's already planning what they're going to do if that passes, which it will pass. And it's wild that the A.G. continues to say this is not constitutional, the valid initiative that already passed. And the next one that will pass, when she did initially approve it in saying that it was constitutional, you don't put a ballot question on the ballot without the attorney general first, reviewing it and determine whether it's constitutional. The attorney general put that ballot initiative on their front audit. She allowed it to go forward. She said it was constitutional. She voted for it, apparently. And now she's against it and says it's not constitutional. It's just wild to me. And they haven't had a court decide on it. And the A.G. is afraid, in my opinion, of having a court decide on it. And Diana DiZoglio wants a court to decide on it. She has a hearing later this month. Well, beginning of May, actually, the first week in May,

11:20it's I think it's May 6th. There's going to be an SJC hearing about this. And the attorney general is opposing it. That she's totally on the opposite side of Diana DiZoglio and the four, you know, in the entire thing to audit the mass state legislator. Well, Mike, I want to chime in here for a minute because I've noticed and I've had mass daily news on about this. There's also this push in the city of Boston for these audits and for sort of independent commissions to figure out what's happening and to open up the books. And the excuse from both Spilka and Durkin is pretty much the same, whether you're talking with the city council or you're talking with the state, which is, hey, we already have audits. These audits already exist. We already know what's going on. We don't need more. We don't need to broaden the scope of the audits. Do you buy that? Do you think that's a legitimate excuse of like, oh, we do these every year? No, we need more. I mean, obviously, there's a lot of problems. There's a lot of lack of accountability. And again, it's protecting the people in power, whether it's the governor, the AG on the state level

12:22or the leaders of the state house or Boston, city mayor, Michelle Wu, you know, she's in charge. She does the budgeting. And that's what it is to me. It's there just kissing the ring. They want to have access to the mayor and have the mayor support their special pet project. Right. And that's what's going on here. I mean, they don't want transparency. That's obvious. And what they're doing isn't enough because there are a lot of issues. Even with the Boston police and the accountability, they have a Boston police accountability commission within the city of Boston. And the Boston police are just not complying with it. They're not even addressing their concerns, their requests for information. This is something that Mayor Michelle Wu set up. So Mayor Michelle Wu sets up an accountability group but then doesn't give them any teeth to actually investigate, doesn't back them up. And then says, we don't need any new audits. We don't need any, they're not even doing what they're supposed to do back by Michelle Wu. So it's a failure. And that's what it is.

13:22And it's just not working what they're doing right now. And it's pretty obvious. Yeah. And this argument that, hey, we already have audits. Nothing new is needed. They know that these audits are not nearly transparent enough. And they're very limited in scope of what people can see. And what we know about the money being spent for internal operations is not really something that we get access to through these audits. If you're mad about this arch or as I like to call it as someone who speaks French, like if you're upset about this, it could have been so much worse. This is Trump using as much restraint as he possibly can when it comes to this thing. He's trying to think about you. Trying to think, yeah, something original to the United States. I mean, if we're going to, it's hard Taylor. Architecture goes way back and we don't. This is to commemorate the 250th anniversary. But you know, there's architecture goes back a lot longer than the US. So we have to pull inspiration from somewhere. I guess. Okay. Well, I would rather not be France. 25:43Far-left Democrat Meja wins New Jersey Special Election to replace Governor Cheryl in Congress. People are freaking out about this. She gave this big speech. And she won by 33%. You know what she said in her speech, which made me laugh. She said, I love when people do this. It reminds me of the chiefs. Every time the chiefs win the Super Bowl, we did the impossible and we won. It's like, is it imp... If you won by 33 points, I just have a feeling it was never impossible. If you win by 33 points in a blue district to replace someone else who was blue, I just have a very hard time believing that this was ever... That you're defying the odds. But of course, they want to not only does this woman, this Bernie bro, Bernie babe, I guess you would call her. She wants to put out that narrative because it looks good for her. And now she's become this hot star and the Democrat party. But it's also to send the message to Republicans like, this is the harbinger of doom. This is a really bad sign.

26:43They should send our alarm bells to the GOP that we're going to lose. And we're going to get slaughtered in the midterms. Maybe that's true. There's a very good chance we don't do well in the midterms. I'm still holding out hope that things turn around. Today seems to be a feather in that cap. But if we are going to lose, I don't think this is the sign of it. Like she won by 33 points. I have a feeling we were never really in the running for this. That's story one. The other story that I wanted to get to today involves Donald Trump and a message to the Pope. So he's been asked about these executions that are going on in Iran. And he's been warned by people that, hey, you know, don't go after the Pope. It's not something you do. Don't criticize the Pope. I didn't know that. I thought a lot of presidents did this. But maybe this is just a Trump thing. And or maybe Pope's back in the day didn't wade so obviously into politics. But this was Trump's message when he was asked about the executions in Iran. Take a listen. I think this has cut 10 Taylor.

27:45Or maybe cut nine. I'm going to execute four more protesters accordingly, including the first women's protestors. What do you tell your wife? I'll tell that to the Pope. That's okay with it. What are you saying? Tell that to the Pope. You want to pass it to the Pope? That Iran is going to win. Is that you just hear that? Iran is going to execute four people included. I don't know if anybody is up with the whole mind. Thank you for that. Yeah, tell that to the Pope. I mean, he seems it must be frustrating if you're a Trump because anything you do opens you up for criticism from the Pope and from everybody else. But they don't have any concern about all the other violence, about all of these evil regimes. They only react to Trump's response to these evil regimes. They don't talk about the starting point of what happened. Like you don't want to mention the 45,000 people that were slaughtered. You just want to mention that Trump went into the conflict and seems to be succeeding.

28:46I don't want to jump the gun here, but that's what it looks like to me. You're giggling over there. Did you think of something that you want to try and win with? No, I'm sorry. Another text came in, said, good grief, Gray, some twice as old as Taylor. And even I know who Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow is. Tell them to get out of the 60s. I didn't know they were married. Yeah, you're pushing up on a clown from the 60s. I didn't know they were married. Yeah, you're like my brother. One time we were talking about something in my family and my brother said, what's going on with Justin Timberlake and Brittany Spears? And we all looked at my brother and we said, dude, come on now. You're living in the past, man. You're hung up on some clown from the 60s, man. We're talking 20 years now. Chris Martin, you know what Taylor, during the break, I'm going to show you one of my favorite celebrity clips, which is Chris Martin and Dick Van Dyke together on doing a late night show. It was really sweet. You know, I don't like to talk about Dick Van Dyke because I don't want scary people. Yeah. Because every time I read a headline, man, or they put up a picture of him in black and white, I'm like, don't do that. Well, you guys know that my heart's skipping a beat here.

29:46I love Dick Van Dyke. All right, I wanted to mention Gallego because I asked Matt Boyle about it. I said, there's a lot of smoke here with Gallego. What do we think representative Anna Paulina Luna got the name down finally? She is urging investigations and she actually is adding more to this and saying that there could be, there could be a lot here that we don't know about Gallego. But one of the things that I think kind of gives the game away, Taylor, and I want to find it was his response, okay? So, GOP Rep Luna, and there's no sound of this, but she accused, she put out a cryptic social media post, my least favorite kind of social media post. But now she's telling CBS news that the Democrat Gallego, the Camelier, Eric Swahwell's best buddy in the whole wide world, was the previously unnamed senator whom she said was facing very disturbing allegations. She did not give much detail about the allegations, but she said some of them are sexual in nature and some of them involve alleged campaign finance violations.

30:49She also said Senate Majority Leader John Thune's office confirmed to her that the matter is under investigation. Now, Gallego for his part has brushed off these allegations. And this is what he told reporters. Gallego acknowledged earlier this week that he was aware of rumors of Swahwell being flirty, but he later said that he never heard of actual accusations of harassment of staff or predatory behavior toward staff. Gallego also said he fell for the lies. Now, something else that he said that stuck out to me was that these are now conspiracy theorists or are flying around about him. Taylor, I don't know if these guys know it, but when you start saying conspiracy theorists, or you start blaming right wing, the vast right wing conspiracy theorists, all you're saying to people, it's like that game. You know, warmer, cold, warmer, warmer,

31:51when you come out with it, it's a conspiracy. It's a conspiracy that magas after me. I'm like, oh, we got to be so close to something coming out here. Just give it a few months. Your friend, Eric Swahwell, just did this. Do you not realize that your camel buddy last week was saying all these accusations against me are being drummed up by my flailing opponents that are drumming up these mega conspiracy theories. That was his playbook like a week or two ago. And now you're in the hot seat. And it's a hot seat because that guy is sweating. If you ever, if you watch him talk to reporters, it's like he's going to crawl out of his own skin. And now you're saying, well, it's conspiracy theorists. Oh, where have I, where have I heard this before? Oh, right. You are best friend, Eric Swahwell. Just use this same exact template. But, but I don't, I, I don't have the desire. Does it taste better? It tastes way better. Okay. You love whole milk, right? You don't have to be so adversarial.

38:04I'm giving you this platform so that you can talk to people about raw milk and you're, you're using it as a weapon against me. It tastes great. It's a full-bodied milk. Does it got nice legs to it? It does, yes. Yo, it takes quite a while to go back down the glass. But you don't scrape the cream off the top. No, you shake it up. You shake it up. You shake it into it. You let it mix in. You pour it in, right in the fridge. I've got a raw milk protein shake with also, she's going to hate this Rosa Deloro. Two raw eggs. It's great. Okay. I mean, I, I like it for you. I don't know if it's, and I do love milk, by the way. I drink whole milk by the glass. I love it. It's just so, so easy. This is even better than whole milk. So I would say I'm closer than the average person to where you're at. Like I'm getting closer. It's easier to digest. You're not going to have any problems. Do you think this is going to be something in a couple of years where everyone is like, oh, guys, raw milk is actually better for you and we all.

39:04Absolutely. Because remember, at one point, everyone was drinking skim milk and that's out now. And everyone was drinking milk alternatives. And now milk is coming back into fact. Cow's milk is back in the game. So maybe we're getting closer to the Taylor Cormier of it all. But you know what Taylor? You know what I'm going to say to you? I'll try it. I don't. Oh, yeah.
