3:01Allegrette. Oh. Oh no. Yeah Brady saw it, let out an OS. Did that actually happen? I can't remember honestly being that upset, watching one of my teams in a particular moment. An absolute gut wrenching dagger to not only the game, of course, but to at the very least the early part of the season, perhaps the entire season and of course, conversation from some about whether or not the team should start to plan as if Jaden Daniel's might not be worth it moving forward. Because ability is important and there's no doubt he has that, but it's always tied to in the NFL and in sports in general, availability and he hasn't been available enough

4:03since his rookie season. I'd say good morning, but it really isn't. It's not a good morning. Max is here with me. Ben is gonna jump on here in the first hour of the show because he is catching a flight from Dallas. We'll find out from Ben what he knows. At this point, imaging MRI seems to be what's coming today back here after they got back late last night. Dan Quinn holds his Monday press conference at 3 p.m. with the beat reporter group. Is it possible we get a Pelisaro or a rap report from whatever the MRI says before then? Yes. Is it possible also that Quinn tells us that they don't have the results yet and they'll let everybody know on Wednesday when they reconvene for the first day of prep for the Seattle game on Sunday. I guess that's possible.

5:04I can't believe that we're not going to learn something before then. But for those who are in the field, I'm assuming none of you did if you're listening to this show. Jaden Daniels injured on the final play of the first half with an elbow dislocation similar to the one that he had last year at the end of the game against Seattle when he should not have been on the field running the play that he ran. Carded off the field, towel overhead, Quinn did say in the post game press conference that it was not a fracture, which is good news. You're getting all the internet doctors now to weigh in on the I have not heard this by the way. All of the supposed discussion that was taking place last year about surgery is an option. Did I hear that as a theme to the post Seattle injury?

6:04I didn't, I mean, I may have heard it once or twice, but the internet doctors now saying, like I said, should have gotten surgery. I will just tell you that I did talk with a very good friend of mine who is an orthopedic surgeon in town. He's performed a couple of back surgeries on yours truly. And he said the following, he said it's extremely rare to have a redislocation after non-operative care about a 1 to 2% chance. There can be residual instability, but surgery is rare for elbow dislocations. So I don't know what to believe. I'll go with my friend Dr. Mike Goldsmith from Summit, orthopedics in Bethesda on that one. But we're going to hear a lot from everybody. And the team's going to have to make the call based on whatever the MRI says in the team doctors and outside team doctors, etc.

7:07Say, look, the bottom line is, you know, a game and a half into this season. And the season's chance for something good to happen for a team to be competitive and in the hunt and for us to have meaningful football when we get into November and beyond took a major hit yesterday. The chances of the team having that kind of a season without him are significantly less. Marcus Mario does a good veteran solid backup quarter back in the league able to functionally run an NFL offense. Certainly for a short stretch, but any more than a short stretch, if he's got to play the significant majority of the season, you're not going to be a winning team. And I like Marcus Mario.

8:08I think he did a good job yesterday coming in. He did a decent job last year as a relief quarterback. He's no jaden Daniels. And what was so sickening in the moment when you saw that elbow dislocated is how high of a level he had played at. How much he reminded everybody after the final two drives in Philadelphia, is he really got his season going in week one after not playing football for a long period of time. Just an absolute show he put on in the first half. And let me just real quickly and I don't want this to wait any longer. I did not have any issue at all with Dan Quinn going for the the last play on third and goal the one with three seconds to go. Now, if he had opted for the field goal, I wouldn't have had a

9:09problem with that. I felt like when they got to the one with 12 seconds to go, I did feel like they got to get a touchdown. They should get a touchdown. Dallas is reeling in the midst of this long drive. The third straight that Washington had moved it on the Cowboys. Cowboys had defensive players dropping like flies. Had a couple that didn't play coming into the game. Washington making a jaden Daniels putting on an exhibition of throwing of alluding past rush and breaking backs for the defensive group on scrambles. By the way, doing a phenomenal job protecting himself with slides at the end of runs. I had no issue in the moment with Quinn deciding that we need a touchdown here because I had just watched 29 minutes and 57 seconds of the first half where it was very obvious that touchdowns were

10:10field goals were not likely going to do it. You were going to need touchdowns. Not to mention the fact that Dallas was gassed a bit in the midst of a long drive. The third straight where they couldn't get off the field against Washington. I didn't have a problem. If they felt like the context of the situation of getting the ball back to start the second half and we want a two for one, we want to get the three, we want to start the second half down 17, 13 and get down the field and take the lead and just being a back and forth shoot out, which is what the game was kind of setting up to be. That's fine too, but I didn't have a problem. I mean, Dan Quinn did not cause the injury to Jaden Daniels, the absurdity of some of you in the moment. Like I was emotional too. Don't get me wrong. I was just gutted in that moment when I saw the replay and I saw the elbow. But to blame it on Dan Quinn, come on.

11:10You guys are better than that. If you thought they should have kicked a field goal, I don't have a problem with that. I think it's very debatable, but it wasn't a slam dunk. Either way, it was really kind of a, do we have a play? Do we feel good about it? Is this a game that, you know, kicking field goals here at the one yard line is going to come back to Hannes? I mean, imagine they kicked the field goal and in the second half, you know, they have to kick another field goal. They're down eight and everybody's saying, are you kidding me? Because you know that would have been the case too. With many saying, you know, in calling Quinn, man, you know, old Dan in that 24 season going forward, he doesn't have the stones anymore. I had no issue at all. In fact, first and goal at the one with 12 seconds to go. I'm like, got to get a touch down here. If it comes down to one play, you probably still need to do it. And I really thought they would get it done.

12:10You know, I've gone back. I looked at the first two plays on the all 22 just right before the show. The second and goal from the one with eight seconds to go. He does have baits, but he's also in that mode of can't take a sack. He's the half ends. And baits kind of came open and there was a little bit of, you know, of rush. But he probably could have unloaded it quickly to baits, although if baits had dropped it or whatever, we would have all screamed, why are you going to baits? Like last week. But I didn't have a problem with what they did in that spot. Sorry, I didn't. You know, context is everything. And you can say, oh, well, they didn't, you know, get it in on the first two tries. And, you know, the scenario around, you know, one play. And the thing about that one play is that's the play in which the defense has to defend pass and run.

13:15The play looked to me like a sprint option a bit. I don't think it was a swing pass to Rashad White. And then, you know, the Jaden under center was going to come back hard on sort of a boot with perhaps Rashad White as a pitch option, probably scores with the way Jaden was running in that game. And how gassed and how bad Dallas's defense was at that point. But of course, it didn't happen. You know, the Jaden steps on Chris Paul's foot coming back, stumbles, puts the left arm down to try to stay up. Elbow buckles, chucks the ball and complete underhanded. And a few seconds later, he's being carted off the field. I do have, you know, a couple of thoughts about those last few plays which I'll get to in my game take.

14:16But that was agonizing. That is, you know, I was thinking about this that if he had had a first half like last week against Philly, where they were kind of struggling against a much better defense first game, the whole thing, it would have been still for people like me who love Jaden Daniels and believe in Jaden Daniels to be in a elite level talent, elite level talent. It wouldn't have phased me, but man, I can only hear had they not played well some of the conversation about the injury because many people would have just said, that's it. Got to make plans to draft a quarterback this season is going to get tanked and you got a draft a quarterback in 2027. But the fact that he had essentially looked like vintage Jaden Daniels from 2024 until with the exception of the Traylon Burke's misdeep still, it was just the worst.

15:24So now we wait, we wait to hear the severity of it, what the plan is to deal with it, how long he's out for. Yeah, needless to say, he's going to miss some games, you know, I've heard he can play with a brace, it's not his throwing hand throwing arm and thank God, it's not his throwing elbow, because this is not on his non throwing elbow, this is not a career ending injury, it can't be. You know, the worst case would be some sort of surgery, I guess, I don't know, if there's ligament damage, no fracture, which is good, but it's not his throwing arm. But you certainly shouldn't have a guy that in trying to use his off hand to stay balanced and stay upright, there shouldn't be that risk that he's going to dislocate it. I mean, he could have done that, tripping on something in his own home. I mean, freak, not like, oh my God, he's putting himself at risk, he's doing it again, he's not getting down, he's taking big shots, or somebody rolls back into the, you know, into his knee in the pocket.

16:37I mean, more quarterbacks get hurt in the pocket than outside of the pocket. And let's not forget, you know, he's not the only high level talent that gets injured a lot, Lamar's been injured a lot, Joe Burrow's been injured a lot. You don't get as much conversation about that in part because they've already established themselves as true superstars in the sport and Jaden did it for one season and hasn't really been available to play football for any meaningful period of time since the narrative from many about him being injury prone. Despite the fact that his historical injury record did not suggest that that should be the narrative played 52 or 54 college games played all 20s rookie season. Yes, he had a rib injury played through it. Last year was the aberration, but those that want to say I saw the frame, I saw a guy that couldn't hold up.

17:40Yeah, that's true in that he did have a frame that looked looked vulnerable, but that's not the injury like he didn't take a big shot. He didn't have a knee, he didn't have an ankle, he didn't have a shoulder. Two of the three injuries he's had here over the last season, plus have been super freakish elbow dislocation. Now the Seattle game I put that on the coaching staff absurd that he was a in the game and if he was going to be in the game, he wasn't just handing the ball off or throwing quick bubble screens to run an RPO in the red zone in a condensed field. That was a possibility when the game was over. I mean, there's no way in hindsight, no way in hindsight after that Seattle game that that coaching staff didn't say, wow, we really effed up.

18:41I mean, can't run an ARP that wasn't a zone read. It was an RPO, okay, run pass option. Okay, so he's either going to hand it to the back or he's going to pull it and he's going to throw it, but on a condensed field, it just makes everything tighter and closer and puts the puts the pass option after he decides not to hand it puts it into a potential pressure mode and he paid for it. Idiot. In the Seattle game yesterday complete flukeish freakish Chris Paul stepping on. Yeah, okay, should he have been in shotgun. I don't know. They like to play that they called. I mean, from what I can see the play had a pretty good chance to work had that not happened. Painful stuff yesterday. Freaking game and a half into the season and here we are with the quarterback down again. By the way, let me just mention that stupid ass flag football game that he participated in the Brady thing that was supposed to be in Saudi Arabia or UAE or wherever it was supposed to be and then they had to pull it back here because of the war in Iran.

20:02I mean, how dumb was that that they I mean, I I know for a fact the organization was holding their breath. But given what we just saw in that game, how idiotic was it for him to play in that thing? That's on him. That's on his inner circle. That's on the team to a certain degree. I don't know if they could have prevented it. I understand the money he probably got for doing it. I don't begrudge any any of these players that are trying to maximize their ability, but coming off the season he came off last year. And what we just saw, can you imagine with him running around like a running back in that stupid ass flag football game if he had done it then. My game take after this. Okay, sis, give me the scoop. Commanders see it, they're going to challenge it. And it's challenging really on the field of an incomplete patch.

24:04You guys are right, and that's going to be a touchdown. What a throw. They went to commercial and I just said, well, when they come back, obviously it's going to be 17-16 with the extra point pending. But apparently somebody in New York decided that it wasn't a touchdown. You're going to have to explain that one to me. That seemed about as obvious as it gets with replay. All right, let's get to my game, too. All right, list of things that I thought were good from the game from a Washington perspective. The things I didn't like and then a bunch of other observations. And as mentioned, Ben's going to jump on with us as he is headed to the airport in Dallas to fly back. So we're not going to wait to get to him. We'll get to him probably at 11 a.m. or maybe even before that. I'm certainly going to give all of you guys a chance on the phones today. What I liked from the game yesterday, well, Jaden Daniels before the injury. I mean, he was incredibly sharp throwing the football with the one exception of overthrowing Berks by a bit.

25:08He was an absolute lethal running option, protecting himself on every single scramble. Total control he was at the line of scrimmage. He had complete control at the line of scrimmage. Checked to a really good run to Rashad White, where I think was obvious pass was called on a third down. I think Brady talked about how in this offense, it's great to hear Brady on this call. I know that some believe that he's just overly positive when it comes to the quarterbacks. I don't feel that way. I've watched him enough. I've heard him certainly levy some criticism against quarterbacks in games that he's called. But he said that Jaden's got more authority in this offense at the line of scrimmage. You can see that. He missed the bomb to Berks. He overthrew him by a bit. It's too bad because that was the drive. The 15 play drive that ended the first half and ended his game.

26:10Perhaps we'll see several games if not more. That was the one throw that he missed. Again, the goal line sequence. Did he miss Bates on the second and goal from one? Bates did come open. I don't know where Bates was in the progression. You got to understand when you take that snap with eight seconds to go. One thing you cannot do is get tackled in the field of play. The defense, remember, knows pretty much that you're going to throw the football because of what would happen if you ran the football and got stopped. Look, I mean, 165 total yards before the injury 96 through the air, 69 as a scramble or runner. He made it easier for white and cross-key merit because clearly when Jaden is lined up in that pistol in particular and he was in the pistol a few times with some zone read calls. Even though he didn't pull it, I thought he should have pulled it on one.

27:13But even when he doesn't pull it, you got to play the quarterback. It makes it easier for the running backs. We've understood that as NFL fans, as skins fans forever going back to 2012. He converted over and over again on third down. The first one coming on that third and 18 after that absurdly horrible offensive pass in her fear of losing. The offensive pass in her fear of losing. Against Terry McClaurne and yet on third and 18, he hangs in there steps up and drills a 24 yard completion to Terry moving the sticks. Really, that was the play. Second drive of the game ignited the offense and they were off to the races. I mean, I think this was an offense that was going to put up easily 30 plus in the game and you were going to be involved in a crazy shootout. The third and two were he scrambled for 18 yards on their first scoring drive. The third and six on that final drive of the first half where he finds digs versus the blitz. Blitzing him, by the way, is very, very dicey if you're a defense.

28:16There are not. Vancers when he is seeing it and feeling it. He had an excellent check as I mentioned to Rashad White on a third and two. It looked like Brady said, you know, he recognized cover two. He immediately checked to the run on third and two and White easily gets six seven yards to move the sticks. He was accurate on pretty much every throw except for the deep ball to Burke's. They went hurry up a few times, caught the defense similar to last week where they went quickly and the touchdown pass to digs was on the money. Terry in the end zone with bland in coverage. That was a good ball. Terry couldn't pull it in. Although the expectation because they called it a touchdown and then reversed it is. Terry catches those contested balls. It was reversed by replay. You know, I guess you could ding him for the pitch to Croskey merit on the field goal drive. I don't know if Croskey merit didn't get to the mark he was supposed to get to or it was just a wild pitch by Jaden.

29:21That's something that the coaches, the David Blau would be able to tell you. But that cost them a touchdown, you know, on that third and 18. I thought he did a good job there. You know, that's where after a bad play like that on a condensed, you know, field situation, you really have to make sure that if you're going to take a chance, it is easy. If not, you check it down and you come away with three and he checked it down to White for 12, 13 yards. I thought that was maybe 14 yards. I think that was the smart thing to do. And again, on the two plays before the injury play on third down with three seconds to go, I didn't see anything there on first down. On second down, he does perhaps have an opportunity to throw to baits. But look, before that injury, he was lights out. He was Jaden Daniels, like he was at the end of last week. And they were going to need him to be Jaden Daniels in that game.

30:22It was pretty obvious, right? After 29 minutes and 57 seconds of the first half, this was going to be a game that went back and forth. And defenses were going to have to get a penalty, you know, a drop pass, something like that, or stand up big in the red zone. You know, that was going to determine the game, the rest of the way. Jaden Daniels before the injury leads the list of things that I liked from the game. Stefan Diggs is just a supreme route running wide receiver. Boy, does he get separation easily, whether it's man in zone, he always has the feel for where to get to, where to set it down. And his hands are A plus. Great pick up, going to be significant, you know, for the next few weeks with Mario to at quarterback, he's going to need a go to guy. And, you know, I'm not so sure that Stefan Diggs isn't really a 1A in this offense to Terry McClureen.

31:27I thought Reshot White was outstanding in the game yesterday. And I, you know, I didn't like, I thought I saw a much, much slower version of Reshot White last week in week one. Yesterday against a lesser defense, of course. I mean, I think we can say that all to talk about, you know, Dallas, kind of the same conversation we had about our team. Can they just be an average defense? If they're an average defense, they've got an offense, they should be a pretty good football team. And they added to the defense and they started adding last year. Remember towards the trade deadline, they had some injuries coming in, they lost some more players. They're not very good through two weeks anyway on defense. That is for sure, but Reshot White was really good with his vision as a runner. It does help when Jaden's kind of posed as a run threat, you know, out of that pistol. They were in the pistol several times in the first half.

32:28The pistol difference is about a yard closer to the center and then the back's directly behind the center. Whereas the shotgun may be a yard further back and the back if there is one is offset. They were in the pistol a few times because they wanted to show that zone read threat. You can do it from the shotgun as well. And I think Jaden could have pulled it on one occasion, but it certainly benefits the running backs when the defense has to play quarterback as well. Because it is in many ways at least a chance of as the shana hands used to say 11 on 11 in the run game, which is huge advantage offense. I thought Reshot White was excellent as a pass catcher. I think he made people miss yesterday where he didn't do that last week. Reshot White on the list of things that I liked. I mean, what was his total yardage in the game? Let me just look that up because he had seven carries for 43 yards. So that's over six yards per carry, 6.1 yards per carry.

33:31And he had six catches for 40 yards, you know, on six targets. And by the way, really, you know, against, you know, that too high safety when sometimes you do have to check it down. When you check it down, you want to check it down to a back that's going to make that first guy miss. You know, on a check down against zone too high, you should be able to get five, six yards. And Reshot White was able to do that in the game yesterday. Also on the list, you know, I thought Blau bounced back with a game. Look, I think he was smartly patient last week, but probably a little bit too conservative until they, you know, got to the late third quarter and fourth quarter. But I thought he and Jaden against Philadelphia played it like, hey, we're in this game. Mistakes could absolutely knock us out of this game. Let's not make any.

34:31But yesterday, I think he definitely came out more aggressively. And I loved the second and one shot to Burke to, to Traylon Burke's. It's too bad that it didn't connect. So I thought a decent day for him. I thought for the most part, you know, another decent day from the offensive line. Now, Jaden made some, you know, pressure look silly with his ability to escape it. There's no doubt about that. But I thought overall like there was some good pass protection. That's always something that's tough for us to really evaluate. But I'd like to know what their evaluations are through two games of their pass protection. Because I think it's been pretty decent so far. Obviously the loss of Cosme could be huge. Could be massive. He's their best offensive line.

35:32And there's no doubt about it. What else is on the list? It's tough to do, give anybody any credit defensively because they were shredded by Dallas. Dallas scored on seven of their eight drives. They scored 37 points. They punted one time and converted seven of 11 on third down. You, you can win games like that, but you've got to do it offensively by doing what they did. Eight of 14 on third down, 24 first downs, nearly 400 yards of offense. Washington generated 265 of those yards in the first half. I think 225, whatever it was. But Dallas only had eight possessions. You know, they had only six possessions against the giants, only eight in this game. And they scored on seven of them. Let me repeat that. They had eight possessions offensively and scored on seven of them.

36:38And it was easy. Like people were open like with nobody around them, especially in the first half. I thought the coverage in the second half was better. Look, Sandra still is not very good right now. Let's face it. But at least yesterday he was in the vicinity of a couple of those balls. CDLAM is obviously a pretty damn good receiver. Plus they've got pickings. Plus they got the big tight end in Ferguson. Plus, Javante Williams is an option. But it's hard to really say that anything defensively was very good. But I did write down three things. They were decent against the run, even though Dallas didn't need to run the football. I thought Ken Law before his injury looked good to me. And I think Amique Robertson in his first two games looks like right now their best corner through two games. All right. That completes the list of things that I liked.

37:40What did I like from the game? Well, the injuries, the jade and injury, of course. Just soul crushing. Ken Law Cosmie will see what happens with them. I just cannot get over the fact. And maybe I'll look silly in talking about this because the league is going to have some sort of other view. That they had in New York to look out of the Diamy Brown catch for a touchdown. But he had possession. He had a knee down equals two feet before anything touched at a bounds. And that ball was secured right through the process of the catch. I don't know how in God's name that the NFL, you know, $30 billion top line business or whatever it is at this point. Can't have somebody say that's a touchdown. Everybody that watched it, including Dean Blan Dino said that's a touchdown.

38:40Again, maybe everybody that said it was a touchdown will get an explanation. More likely, I would say the team's going to get an apology. Doesn't help now. Great catch by Diamy. Really good throw by Marcus Mariotta. And the score should have been 17 to 17. Early in the third quarter. I met a complete and utter loss. What did I miss from that play? Maybe I missed something. They'd kick a field goal two plays later. The Terry offensive pass interference is one of the weakest offensive pass interference calls I've seen in forever. Especially when on one of CD lambs touchdown catches, there was a push off. I think on San Ristil. San Ristil was in a bit of zone, but was up at the line of scrimmage. And it was more egregious than what Terry did. I thought the officiating, you know, look, it probably wasn't going to make a difference once Jaden went down, but it was not, you know, one of those, uh, at all evened out. No, it didn't actually.

39:40The defense, obviously, on the list of things that I didn't like from the game as I've already mentioned, I mean, you're going to be hard pressed to win football games in which the other team possesses the ball eight times and scores on seven of the eight drives. And is very, very non-stressed at any point during the game. Also on the list, the missed scoring opportunities, the double pass. I mean, I love the call, you know, I don't know if they do that call with Jaden in the game, but, you know, Ben Johnson has a lot of tricks in his bag and David Blow. Yeah, it was around Ben Johnson. The double pass was set up beautifully in Antonio Williams. I guess they thought he could throw it and he made a bad throw. And yeah, Terry could have, but he didn't and it wasn't on him. I don't, I don't put it on Terry. I don't know if that's going to get called as a drop. I don't think so. It was a bad throw.

40:40But I loved it. It should have been an easy touchdown. The missed field goal of 51 yarder from Stevens is the second missed field goal in two weeks. You know, those are big. And overall, you know, minus one in the turnover margin meant that instead of the final score probably being 30 to 23 or something like that, it was 37 to 20. For a second straight game and a continuation of last year, no takeaways for the defense. Zero. Next to last intake ways last year. And they are dead last right now in takeaways through two games. And the only reason I know that is when you have zero, you're at least tied for last. Zero takeaways in two games. This team, if it's going to be a team that can at least keep their head above water to a certain degree, if Jaden's going to be back, let's just say after the by week six games in, you know, could they steal two against the giants or Indy in London, you're going to have to get some takeaways defensively.

41:50The defense is going to have to be a part of doing their job to keep the team in games. Last year, they had very little chance without Jaden Daniels and then zero chance because their defense was an absolute civ. So the defense is going to have to step up. Look, that's a very good opponent they played yesterday. It won't be the same. I don't think Sunday with Drew Lock at quarterback if locks the quarterback, but he had a big day yesterday, I think. 31 points, I haven't spent a lot of time looking at that game. Daniel Jones and company moved it up and down the field on Sunday night football against the chiefs. Neither one of these, these next two opponents are going to be with the cowboys were offensively with lamb and pickins and DAC. But you got to get some takeaways. You've got to win a turnover margin once or twice in these games upcoming.

42:51That's going to give you a chance to stay in there and steal one or two of them. I mean, they are allergic to takeaways. A few other observations from the game when we come back, then Ben will join us and will shoot for about 1125 to start taking your calls. 46:59I didn't see it. You guys may have stepped on Chris. I still haven't seen it yet. But I wasn't hesitant about going into that spot. I thought, man, like, we're going to be aggressive into this game against their offense. So I don't regret that, John. Obviously, the outcome sucks. But it wasn't a What If, or I wish I had done something differently. Dan Quinn, at the end of the game, talking about his decision to go for the touchdown. Again, if you're just joining, I didn't have any issue with that. That's not what caused the injury. The injury was flocush. He got stepped on by Chris Paul and then trying to keep his balance and stay upright. He dislocated his elbow again. I felt like in the moment it was, you know, six and one half dozen the other. If you put Stevens out there for the field goal, I would have understood that going for it. Dallas's gasped on a 15 play drive. They can't stop anything. At the same time, you can't stop them. It's going to be a game where it's going to end up being 37, 34 or something like that.

48:02And the team that ends up getting the most red zone stops is probably going to win the game. And you had a chance at the other teams one yard line. To get it in with a quarterback who was unstoppable at that point. By the way, that play, I'd reached out to my guy, Steve Soudre. I said, I want you to watch his play on the all 22. What were they trying to do? It is a, that's not an easy play to decipher because every lineman is blocking as if they can't go down field. And yet, white is staying behind Jaden so that whatever he gets from Jaden is a lateral. So is it going to go to white who's then going to throw it? But if so to whom because it doesn't look like anybody is an obvious receiver. You know, they had Wiley in there as a tackle eligible, but he's blocking and not looking to sort of set himself free into the end zone. Hard played a decode a little bit.

49:07All right, other observations from the game, the end of first half sequence. So, you know, several of you who reach out to me about every clock management situation said they butchered the clock at the end of the first half. I don't see it that way. The real questionable or debatable moment is when they get a Jaden scramble from the Dallas 28 yard line to the Dallas 14 yard line. The play basically ends with about 40 seconds and they let 11 seconds go off the clock before they call the timeout. So the goal is like that was their first time out, which meant they had two more. You're at the Dallas 14 you figure 29 seconds is a plenty of time to do what you want to do. But secondly, you've bled enough of the clock that if even if you score on the next play, there's time, but there's not 40 seconds. There's more like 25 or 24 seconds.

50:10But if you take a couple more plays to punch it in, Dallas doesn't get the ball back because remember this about the Cowboys and you have to consider this when you are at the end of the half with the football and you don't want to give it back to them. They are a team that only needs to get to the 50 yard line for a field goal attempt with Brandon Aubrey and maybe not even the 50 like would they try a 70 yarder for sure in that stadium. The 60 yarder he hit hit the back of the net. So that's all in play in managing the clock at the end of the half. And of course, the most important thing is is you don't hurt yourself and your ability to get a touchdown. And with two time outs left and 29 seconds left at the other teams 14, that should be enough time. But what happened is they got a first down because they had first in 10 at the 14 so they get a first down at the Dallas one yard line and now they only had time for three snaps.

51:16So certainly in hindsight, it would have been better for them to perhaps call the time out with 35 seconds to go so that they would have had time for even a fourth snap. Yeah. In terms of the plays as I mentioned, I think the second goal, there's a shot at Bates maybe and the third down where they went for it. Man, that's a hard play to decipher. Also on the list of sort of other observations from the game, this was pointed out by Brady and Burkhard. Dallas's offense went for 50 minutes without touching the football. Between the end of first half drive, 15 plays, half time and then the third quarter drive that ended in field goal for Washington, 50 minutes of real time elapsed between Dallas's offense being able to snap the football. I liked the double pass. I liked the lateral from the army back to Rashad white.

52:18That's a play that they've had in the playbook since 24. That's a Kingsbury play that obviously Ben likes a bend David Blau likes. Yeah. Lots, I have to look at this, but it seemed like more under center as a percentage of the snaps yesterday. Maybe not. They had some pistol along with shotgun. How about Cavanteurpin, man? I mean, against Dallas, it may make sense just to give him the ball at the 35 kicking it into the end zone. Kaho saved a touchdown on one of those kicks. Oh, Marioda. Look, I didn't put him on the good list, but I perhaps could have. He was solid. Look, it's going to be one of those where you got to look at it. He's not pulling the trigger on several throws where people were open and instead going off schedule because he went off schedule a lot. And he is elusive even at his age. He can really kind of create off schedule.

53:19And some of those plays are entertaining for sure. Some of those plays also can end in disaster. It'll take more to kind of go back to see was stuff there in the rhythm of the called play or did he not, you know, pull the and therefore did he not pull the trigger and instead turned a couple of those plays into total, you know, high jinks and shenanigans. It makes some plays that way. But you'd like to see the ball out on time to a receiver if the receiver was open. But I thought for the most part, Mario did a decent job. The Deami Brown fumble was a killer. The Deami Brown touchdown catch that wasn't called a touchdown was hurtful as well. Do they have a chance to win that game in the second half of Deami if Deami's catch is called a touchdown? Sure. 1717. You know, when you're an offensive team that's not being stopped, but the game context is different score wise puts a little bit more pressure.

54:23There wasn't ever any game pressure on Dallas once Jaden went out and once they kicked that field goal instead of getting the touchdown on the first drive of the second half. Press got, by the way, with this fourth touchdown pass, set the cowboy franchise record for touchdown passes in a career. I that kind of snuck up on me to be honest with you. I'm sure it was part of the pre game notes. I just missed it. But Dak Prescott's going to have a lot of cowboy quarterback passing records when he is done. And this is a franchise with Stauberk with Ackman with Roma. He passed Roma on the list. Dak's been a really solid NFL quarterback. I mean, a very good NFL quarterback. I've never personally as a fan of the sport considered him to be among the elite in the game, but he's damn good. And he has some weapons. All right. I thought Jalen Lane struggled with some of those kickoff returns, you know, handling them.

55:25And then getting up field afterwards. I thought Aubrey did a good job on that. He had one good return. But yeah, McCaffrey was down again inactive for the game. 59:32Okay, so let's just get to it. What do you, if anything, know or at least have a hunch on as it relates to what we're going to learn at some point maybe today about Jaden's injury? Yeah, I mean, unfortunately we have last year some kind of precedent as to what the deal is. If we're just looking at it in the same base, dislocation, no fracture, non throwing arm, you know, you miss what three games. Well, three or four weeks the first time that he was that he got hurt, then obviously was shut down the rest of the season after that. So if it's something along the same lines, you know, we it's possible. We don't see him until after the by week, the week six by what we'll have to see obviously there's could be some questions to you need to have surgery considering the reoccurrence and the relative use of the reoccurrence. Again, easy for me to say from the outside, but it wasn't like he got matched by a line man or, you know, I think like that, he sort of put his hand down to break himself and and that happened again.

1:00:38So you have to wonder about that about that aspect of that that's that's all the short term stuff. I think the longer term stuff is where for the first time since he's been here in the injuries of happen. I'm willing to sort of let myself think ahead because obviously, you know, I don't know. We all know he was really well in the game. I mean, I thought he was looking more much more like vintage, jade and Daniels than we had seen, you know, you've been often lattes and you know, without the in between the injuries. But to go down again, I'm not screaming. Oh no, start looking at the right thing along those lines, but at the same point, then the injuries aren't going to go away. Then we, I don't know how we can just to submit the longer term conversation about what all this means, but right now we have to see what the injury status is. Do you have any thought as to a lot of the, you know, a Steve Spurrier once said 50 50 hindsight on how the injury was handled post Seattle game last year off season seems to be a lot of discussion about how the elbow could have been surgically repaired.

1:01:46Or it could have been handled differently that somehow not doing it made him more vulnerable to this. I don't know what to believe when it comes to this. I'm curious if you've got a thought or two on just a lot of the conversation about his elbow yesterday after the injury. Yeah, I know it's for sure. It's one thing to be Monday morning quarterbacking in terms of the play and other thing to do a Monday morning quarterbacking for the medical decisions. You know, I didn't hear a ton of conversation about this over the course of the off season. You know, obviously you never want to have surgery, but you generally think, especially in that scenario, right? He was, you know, started December. He's getting shut down. He had already at that point re-injured it. So the least he would have thought, OK, is this something we want to do? And, you know, I imagine that they decided to have some sort of surgery right then. You know, he's back plenty of time for OTAs and all that I would think. So I don't know what is the proper course of action. I'm sure this will become a much bigger conversation this week. Now that it has happened again, but I don't know.

1:02:55I mean, you know, they have people who are good at these things. You know, the doctors and the training staff. I know everybody's going to pile on the training and all that group because of the injuries, but, you know, obviously they're doing what they think is best for the player. And, you know, I'll get no, I don't get any feel like he was trying to push for one thing. And this was like an RG3 deal where there's like some conflict that we're going to deal on the lines. And I'm aware of. So, you know, it easy to sort of say, you know, that got this that would last here. Maybe, but they didn't. And now we're here. And now I think this is part of the conversation for sure. What makes him more sense? Get the injury, get the surgery, possibly ending his career. I mean, career. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, even or play it out. And, you know, maybe he's got a place that with a brace on the elbow, et cetera, and go from there. So that's going to be a definitely more of the conversation this time that it was last year. You know, I've already talked about it on the show, but I think the half that he had was just a reminder of how high level he can be as a quarterback.

1:04:08And I'm glad that happened because I can only imagine the conversation had the offense or had he not played well leading up to that. Like it's terrible what happened, but in the same vein, he reminded everybody just how elite level he can be through those first, you know, 29 minutes and 57 seconds before the final snap. And I can only imagine what the reaction would be had he not played well leading up to that. 100 100% you know, that was going into this game. I think one question was sort of and I was pretty confident that it was going to work out this way. But was that the fourth quarter we saw against Philly was that the real version of dating Daniel like the first three quarters of game was essentially his preseason. Unfortunately, it's a minute to get going, but then it did and you know, he was effective and they learned from there. And then we see what happened here and pretty much after that first drive, that's exactly how it went down.

1:05:11And I wasn't just obviously the passing is that you know, the big deal of what like the way he was able to move a Vade, a potential sackers and tackers do with either not nothing forced it was like what I thought was like sort of the missing step for him. It wasn't like he felt compelled after run, but he saw the way JL Hertz did the week prior and attacked it. But then with smart about getting down and all that. And so that's you know, this is exactly what you want to see from this guy. And it was like, OK, here we go. This is like you can see the maturity happening on top of the ability, you know, the playmaking and so on. And then yeah, I mean, that just adds to the, you know, the pain both in terms of physically and everybody else, you know, somewhat emotionally in terms of what happened because it did look the way you wanted it to. What did you think of the decision that Dan Quinn made to go for on that final play the first half?

1:06:17Yeah, I really didn't have an issue with it. You know, I always come back to thinking about that line from Don Conner and the untouchables, you know, bringing a knife to a gun fight kind of right. I mean, Dallas wasn't they weren't stopping Dallas. I don't think they I know they had just on the previous possession, but you know, their Dallas was going to keep getting points. And you know, it's a settle for field goals would not probably get the job done now. Obviously, you know, hindsight, this is a definition of the Monday morning quarterbacking in a hundred ways. Kick the fields all be conservative. You know, there's no injury. Nobody is really upset about the decision, but I had, I had no real issue with it per se. And you know, it looked like, you know, the play was a, looked like a speed out, a speed run right. We looked like he was going to maybe pick it out to reshot. Why is that was the sense I was having? And you know, so that takes him out of harm way that isn't like you're just trying to jam him up the middle. So, you know, all that I didn't have an issue with it. I know I had people in my life texting me. Just putting murder about the decision, but I didn't have any.

1:07:20What is planned for today? Do you know as it relates to, you know, MRI, any kind of imaging? Do you think by the time Quinn speaks to you guys later on today will have something definitive or maybe even beforehand? Yeah, I mean, so he is expected to have imaging, you know, additional imagery done today. My get out of the, I guess unless it's the worst worst case scenario, like you doubt for the year or something, but I had a guess we won't hear anything just because somehow it will magically be that the, that the emigrating testing gets done right after Dan Quinn speaks to us or M3 o'clock Eastern time. So that would be my guess, but obviously it's a quarterback. Everybody is going to be on top of it to try to figure out what's going on meaning the media national logo, etc. It's certainly possible, but my guess would be we probably don't hear a ton, at least until Quinn speaks, but yeah, I mean, look also like, you know, they've got to make who knows what their contingency plans are.

1:08:24And the minimum we have to believe that she's going to miss the, you know, at least a couple of games, you know, right? Just based on what happened a year ago. So what, what are they going to do? They're going to bring it into the quarterback, etc. So I think they probably got to get their ducks in a row before they put that information out there, but because of the high, high profile nature of the player, you know, I nothing with surprise me. I guess other than, you know, the big takeaway, which was the J Nindry, give me the other things that stood out for you from the loss to the Cowboys. Yeah, look, I mean, obviously the, the past coverage was getting hammered right from the jump of me. It's not even so much that CDLAM was just the dominant figure in the game or that that crest, that's what it's 26 of 31, 4 touchdowns. It was like the relative ease in which they were getting the ball. You know, and it's one thing if I get a high completion percent like that, it's a lot of ball passes. Like he's throwing the ball down the field a bit to just CDLAM in particular.

1:09:25And he's just open so much of the time. Probably the, of the four touchdown passes, the one I thought most concerning flash disturbing was the one to Ferguson, the tight end because it was essentially the exact same play that doubt of daughter scored a touchdown on last week. Yeah, you know, vertical route from, you know, in the red zone straight, you know, just to the right of the goal post. And again, just way, way, way too easy. And you know, it was a first down. It wasn't third and goal from the 17, but yeah. Sure, sure. But yeah, I mean, but just like, you know, scouting doesn't go. It's not just about scouting your opponent. There is self scouting as well. So to see essentially the exact same thing happened. You know, that that to me is, is a rough, I think also this was, and I have been being final numbers that this is started back up the I test. But, you know, part of the issue that we've all discussed from the jump here is it doesn't feel like the corners are going to be strong enough to win for you if they have to win for you.

1:10:31Meaning the past rush isn't getting home. And, you know, early on in particular, it didn't feel like that was happening much at all. The deck press got was able to sort of look around and find what he needed to do. You know, they only had three tackles for law for law of comparative 10 last week. So they just weren't nearly as active around the line of scrimmage as they were. Obviously, look, you doubt of credit. That press got such these guys over his career. They were see-vers are really good in the Washington did do a good job of stopping the run game, the traditional run game. So that's positive. You know, and look at the, you know, for not a white side of the game out of the backfield, to bond bigs, you know, what three touchdowns and two games. I mean, not much more. You could ask of him having come in and so on. But, yeah, you know, still just way too many issues on both sides. And I'm also curious what you think. You know, I'm sure they don't like the notion of calling a play a trick play because it inferred they sort of get a grab bag and we'll see.

1:11:34But, you know, David Blatt was not been afraid to call these types of plays. We thought all summer, frankly, again, was one of the things we couldn't talk about too much specifics. But to call the back to back, or not back to back, but to call passing passes from the receiver in like two out of three plays. Yeah. Well, I don't know. I mean, like, I think it feels like at some point, it starts to feel like you're not sure you can win straight up and you've got to come up with this other stuff. And I don't want to go overboard with that. But I'm curious to see what Dan Quinn, if we ask him about that today, what he thinks, what he's willing to say about that because the intonial Williams passed the McCorn to look at the ball and threw McCorn to hand, right, or close to it. So, you know, I'm not saying that they were bad. I just wasn't it wasn't it wasn't a great throw. I mean, it would have been a nice catch, but it certainly the play certainly worked because it was wide open for a touchdown wide open. Sure. Yeah. But I mean, but that's the variance you have when you have a non-quarter throw in the ball. Of course. So that's why that's why, you know, it just looks like man like this is what you needed to do.

1:12:39So again, not the end of the world. This was like a regular week. Maybe it's something to get into a bit more, but yeah, yeah, just to stop a little bit much here with regards to. Yeah, I mean, I wonder how much of that they actually feel like they need to do if Jaden's still in the game and they're shredding Dallas's defense with Mario in the game. It might be a bit different. But remember, that's that's Ben Johnson, you know, that's vintage Ben Johnson stuff. A lot of the trick plays and I don't personally have an issue with it at all. I cannot believe still and I'm curious as to what the reaction was in the booth to the absolute botched replay on Deami Brown's touchdown catch. Yeah, no, that's right. I mean, you know, in the shuffle of everything here, that was a tough one to sort of figure out. But did you guys know how badly they appear to have messed that up in the replay? I mean, maybe I'm going to be corrected at some point later today, but I have a feeling in apology or some sort of letter is coming.

1:13:53I mean, that's a rather large play in the game because it's the difference between 17, 17 and 17, 13. I just don't know how you have this replay system and you've got people in New York reviewing and it couldn't have been more obvious. It was so clear that he had total possession of the ball with a knee down before anything else hits out of bounds. I don't I don't get that one at all. Yeah, no, that was my general thought of watching out. I didn't have the broadcast on. I don't know if he can blame Deami or whoever it was. They all thought we were coming back from commercial with the touchdown. Yeah, yeah, no, I mean, you know, look, and this goes up course back to sort of, you know, with the preseason prediction, you know, what he's into, what the record going to be in my answer with a lookable area. They're like half the league. They're in that seven to 10 win range, but it's all going to come down to things like this. There's a replay. Go your way or not. In this case, obviously, it didn't. So, yeah, no, I mean, it's that's the thing. I mean, again, it's put us. I mean, it's impossible to put aside the gate and engine.

1:15:05But like they had the momentum going into that last play of the first half. They come out in the second half, even with Mario, they're able to move the ball. You know, I think they had done, you know, they had done some generally pretty good things, but then it's just that I think of the second possession of the second half. They had some penalties and, you know, distinct started spiraling, missed the field goal. And it thinks it's kind of went south from there. They never stepped out and I'll score them on their last four possessions of the second half. But, you know, there were some positive takeaways, but it's not, you know, it doesn't possible to really highlight anything with much authority or much, you know, much passion when, when, when everything else went the way that it did. Alright, a couple of other injuries. I guess we need to keep an eye on. Obviously, Sam Cosmese concussion, a Javon Ken Law got hurt in the game. He was, I think, one of the few defensive players that seemed to play fairly well before he got hurt. But the Cosmese thing was friendly fire. Man, they need him.

1:16:10They can't afford to lose him for a few games. I know doubt. No, no doubt at all. You know, I can caution as impossible to sort of look at a person and say, well, it looks like he's okay or not. Now he, we did seem in the locker room afterward and he was. If you didn't know that he'd gotten hurt, I don't think you would have reckoned any issue there wasn't like he was having issues with the light or had to sit down or any of those other looks fairly normal. Hopefully that is the case and it's not a huge deal both for himself and for the team. But yes, I mean, and you know, to what extent the Coleman injury is a finger. You don't think of offensive lineman. Mrs. Time for a finger, but you know, I don't know maybe to what end of that went down, but obviously, you know, for all the conversation at the offensive line, my whole point has been, yeah, maybe the line isn't the hogs, but it's okay. It's possible. The issue is the depth. They're one injury away from real peril. And here they have two that came up again. Hopefully neither of them is a big deal.

1:17:15They can play against the sea, hot spot. Yes, the losing anything on the offensive line, we wouldn't with getting to any of it would be usually problematic. Were you surprised that I shouldn't say surprised because this has been a conversation all off season on how it would go. I thought Rashad White was a completely different player yesterday than the one we watched last week and they clearly thought so as well because he was in the game a lot more than Croskey Marit. I haven't seen the final snap count, but I'm assuming White was in there a lot more than Croskey Marit. Yeah, I tweeted it out earlier. He definitely was in there more note note that I mean, you know, in the game where the pad or the passing game that takes on a bigger focus whether by game plan or because in this case, they're losing. Rashad White is going to be the better option the guy they're going to use more and he definitely did look the part that takes targets, caught them all had over 80 yards combined from scrimmage.

1:18:19So yeah, I know I thought he had a good game for sure, you know, unfortunately again, we've seen but that when you lose Jaden and everything kind of changes from there, but yeah, I thought he had a pretty good game and you know, this was an opportunity. I mean, look again, obviously a lot of those yards on the ground came from Jaden Daniels, but the Giants last week, the reason, I think the primary reason they beat the Alice was they had long drives. They were able to run combination of the quarterback and the traditional ground game, keep that off the field here. They were able to do some of that, but you know, for a variety of reasons, it just didn't work as well. And then Jaden gets hurt and you know, they couldn't keep that off the field in the second half. So yeah, it's I thought he did some good things like I said, there's some positive elements to this game on both sides, but you know, just not nearly enough. Last one, Sanrestill, I actually thought some of the coverage when guys did catch balls was much better at times than it was last week, but I don't think he was in there for all of the defensive snaps like he was last week.

1:19:29I want to say that I think they probably played the safeties more than even the third cornerback. What did you see because I have not seen the final snap counts yet? Yeah, they had 55 players on defense. He played in four on 45. 45 out of the 55. Okay, so that last week he played on basically all but one snap, correct? Yeah, we're still dug up and that up playing 24 snaps. Okay. Last one, so you know that the Alifar, those are only three corners that played the Croft and Jamie reuse both played a ton as well. Juan Martin of decent amount for sure, but yeah, I mean, obviously the cornerback situation, you know, we'll curious, let's go look at the all 22 today and see how it all played out again. Sometimes they can't just complain about your guys, you got to get the credit to the other guys and see the lamb is just a monster or receiver, but you know, there was just also just too much.

1:20:31The Dallas is just giving out a talk to me, growl person after the game and he was just like, you know, and I know this is something people say, but he was pretty passionate about saying, look man, we have got to figure out who we are as a defense. We just gave them way too much. It was most of what they got with on us and you know, we got to figure out who we want to be when we go walk out onto the field. These are to say if that's an accurate statement, you would think that would have been dealt with a long time ago and you know, with the round take-ones, it's a very specific system here. Yeah, we're up front and we're going to play, you know, zone and have ball-tap, ball-hawking corners who can go make plays. You would think they have an identity again, maybe that's just him in the moment being frustrated, but you know, clearly the secondary was once again having a tough time outing in this case. 1:25:43And I have a lot of belief in the guys and what they can do. So we will not, certainly, we don't like where we are, but we are not staying in this space. And so that's what's kind of my message to them and, like, my love how they work. I like the spot that they'll get to to get it right. I'm certain that we'll do that. I don't feel any better today knowing that, but we'll continue to work and find the right balance with the right packages and people to get that done. Dan Quinn, can they, you know, rely on their defense to step up here in the absence of Jaden Daniels, however long he's out. A lot of discussion about space and marks to hit and to go and all that stuff. Bottom line is they got to start hitting people. That sound like Doc, but good God. Enough of the marks and spaces and the, you know, this defense was truly horrible yesterday against a much better offensive team than the one they faced last week.

1:26:48There's no doubt about it. Did you see Philly offensively yesterday against Tennessee? It was 157 degrees on the field. That's not an exaggeration or actually was. But they gave up, as I've mentioned about 12 times, seven scores on eight drives, seven on eight drives, seven, 11 on third downs and zero takeaways once again. They have to get a defense that rises to the level that gives them a chance in football games over the next four to five weeks. If that's what the quarterback's absence is going to be last year, remember after he dislocated his elbow against Seattle, he missed the Detroit game. He missed the Madrid game against Miami, then came the by week, then he missed the Denver game and then he was back for the Minnesota game. So it was four weeks. It was a four week injury. Three games were missed.

1:27:52So if you do the math and fingers crossed, that's what it ends up being. All right. He's going to miss Seattle, Indian London, the Giants, the 49ers, then they have a by week. Get that fifth week and he's back on November 1st against Philadelphia. I have no idea if this is what's going to happen. I'm just comparing it to last year. If it ends up being similar in terms of the time that he's out, you've got to find a way to win two of the next four. Seattle is coming to town with the best defense in the NFL. Jacobi Berset through for like 80 yard yesterday. The Cardinals could not move the football. New England, pretty much the same thing in the opener. You got Seattle, Indian, New York, before you got to go to San Francisco, the 49ers look pretty damn good at this point through two weeks. We'll see. Then you got a by week. So Sunday night football against the Eagles at home. If this is the news, we get similar to last year out four weeks, kind of a thing. You'd get the fifth week with the by.

1:28:58You got to get you got to be two and four when he comes back to have a shot. But to get to two and four, you can't have the defense you had last year, which was legitimately one of the worst defensive football teams in recent NFL history once they got past week seven. And yesterday was not a good sign, even though it was a very good opponent that they faced in the cowboy offense. So spaces, marks to goes, whatever you need to do, the defense has to step up and start assisting this football team and giving it a chance to hang in there occasionally. Your turn calls 301230980. 1:30:00But I thought personally this defense was going to smack Dallas. Pretty good yesterday. I thought we've rebuilt it 166 million. I believe we spent fifth highest defense price. I think last in the 2026 all season yet away. No factor. Chase on too small pain. I don't know if he even played Chanel. I didn't see him and the X kind of city chief on when he or whatever name is. I didn't see anybody stand out style of struggle. We all know that. But it was defeating to watch that defense get annihilated. But there was no pressure. No blitzing. No any. Can you explain? Well, there was there was some blitzing and I actually thought Robertson the corner. I think he's actually been somewhat impressive through two games. I thought I didn't think go away stunk yesterday to be honest with you. Like you just said.

1:31:02But look, the bottom line is they got absolutely torched from the beginning until the end of that game. You have to force the other punter to be active in the game occasionally. And if he's not active, it's because you've taken the ball away two or three times. You just you the punter can't be sitting over there legitimately wondering whether or not he's going to have a chance to kick in the game. And that's what it was last year and that's what it was yesterday can't have that. And now you've got to have it rise up and help this football team. Whether what could be let's fingers crossed a short to medium length storm. Kevin, can I can ask one follow up question on this? Do you think it's personnel Kevin because it's been this way for two years now. Is it personnel or scheme or is it when is a defensive minded coach? And he was a good one. 1:32:05No, I look, I think it's first of all it's two games new coordinator, 10 to 11 new players. It was going to take some time. It was going to take some time on offense yesterday. It seemed like they had reached the amount of time that it was going to take before the offense was pretty damn good. I'm not bailing yet. I saw some things last week against a lesser opponent offensively. I do think they have better players. I think they've got more playmakers and I liked that they're more aggressive. But what we saw yesterday just was a major flashback to the Detroit game last year to the Seattle game last year to making J.J. McCarthy look like Joe Montana for the only time that he's looked good in his entire NFL career so far through three seasons. I just I've fingers crossed that it's improved. But yesterday was an indication even though it's just two weeks that it's not going to be massively improved because they do have right now a player player problem personnel problem in the back four or five depending on how many they have on the field at any given time.

1:33:21Let's go to Kyle who's calling from scranton Kyle go ahead. Hey Kevin thanks for letting me on first time on a radio show so I'm pretty excited. I do things to play call again with three seconds left under center. I just don't understand where they were going. There was no wide receivers no playmakers on the field. That's two weeks in a row with red zone. Well the quarter back was a playmaker. Absolutely but no help like no wide receiver step on digs on a quick out something you know like they scored earlier in the game. But and then the second thing is how do you feel about him strapping up next week like Kurt Warner with that big old heavy brace on and letting it rip if he's able without rigging the damage. I thought about that. I've thought about that like I don't this is obviously not in our area. This is not in our wheelhouse. The doctors are going to have to and look they're going to be people that make the argument like look this dude is obviously so precious in terms of his ability.

1:34:28If there's something that they can do surgically with the elbow then maybe you air on the side of long term. So I think that's the benefit from from doing that if that's what it takes now what you're saying is to hell with that it's weak to put a brace on it and get the surgery at the end of the year. I don't know. I honestly it's not his throwing arm right so he can play football I think. But there are going to be times just in his every day life where he may need the use of his off arm to do something by the way you are correct the playmaking ability on that third and goal from the one did not include any receivers it included. I don't even know if he was tackle eligible because the game book shows that he did not report is tackle eligible and you had baits and Senate white behind jaden this is a play that I'm going to need to figure out.

1:35:34They're blocking as if it's a pass there's no downfield they're all making an effort not to be downfield okay and jaden's going to boot right and he's going to be on the edge with Rashad white in a position where he can accept a lateral not a forward pass what's he going to do throw it to white white's going to throw it back to him because while he's not going out for a pass. And I don't think he was reported as tackle eligible it is a strange football play I don't know what the plan was may have been brilliant for all I know. Is this actually happening in it obviously was. 1:38:54punted one time in the football game once it was the only time we held on three and how many possessions did they have in the first half I'm sorry Dallas they had four they four they scored on three of them the first three so I feel good we held until feel go and we got into a three it out yeah the three the three and that was was you know look a sack is a devastating play was the one sack you know the Ken Loss sack but the defense was never taking control of the football game okay I got to move on Stevie Ray thanks I I will say I will say that I'm totally totally fine with those of you that think they should have kicked the field goal where I'm not fine is if you're gonna blame Quinn for not kicking the field goal and injuring jaden Daniels because of the decision that is silliness at the highest level this was very very debatable it's an arguable decision among fans Monday morning quarter backing it

1:40:01about the decision itself not the outcome in the result okay the decision itself for me when they got to first and goal at the one with 12 seconds to go I'm like if it comes down to it you got to go for the touchdown you know you've got you've had this team on the field for 12 13 14 plays you've been moving the football up and down the field they had another injury I think on the second down player on the first down play you've got jaden Daniels who's literally unstoppable as a runner on that play if anything maybe you surprise them and run it on second down and it's probably a walk in touchdown with her shot white from you know the pistol or the shotgun I don't know um then you're burning up then you're walking to the locker room with no points if it gets stopped that's why you got to take those downs when you still have them to throw and make sure that it incomplete pass if you don't have anything stops the clock all right stay on hold everybody we'll take calls you're chance to weigh in on definitely one of those you know days following a game that

1:43:12the offense he was going to be awesome this year the offense wasn't going to be a problem it was going to be really good old to talk about the offensive line black of weapons none of that was going to matter because he elevates and he was looking awesome he was so fun to watch yesterday he was so exciting so it's just it's just devastating and you just you look at the outlook and there was like this guy is going to be you know our our franchise quarterback our elite franchise quarterback for the next decade plus we're finally not going to have Dallas and Philly beating up on us all the time we're and it's going to make us it's going to give us a good shot to be a perennial contender and for you know the first time all of that to me is in doubt now just because of these injury setbacks and you know also you know people are people talk about the frame and you know the lack of size and all that and he can't last in the NFL the truth is is that he's had one nature injury in his NFL career so far you know the hamstring was a week the knee was a couple weeks you know the ribs he played through none of that is that big as a deal but this elbow thing

1:44:14this has essentially been a non-contact injury it has nothing to do with this frame it has nothing to do with this ability to take hit it was essentially all of them happened on him just bracing a fall so it just stinks so much that it doesn't even have to do it's like being a contact injury um so yeah just just uh totally devastated um i don't know what what they do moving forward but you know it hurts a lot just because it's so frustrating because i was convinced that he was going to have a big year this year and you know maybe he still can maybe come us back but it's just the setbacks just take a toll yeah no it takes a toll it is for us over the life after 2024 you know certainly last year could have been and certainly was in the moment the aberration year for him in terms of injuries because there was no historical you know track record of missing

1:45:15games and being out as much as he was but the frame was always a question mark for everybody and it became because everything related to players especially players with talent and ability like him coming off the season he had being a part of the draft class that he was a part of the narrative became he's injury prone and even though there wasn't historical data to support that it also wasn't unreasonable for somebody to look at his frame to look at the way he played and the decision making at times that was the other part of it a bean the decision making all of the sudden is sensational with him as a runner he's not taking shots hasn't taken a shot in the first two games yet and to see it happen flukeishly even though the elbow got injured last year and if you want to believe some of the internet doctors or you know we'll get the full report hopefully today maybe it was vulnerable to another injury maybe they should have done surgery one to two percent

1:46:19is what my guy told me one to two percent of elbow dislocations eventually require any sort of operative care so because the it's extremely rare to actually dislocate it again but we'll see we'll see what happens here i would i would hate hate it if he's done for the year it better be because they have decided this has to be done to keep him healthy for the rest of his career and hopefully three years from now we can look back and say remember when but yeah go ahead finish up you think i got 30 seconds okay yeah just a quick couple things decision making you're right like you wasn't you ran for 70 yard just or anything wasn't touched and even just the maturation i mean that third and 18th row you saw i'm climbed the pocket which is something we haven't seen that much of and i think i was one of the best friends of this career in the terrier and just last note Kevin
