Meet the Red Bull Dragonberry Emergizer. It's one of the many new drinks out now. Who knew ice cold drinks could be so fire? Try them all only at McDonald's. I should help South Africa. It should help dire acumen Asian countries. So we will be able to build up our future for it. Thank you very much, South Carolina. Two, one.

Ah, yes. Good morning, everybody. This is the world's famous Ben and Skin Show Lone Star 92 five. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. I'm Ben Rogers. And I sound like this. He is Jeff Skin Wade and he sounds like this. Hello, friends. He is Kevin KT set list tear down turner. And he sounds like this. Hello, friends. And she is Christina Carrelo Baby Cornbread range. She sounds like this. Hello, friends. Yeah, good morning. So the NFL is back, which is great. And it just, it makes me nervous for the Cowboys. No. Why are you nervous, bro? Because this every year I fall for the banana and the tailpipe. And I'm like, hey, this year's different. This is the year. And this is the first time really since the mid 90s where that mindset might be justifiable. And so now there's even more of a setup for heartbreak. That's just that's a life band sports. And man, she's got to deal with it. Not like this. This is, this is actual hope for the first time

in 30 years is justified. Actual hope is justified out there in the Metriplex. As you wake up, you stretch, you, I'm like, ready for your day and you start thinking about the Cowboys season getting underway. It's legitimately okay for you to dream big about the Cowboys. And that is something that's different this year than it has been in three decades. I think you're blocking out what happened. I can't remember if it was two years ago or three years ago where we went into the playoffs as one of the best teams in football and got beat by 40 or whatever that was. Yeah, but at the beginning of the year, it was false hope. It was, it was, there was never been hope like this to me in the 30 years. There's been some good teams along the way. Yeah, but this, I mean, you've got George Pickens, you've fixed your defense, you have the young talented, Jedi defensive coordinator. I think hope is as high now as it's been in 30 years. So what is your like hope like you're thinking Super Bowl or you think in Goat? I think multiple Super Bowl's this year, multiple Super Bowl.

Yeah, I think it's multiple Super Bowls. No, I think what would make me happy is if they actually got to the NFC championship game. I think that would be the first time since 95, right? That they did. Oh my God. Right. And so it's a massive, massive drought. But I honestly don't think it's that far fetched to do that. I mean, so much can happen in a season, you know, you can, you can have injuries and so forth. But man, I just think hope is as high as it's been in a long time. And that's dangerous. That's dangerous because I think like if they, if they, like, let's say they come out and go, oh and four. Oh, I mean, I like it. If it's total disaster, so that's the giant season over. Like how? You know what I'm saying? They're playing in a week three game in Brazil to say it. It's the Ravens. Oh my God. It's a sucks so bad. If it's a must win game in Brazil. And you know, you have what happened? Like it just feels like everything should go well, which is the exact time that it would not go well.

What's the defense get torched? And once I just Christian Barker has a phone. Yeah. We were sold a bag of goods, right? I feel don't have an ad rush. I feel very confident they will not get run all over this year. That's what I feel very confident. There's the expectations. Don't get run. But keep in mind that you don't have a chance if every team start second and third. Like you just don't have a chance. And the other came third. Yeah, just if they pop seven yards every three. Yeah. Oh, sorry. Second three. There's just you don't have a chance because the other team never sees third down. So you're aft. Yeah. That's going to be different this year. If they can hold runners to three and a half to four yards, that would be different. That's their whole plan. That's their whole plan, but they stay have George pickens this year, maybe for one more year. I mean, if you're not going to have GP after this, your chances are better now than they will be next year. Yeah. And then the good thing that the cowboys have gone for them right now is there's as we know, there's not an electric substation right near their practice facility where everyone can just get hurt a lot.

I was happening with the 49ers who in Australia had a guy, Tara's Patelertenden, it practice in Australia. Because you got to go to Australia for tonight's game. Very strange. Meanwhile, the Rams are like, you know, let's just take a one day flight to Australia and then get back on a plane and go back. Why are we for now? Let's go. Let's acclimate to the kangaroos in the Australian climate. Where are we asking this question on the other day is it a shorter flight to Australia, Japan? We were talking about this because Ben might be blowing off his Japanese Christmas vacation, but then he may want to go see radio ahead in Japan or Australia in the summer. Chevy Chase movie that would be. Yeah. All right, man, it's so expensive. It's so freaking expensive. And spending money on teenagers is kind of fruitless. Yep. Because they don't seem appreciative and don't care. And so it's like just setting a pile of money on fire. It's like owning a shark aquarium. Yeah.

The spouse vacation is way better than taking your kids anywhere. Yeah. Okay, all they want to do is be on their phone. When do we go back? I want to, I want to text my friends in my room at home, not here. Yeah. Or I'm sorry, not text snapchat. Japan appears to be three hours shorter than Australia. Let's go. Are you serious? It's shorter? Yeah. Wow. Australia got to go away south. Oh. You got to go to Sydney. Just got a New Zealand. Well, I, I just know this. I know at this time of year, everybody's a super bowl champion in their fantasy league. Everyone's favorite team has a real shot in this year. For the first time in 30 years, I think it's okay to hope for the Cowboys. I think it's going to be a very, very special season. I'll say it. It's about. Unless it's not. And then it's going to be soul crushing. I feel good that they can win their division. That's the number one thing in the NFL, win your division first and then go from there. How's your fantasy team, dude? Man, I appreciate you asking that.

So hold on, Christina. Sorry. It's just so early. Hold on, Christina. He was going to tell us either what here's all what I'll say. And the highly prestigious Chris Riles cup. Formerly known as Landry, formerly known as the Landry Cup. One of the most prestigious fantasy leagues in the land. It's been going since 1994. People talk about this though. Weirdly. I am. Yes. I am the reigning champ. Oh, let's go. So I'll bring the trophy up here so you guys can get a look at it. Just wear sunglasses. You will be blinded by it. Thank you for asking though. I'd ask you about your fantasy teams, but I don't care. Well, I have too many. Yep. I did you really ask? No. He asked. Why'd you do that? Because someone was asking me earlier. Who? About who? About who wanted to go for big like it? Like it's for the morning. Yeah. Someone woke up in four in the morning and asked you about your fantasy team. I really see. It's every day runs into each other. There's a lot of excitement out there.

A lot of buzz. All right. Coming up next, we'll officially get this party started by taking the morning news dump. Where are you going to take us with that, Katie? Is AI going to kill us? Let's celebrate next on Lone Star 92 5. Good morning, everybody. It's the Ben and Skinshow on Lone Star 92 5. And yes, we do have ZZ Top Tickets to give away today. Be listening for your chance to win. We're also going to have a pair, actually two pair to give away in person Friday when we do the show from pluckers. We're doing our house of Haymaker Sports Podcast at 11 o'clock at the pluckers at Greenville and lovers. And we want you to come in person, hang out with us, have lunch, eat some wings, and we'll have some ZZ Top Tickets to give away as well as some other stuff. So we hope to see you Friday at 11 o'clock in Dallas. But right now it's time for this. Good morning here. The guy's got a bad name. His name is Jacob Coxen.

What sounds like something, Flex would have said. It does. Jacob Cox, to Jacob Coxen. Jacob Coxen's old job was being a researcher for an AI company called Anthropic. Here's his tweet because he went on a little, he had a little chaotic tweet spread. Our resign from Anthropic today, I spent the last three years doing a pre-training research at both Open AI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They're racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below. Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything. Revolution of life. Meet the Red Bull Dragonberry Emergizer. It's one of the many new drinks out now. Who knew ice cold drinks could be so fire? Try them all only at McDonald's. Ice any field overnight and acquire real power and resources. We've all witnessed the progress in each of these domains and progress is not slowing.

These people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible. But I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger. Yeah. I saw that in a red quite a few of those. Not a great way to spend your time. It really feels like the Terminator. The movie, the Terminator is maybe a documentary and that's exactly how things are going to go. SkyNet is active and yeah, these AI and robots are going to bring us all down. The one thing I want to know about that guy is did we confirm that he for sure worked there because it could just be, it could just be some random dude. It had like 60 million views, maybe more than that, right? So probably it's real, I guess. But if that's the case and I would doubt it, if in the interest of winning this race but harming humanity along the way, if you can hack anything, they could bring down the banking

system. If they could hack into nuclear weapons and fire them off. I mean, it could basically take over, right? Like that we're giving the keys to robots who don't have souls. Yeah. I mean, they easily could go in there, hack all the banking system, collect all the money and put it in a separate account that the AI controls. Then what? Mm-hmm. That and I'm worried about deep fakes as well. Like them doing a video of what looks like our president doing something, saying something and us all believing that's actually. That actually already happens. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is bad. It's going to have bad path here. We don't really have guard rails for it. Technology is moving faster than any of us can even handle as humans and the corporate greed will continue to just be such an endeavor. It's such a rat race to see who can be highest in the chain. I watched a movie the other day for the first time in my life, the social network. It's a great movie. I was like, man, this is crazy. Man, the next one's going to be crazier, because they have a new one coming out in October.

Right. There's also a movie about this. Because the guy that I kind of think shouldn't be allowed to walk among us anymore is Sam Altman. The guy who runs open AI. He, I mean, if you've ever seen him in any interview, he has dead eyes. He has no soul. He talks about this stuff in a way that you're like, okay, this guy does not care about anybody's children here. There's the future of anything. And they're about to make a movie about him that he tried to stop being made. Andrew Garfield will star in it as him. And he tried to go to Amazon, but don't release it. Don't release it because it makes him look horrible. He's a bad guy. So the primary thought on this trend or this idea of who these tech bros are is that they're all hyper intelligent and they're all in the spectrum. And since they're functioning highly on the spectrum, their emotional connectivity isn't there. And that's why the things that we just as normal people think about, oh, yeah, I mean, wouldn't you be concerned about this or this?

They don't have that moral compass because of where they function on the spectrum, which is like, if you think about like what you've seen the way Elon presents himself, Elon's hyper intelligent, a lot of those people that are hyper intelligent are on the spectrum and that connectivity and ain't there. And those are like the seven or eight guys that are running this, all these companies, they have so much, they have as much power as governments now, governments acquiesce to the tech companies because of how much power they possess. It's crazy. They all struggle with women too. Yes. No, if you ask AI is AI going to kill us, the response is not comforting. Oh, no. What does it say? Probably not. Probably not. Okay. Probably not. It's like a magic eight ball. Probably not try again. All right. There you have it. Will AI kill us all? Cybernet is active. All right. Coming up next is the today game followed by the original Star Wars is making news.

We'll talk about all of that next morning. Everybody, it is the Ben and Skin show on Lone Star 92 five. We're about 15 minutes away from some nice good, hardy laughs. And once again, Tim Tibo will make us laugh. The legendary Florida quarterback. Boy, he was not a very good broadcaster. Don't forget tomorrow, we will be at Pluckers for lunch. 11 o'clock doing the House of Haymaker podcast. We'll be talking sports. Haven't lunch with you. We'll have ZZ top tickets. Plan on meat and us tomorrow for lunch. 11 o'clock at Pluckers, lovers and Greenville. But right now it's time for this. It's a team. It's in a team and I never take the ball. All right. Star Wars guys. Get some good news for you. Going time. It's in 2027. The original 1977 Star Wars film. 50 years after. You guys going to buy tickets today of? That's going to be harder to get than the Odyssey tickets and I still haven't seen

the Odyssey. They're also doing this in like to help promote Star Wars Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling that comes out next year. What? I didn't know about this. I didn't either. There's another Star Wars movie coming. Star Wars is kind of over done at this point. No, they haven't. You watch your mouth. You dirty bitch. You guys keep it up with everything going on. I haven't seen any of it in like 10 years. I heard the one of the ones recently was good. Yeah. A lot of them like I don't know. Baby Yoda want to watch that for a while. She didn't really. It got old after watching. Even look realistic. But there was one. I don't know. Han Solo origin story or something that was apparently well received. Okay. There. Wait. There's one. Yeah. You're right. Not the Han Solo one, but it was like that. Yeah. Okay. And then I remember a childish game being a Donald Glover to the Land of Calisthene one better. Right. It was well received or not. I don't grow good. Can often be seen. Baby Yoda.

Can often be seen. Looking at porn in the lobby of a Starbucks. No. Is that right? Often. Yeah. I don't know. Like there's a bunch of. Yeah. I just looked up. I think the Mandalorian is what Ben was trying to think of. I don't know. That's not it either. Pedro Pascal. Okay. It's yeah. I was trying to think of the show as well because we watched the first two episodes and then we were out. I'll be back in when they finally come up with the Greedo origin story. That's the one I've been waiting on. Star Wars. A new hope in IMAX February. Hell yeah. So that's not even like 20 to 20, but early 2027. It's like five months away. Yeah. Yeah. Andora was the one. Andora. Andora. Andora.

Andora. Andora. Andora. Andora. Andora. Andora. Andora. Okay. I don't think so. I don't know. Hard to know, man. I think it underscores your original point. There's so much Star Wars stuff out there. I just, I don't keep up with it. But I am because of the impact the original had on my life. I will try to go see Star Wars at IMAX. Well, I know Marvel's got a new movie coming out, Doom Day at the end of the year, and Robert Downing Jr. Jr. has been recast to be someone else in the Marvel Universe. That's what you know. That's what it's- You've jumped the shark. Yeah. He went from being one of the best good guys to one of the bad guys. How can you do that? So if Mark Hamill was recast as someone else in the Star Wars universe, you'd get you guys to be like the hell. What's going on? No more saying this has happened. But it's just wild. And Ryan Gosling in anything. In. So whatever. I want to start fight or cool. He's great. Yeah. I got to go see that. Hell Mary.

He's good in space movies too. You know, project Hell Mary, you still haven't seen it? I haven't seen it. Hope. Yeah. He's got to get away from the space movies now. He's doing a Star Wars movie as well. Yeah. So you get type cast. Yeah. Space guy. I mean, what? What else? He's done it all. He's been a driver. He's on in Dance Man. He's been a song in Dance Man. He's been a sports player. Yeah. He's been Ken. God, he was great as Ken. He was. So good. Really funny. And he kind of did music in that. So like, he can't do. Maybe he could do like, worn down rock star guy. That's his thing. That's how he started, right? When he make you mouse guy like song dance man. Yeah. That was the other movie I watched. I watched a lot, a lot land day of the day too. I still haven't seen that. But did Ben's point, that original crew that Gosling, it was like him, Timber Lake, Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, we're all on the same damn Disney show. Yeah. How crazy is that? For a child star. Oh, yeah. DeGrosse. For a child star. Kind of got it together. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's good point. Him and Kenan Thompson, the two that made it out.

God bless them. Cool. Whatever. Him and Kenan Thompson. Kill. Kill. He has to show down the hall right now. Yeah. He's still around. He's a guy that'll come around around super full time. Yeah. Coming up next. Some of the most important Tim T-bow audio you've ever heard. Don't miss it. Before we get there, I want to say thank you to our friends at prize picks. Prize picks. A guy makes one of all baseball announcers and it's worth a listen. And was I vindicated by an NFL great? That's all coming your way here momentarily, but right now it's time for this. All right, I'm going to give you a little snippet of something we played last week. We played you the motivational speech that Tim Teebo, the former Heisman winning quarterback, gave to a Tennessee team for a few years ago in ESPN that's always stuck with us. Alabama's better than you, but let me tell you one thing that you better, that they better not be better at you then.

And that's called heart. It's called courage, courage. How much you care? Everybody wants to talk about discipline and hard work and all these things. I don't believe in them. This is a wild thing. Hey, and they better not be better at you than than heart. Yeah, he was falling down a hill. And music kept him going. And you know, he was known for giving big motivational speeches and they were trying to milk that on the ESPN set. Then Ben told his story. And he was like, I'm going to give you a little bit of a look at this. I'm going to give you a little bit of a look at this. And they were trying to milk that on the ESPN set. Then Ben told his story of his awkward interaction with Tim Tivo when he interrupted in a poor conversation to ask him if Percy Harvin, his white receiver, was the real deal. Yeah, but not asking by name to say that a little water. I couldn't remember his name, which I implore anyone to go ask, you know, your spouse, your partner, your roommate, whatever. Ask them if someone is the real deal and just record it and send it to me. And refer to them as a little water bug.

Yeah. Is that a little water bug, you know, the real deal. So that was like something that we had had a think of at Tim Tivo for a while last week for some reason. I think it on her football being back. What's the time that his partnership with the ESPN and ABC carried over to you? You know, it'd be a good idea. What if we had Tim Tivo do a bunch of charity hits on Good Morning America? I mean, look at how good straight hand is when we put them on these shows. Surely any other NFL player can just be plugged in. So, but instead of putting them in the studio, they sent him out to do field reporting, which I would argue is much harder. And they sent him out to a elementary school because we're going to award the teachers and the students for doing a good job. You go into school, you got lucky, hit the jackpot. Good morning, America is here. Pretty great day. Kids love Good Morning, America. And here is how it went. What's up, Timberlake, Rachel, and Manthree? How are we doing? Are you excited? I can't hear you.

Are you excited? Okay. I'm going to stop it because I love going, are you excited? I can't hear you. Make some noise. Shut up. Too loud, guys. Too loud. Don't say you can't hear them. And then, Shush, the sheets are confused. He is kind of turning into a Tim Robinson character. You know, trying to get everybody hyped up and then shutting them up. Are you excited? Okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Let's use our inside voices. All right. Guess what? When we finish, we have an awesome breakfast from Edgewood, Bakerie. And it will be delicious. And guess what? Your teacher might even let you eat some dessert.

Okay, hold on. Kids don't get excited about a corporate breakfast. And then, there is no breakfast dessert. What are you talking about? It's just more breakfast. Kids, give it up for an nutritional breakfast from this corporate restaurant. Kids are way into the Edgewood bakery. They all know what it is. They're all big into it. It's like he said, too. If you're good, though, with this breakfast, if you're good, if you behave and eat your breakfast, though, you're supposed to, you might get a dessert. This is a weird thing. They're either going to eat it or they're not. They're kids. And it will be delicious. And guess what? And it will be delicious. And it will be delicious. And it will be. What is he saying? Some breakfast from Edgewood bakery and it will be delicious. And guess what? Your teachers might even let you eat some dessert. But the surprises aren't just for you students. We also have some awesome surprises for you teachers because we know how hard it is sometimes

and how stressful it can be. So, Massage Invy, come on out. But you're also getting gift certificates to Massage Invy for any time you like. She's got it. When he says Massage Invy, come on out. I imagine some giant inflatable like mascot, but I don't know what it would be. Is it a towel or just comes walking out of lotion? It's a instant stick. Massage Invy for any time you like. Hey guys. And for all you students, all of you also get sports authority, $25 gift certificates that you can use for anything that you want. $25. I'm going to drive your own up. I don't have a concept of money.

It's amazing. He's just going to stumble through the coffee points. I'm going to send it to the next cards. I just wish I could see the production room as that's going on. He's like the director and the... What camera do you want me to go to? It's an disaster. It seems to end. I think you need to try to get him on the show. Because I could relive the Deon Sanders party story with him and get his thoughts on these pieces of audio. I'm going to talk and then this thing with the kids and just get him to give us his feedback as to what was happening. Let's just to TimTibo.com. You can invite him to speak at your place when you speak on our radio show. I was going to say just trick him and tell him it's a ministry. And then he will jump right on. All right. There you have it. TimTibo on Good Morning America. Coming up next. I am vindicated by an NFL great. And you got to hear this guy making fun of baseball and answers. That's all coming your way next on Loanstar 92.5. Before we get there, I want to say thank you to our friends at Center Gen X. Look, the summer heat can wear anybody out.

But if you've been feeling drained, even when you're inside in the air conditioning, it may not just be the heat. One in four men has low testosterone. It affects your energy, sex drive, motivation, mood and more. Yeah. And you don't have to just accept that. You don't have to settle for feeling less than your best. You can move forward by getting an appointment today with Center Gen X. Go to Center Gen X dot com. S Y N E R G E N X dot com and book your appointment today. Good morning, everybody. It is the Ben and skin show on Loanstar 92.5. The segment right here is brought to you by Frankl and Frankl. Long time friends and partners of our show. That partnership goes back to 2008, but they have been advocates for injury victims for 30 plus years. They've been doing this a long time. They're great at it. And they're going to take good care of you with no out of pocket expenses. Call the Frankl's first 2143333333. But right now, let's do this. He's an irrational quick trigger nuclear overreactor. He's a masterful storyteller who consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.

It's time for now, trending and Ben. So I stumbled across this this morning. And I think most people know this. Almost all baseball announcers have the same cadence. They have the similar delivery. And I don't know, even our good friend Jared Sandler, when you listen to him, you know, he's doing the thing. He's calling a baseball game. And he's one of the best in the country. You can sense this kind of, I don't know, this, this poetic delivery. It's almost, I don't even know how you describe it. It's a cadence. It's a smoothness. It's one guy talking, just kind of taking you through, setting the tone. Here's what's going on. And then there's baseball happening. And there's sometimes they'll be talking like this. And sometimes they'll be talking like this. I mean, it's, is that a good way to describe it? It's flowing to each other. Also, they're, you know, they all go for a similar vocal tone or what you would call tamber. And a lot of it is nasally.

Yeah. Like they're, like it's been dry. It's like the cadence. Also there is a tone that they're trying to strike because whoever did it first that way, kind of set the standard in the dead. Yeah. And then people start kind of emulating it. For the head wound, the Catholic Gonzales. Yeah. It's, it's nasally, it's but it's, it's there. It's like, yeah. Anyways, stumbled across this guy. He's not even saying real words. He's just sitting in his car. And he's saying that all baseball and answers sound like this. MoriBobiotty with the flop with the flashlight on. Babilo's sound Twenty之後可能 just make a Dieu he's a problem say what she's doing wow cobalt fool so Yoo pretty good But it's so much like there's little notes that you have like a lot of research.

Baseball is a Jesus too many stats. You can just use them whenever in their perfect little filler. Feesitting 275 on the season. It goes into it. You know, it's very, I don't know. I always, I loved doing baseball play by play when I did it and I quit before, you know, I got two old. But I love doing that one because it's the one that felt more like a talk show. Yeah. Basketball, it's hold on for dear life. Pastes, it's a different. It's crazy, you know, it's always action. Baseball, there's a lot of waiting. Yeah. Casual. So I got another piece of audio. This is former NFL coach Mike Tomlin. Turns out he plays video games. Can I just say this real quick because he's going to, I don't want to jump on anything here. But we do have to say back in the day on a different station, we would sometimes get to travel to Cowboys training camp, Ranger Spring training. I don't even remember which trip this was, but we lost been for 24 hours. He played Minecraft all night.

I can't remember which camera was been Ironman. It was Minecraft through the night. Yeah. And he's like, I had so much last night. I had a great time doing it too. I'm glad I brought it on the trip. Well, you've been vindicated. I'm a big Minecrafter. Oh, by the way, Mike Tomlin, the coolest NFL coach ever too. Just kind of a badass. Like everyone loves him besides Steelers fans. I'm a big Minecrafter. I didn't know you were a game, either. Because my kids were. Got it. And so how do I connect with them? How do I meet them where they are and spend time with them? I started playing Minecraft, man. When my kids were young, I have a Minecraft city. I'm creative, man, that I've been working on for like 12 years. Still 12 years. And the kids have long gone. Hey, do they still play too? Hey, no, but when they come home, they're like, they're like, hey, they have to put your city up. Now, let me see what's up.

Oh my gosh. Like my kids have, they've, they've, they've taken it from PS3 to PS4 to PS5. Yeah. Like they're in the preserving it because they know I don't have the technical knowledge. You know, but we've been talking recently about, about sharing it with the world. Like my oldest son is like, dad, you got to share this with the world. They would bring the internet. They would bring the internet. People need to see this city that you've been working on for 12 years. And so we've been talking about a reason. You have to. We've been talking about recently, like, how am I going to share it with the world? Oh, we can, you can do it right now. You know what I mean? And so you can do it right here on the table and the podcast. I got this. I got this. I was trying to get those ratings. Dude, I was just sitting there going, God, that guy sounds like Al Roker. It's the other guy. It's Craig Melvin. Oh, yeah. Okay. Oh, he's the one that says sweet potato poon to Al Roker. Yes. Okay. Yes, yes, yes. Okay. Would it break the internet? No, I mean, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if it break it.

Everybody like man, Tomlin's been doing that. Do you know that? Nope. Okay. What else is going on? It would be pretty cool to see what he built. Yeah. 12 years building a city like how big is it? What all does it? What all did he put there? Steelers fans like and we can't win a playoff game. Yeah. Okay. No. Oh, there you go. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Come on. All right. There you have it. There is now trending in Ben coming up next. There is a cock fighting scandal that demands our attention. Don't miss it. Before we get there, thank you to our friends that rely on air conditioning 877, your hero. That's the number to call. Every line air conditioning I call to do the service on your air conditioning systems. Look, it's too damn hot here in DFW. We know that hopefully your air conditioning system is working, hitting on all cylinders. But it's very much like an engine. And if you're not changing the oil in an engine, you're going to have problems. That's what the routine maintenance does to your heating and air conditioning system. It extends the life and makes sure everything's working smoothly. Then you don't have to replace it as soon as you do after replace it.

You should reach out to rely on air conditioning just because they're gimmick free. They send a technician on the service call 877, your hero 877, your hero, tell them Ben and skin sent you to rely on air conditioning. Yes. Indeed. And when it is time to get that new air conditioning unit, you need to get it from a line air conditioning because oftentimes they can combine rebates and save you thousands of dollars. They're fair, fair and transparent with their pricing. They're going to encourage you to get quotes from their competitors. Every step of this along the way is making sure you're informed and you feel comfortable to what's going on. That's how they operate. 877, your hero that's 877, 968, 743, 7 or check them out online at relyonairconditioning.com. Hey, I have a quick question. You all just mentioned pot chose. Does poncho still exist in Dallas? Here alone just got funny. Ben and skin, morning, 6 still 9 on low star 92.5. You know, I don't know if poncho still exists.

There was one over in Richardson right off central expressway and that's one we would always go to. That's the best one if I remember correctly. Raise the flag and man, when you're young person in this world and you don't have a bunch of money and you maybe high and you just want you got the munchies and you just need to go eat a huge amount of unhealthy food. Right. That was a great place to go, but it was one of those where you shouldn't like wait to get home for the toilet. You should go ahead and hit the toilet on your way out. Yeah, I would just get my food in their bathroom. Now after the show, I mean, it probably won't open until 10 or 11 so we may need to wait. Let's go to Northwest Highway. There's a poncho right over there. What? I love ponchos. I would love to go to ponchos. There's the audio of me last time I was there. That's the amount of ponchos bugle. Yeah. Oh. God. There's no way they were making money because the food was great. Right?

Well, and you can eat as much as you want. Okay. Right. You're having to say right is not really a good thing. I mean, what would you rather have? Ponchos are golden choral. Oh my God. Ponchos. Thank you. I've never had ponchos before. Yeah. And I haven't been to go golden choral since I was probably seven. I don't think they have anymore. Do they? I think after the pandemic is like there's no way to have this. Now there's a golden choral poncho superstore that are combined in one location. And there used to be like fights at golden choral all the time. Oh, really? Waffle like chair fights. Yeah. I don't know. All right. Uh, this segment is brought to you by our friends at Reliant Air conditioning 877, your hero. That's the number to call to have them service your air conditioning system. They'll send a technician, not a commission salesperson 877, your hero. All-Reline air conditioning and telling Ben and skin sent you. But right now it's time for this. Are you excited? Oh, it's time for business weekday of day featuring veteran news anchor Katie Von Tweets.

Yes. Yes. Hello. I've got a story that involves a cock fighting scandal. Hmm. There's a couple in Garland and they're going to have to pay $1.5 million. Yes. Because they were smuggling and selling steroids to cock fighting rings. Wow. Usually when we do cock fighting stories, it's like there was a cock fighting ring bust and three people right away on foot. And kind of in a rural area. Yeah. This is a couple in Garland. Here are their names. Tall dong. There's a guy's name, Tall dong. Tall dong. CHO, TOW. Because I've heard of dong TOW. But I've never heard of TOW dong. TOW, DONG. Oh, there's a W. And LAMMI. LAM, M-A-I. And yeah, selling drugs and pesticides. It sounds like you're ordering for the whole table.

I'll have the LAMMI. Is that you'll have the Dom tie? Can I get the sauce on the side? I would have two dong towels. Are they the heated dong towels? Could before I get any my land on my face. We got pork or shrimp. Gross. I'd like to be pork, please. Is it 100% LAMMI? Oh, I'm sorry. I'll have A6. Out now, who knew ice cold drinks could be so fire? Try them all only at my dogs. At Verbo, we understand that even the best of plans sometimes need a little support. So we plan for the plot twists. Every booking is automatically backed by our Verbo care guarantee, giving you confidence

from the very start. Whenever you need help, it's ready. Before you stay through the moments in between and after your trip. As a great trip, starts with peace of mind. And maybe a good playlist. But we've got the peace of mind part covered. I was just thinking about the idea of getting a legalized cop fighting ring and having a catered by ponchos. How bad ass would that be? That would be awesome. That would be great. Like, you could legal ego bed on cop fighting and get some ponchos right over there at the side. I mean, you could do it if you just, if you clamped their beaks and put little boxing gloves on their paws, you know, their claws. You raise the flag, that's how you finish it all. Or when to fight. And then they don't kill each other. They should beat the crap out of each other, right? Yeah. Then that, I mean, that's the problem. It's in your mind. You humans do it, right? You humans do it. Yeah. But then we just turn them into chicken fried steak right after, right? That is the thing that people, I can't believe you would do this to a chicken.

He passed me those chicken nuggets. So since 2011, man, towel, don since 2011 has been using several online platforms to sell these drugs to people engaged in cock fighting. She is not a veterinarian. That's fair. So she's just a person out there. Wait, what a wild scheme to get into because you're just like ostensibly related to the cock fighting. What? Did you say writing? You know about writing, right? Right. Right. Right. I got to handle myself with rings. Yeah. I got to handle myself with rings. Yeah. I got to handle myself with rings. Yeah. I got to handle myself with rings. Yeah. I got to handle myself with rings. Yeah. That's pretty good. So what you're saying is that lady's like, look, I'm not formally educated on this, but I do dabble in animal medicine. Yeah, right? Crazy. Very crazy. So they're going to pay 1.5 million dollars. But they have it.

It says she obtained between 2018 and 2012 obtained more than $2.5 million worth of smuggled merchandise. Wow. Dine. I didn't know the biggin. I didn't know there was that much money rather in rooster steroids. Right. I know. I know. At least the research was done. Yeah. This is not done on a whim. Now she could have gone ahead and get certified as a veterinarian. Then maybe you don't get in trouble. Probably what still get trouble. I don't think that doctors should be prescribing. Yeah. Steroids to broosters to go fight. Fight. No, you don't know. Yep. You could say you didn't know that they're fighting. You thought they might just been lifting weights. You didn't know that they were going to go fight each other. I thought they were training for track and field. I didn't really know what this was. All right. There you have it. You're going to be a track fighting scandal coming up next, Christine. Where are you going to take us in the cookie job? We're going to talk about autographs next on Lone Star 92.5. Before we do, thank you to our friends at Frankl and Frankl Mark Frankl, Scott Frankl

and Jean Brickett. Those are the three partners at Frankl and Frankl. Very good at what they do. If you've been involved in a wreck, you need the Frankl's. They handled my case. They did a great job for me. You've seen them all over town. You see them on buses. You see them on TV. Hear them on the radio. See them on social media. They're everywhere because they're so freaking talented, so good at what they do. But these are good friends of ours as well. And they can help you with your case. For me, I was lucky to be alive. I had wrecked. I was on the tollway. It wasn't my fault. I called the Frankl's from the scene. 214, all threes. They handled everything. They fought the other side, set up the MRIs, X-rays and physical therapy. And at the end of it all, Frankl and Frankl got me a nice cash settlement. Yes. They have been doing this for 30 plus years with no out of pocket expenses to their clients. Man, they do such a good job. They're awesome dudes. We are big fans and we are friends with those guys, Mark Scott and Gene, the partners, in the firm that will take good care of you. Give them a call at 214, 3333333 or 817 and all threes, 33333333333 for our friends,

Frankl and Frankl, chosen by the people and feared by the insurance companies. F-R-E-N-K-E-L. Call Frankl first. Good morning, everybody. I'm Ethan Skin Show on LoneStar 92.5. In the next hour, we'll give away ZZ Top Tickets and we got a couple of pair to give away in person on Friday. At 11 o'clock, we're going to be doing a live podcast of our sports show, The House of Haymaker on the Haymaker Network. It's a collaboration between LoneStar 92.5, the Haymaker Network and Pluckers. We want to see you there for lunch on Friday. Lovers in Greenville, come on down, get some wings, maybe even drink a cold big German that's from Roller Town, Bearworks, which is the brewery that Ben and I are partners in. Hang out for some sports talk in good times and maybe win some ZZ Top Tickets. Good stuff happening on Friday, but right now it's time for this.

So, Tate Mimpala is a band that would do not play on LoneStar, probably never will. I would say they're like an alt indie band. You're going to see them a week from tonight. Are you? We might end up playing them off their first couple albums in 20 years. Okay. How long have they been around? Because in my mind, I'm like, maybe 10 years. Look at longer than that because they started. Wait, 10ish. Yeah, they started. For so many, I think they started as a jam, like a psych jam band. Okay. And then they kind of morphed into more like bead or an adent stuff. But I remember one of the Ben and I when we were, I guess he's with the ESPN days going in the Cowboys locker room. We befriended Cowboy punner, Matt McBrire and he was a big tame and poly fan and he came to their concert at Grenada and he brought, you know, he didn't even ask for favors and

he brought his very pregnant wife and we saw how pregnant she was. We're like, we got him in the little section off balcony section because we knew Mike over there. Yeah. And it was just like, wow, this cowboy didn't even ask for favors. He just showed up at the tame and polish show. And I've never seen them live. I'm assuming that their fan base is on the younger side like our age KT since you're going to see them. And that's going to come into play here in a second, just the age of their fan base. So Kevin Parker of tame and Paula just put up a post the other day and he said, dude, to the rise of aggressive autographed hounds. I won't be signing anything or doing photos out the front of hotels or at airports at all anymore. So if you happen to catch me, please don't be offended if I say no. I wasn't that passionate about it before, but they've started using kids, which I think is all kinds of wrong. He said on that note, just again, know that I'm going to turn you down if you're asking for an autograph. He said the numbers were getting out of control and we don't have the security to manage

it. Aside from the obvious security risk, if you think about it, so my team has advised me to stop giving out autographs. And so my takeaway from this was first off, that does suck if someone wants to get a photograph with, I mean, Kevin Parker of tame and Paula, if you were to see him out in the wild, that's huge. I would see Jack White out in the wild. I would immediately want to photograph with him. But the autograph thing, I was like, I, once the last time you guys got an autograph, I mean, I think athletes, that's probably a go-to, but a musician. I remember the last autograph I got. I can remember how old I was and where it was. I was in seventh grade. My dad took me to the Southwest Conference Basketball Tournament in Houston, the year that it was in Houston. And I had the program and I got the autograph of every player I saw. And I had this thing and then when it was over, I was like, whatever. And I never got another autograph again. You know, the last one I remember getting was Norm Hitzkes.

I got, he signed a Maverick's Box score for me. That's cool. I got a game, which I think I still have. That's awesome. That's awesome. But I don't remember one after that. Thank you, little boy. Yeah, definitely I could kid thing I thought. I guess it's not, I thought the phones are getting a photo with someone as almost ended autograph. Yeah, I thought about that too. I agree, because like he's mentioned here, usually the only people I see getting autographs are the people who are going to put it up on eBay. Right. The very next day. The memorabilia stuff. Right. I want you to leave that picture, I just sent you Christine. I sent it to Ben and KT2. I don't know if you guys if I've sent this to you before. Do you see it? OK. Describe what you're seeing there. It's a group of people just hanging out in a parking lot. One guy is sitting down with an acoustic guitar and a beer and a badass afro. And the other guys are just kind of chilling, looking real cool. That is Tayman Paula in October of 2013. Wow. And over to the far right is my nephew and his girlfriend. We were going to the show and they're opening for the national.

And they were just sitting out there playing. And I was like, hey, are you guys OK? Have I got a picture with my nephew? And they're like, yeah, go ahead because they're all Australian or whatever. Awesome. So yeah, so think about that. That was 13 years ago. They're just sitting outside playing and enjoying themselves. Now they're making announcements that you cannot approach me. Because they just got popular and people are aggressive and want to take advantage of stuff. Wow. Is that the band you all played basketball with? Now that was a Bonnie there. And actually, it's funny. Bonnie there is like basically one dude Justin, what's his environment? And he ended up doing stuff with Taylor Swift and all this stuff. But his project was Bonnie there. The guys in his band were the biggest group of nerds I have ever seen that have never held a basketball. And they still wanted to play. They still want to be and the lead singer just was really good. So he just wanted to go school. He just wanted to go. And so we played with them. I was like, wow, this guy's good. Those other guys can't catch a basketball. And they're all 411.

But yeah, that was pretty nice. That's awesome. All right. Thank you, Christina. That was good. Yep. All right. Coming up next, we are going to touch base with one of our favorite characters. Where are you going to take us, Mr. Sports? Well, guys, we've got a situation developing up in Oklahoma next alongside 925. Good morning, Katie from Down the Street. I'm listening live. I'm just checking in. That'll have a great day. DFW mornings powered by Jolly Ranchers and Diet Coke and Ben and Skin Morning 6 to 9. Lone Star 92 5. Good morning everybody. This is the world famous Ben and Skin Show. If you want to interact with the show and hear your voice on the radio, all you got to do is go to the I Heart app, find Lone Star 92 5, start streaming it and you'll see a little red microphone up in the top right corner. It's called the Talkback button. Click on that red microphone and you'll basically be able to leave us a voice message any time

you'd like. We always get them. We can go through them and we'll play them on the air. So tell us if you want to react to something, have it on the show. If you just want to talk about what you're hearing, if you're digging the show, if you're not liking it, whatever we want to include you in the presentation. So go leave us a talk back so we can do exactly that. Coming up here in 10 minutes, Kevin Costner versus Cal Ripken Jr. What? Now it's time for this. Mr. Sports, my body is now. Mr. Sports, I will get him down south. He's the man when he comes to sports. Let's ask Christmas sports. Thank you. So Mr. Sports has a little something for you today that involves Oklahoma State football, which is weird. But we like funny bet payoffs. As long as people are held accountable. There's a lot of excitement in Stillwater, Oklahoma because they have 19 players who were on the UNT football team last year and couldn't the coach in their 25 year old GM who was,

you know, largely responsible for making UNT very good last year. They're all going to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma State. It's like a new beginning. We're going to be good. We already got a good team that almost made it to the playoffs last year and then they got beat by Tulsa. So the internet has found this video, this kid who apparently goes to school at Oklahoma State and he was pretty cocky about how Oklahoma State was going to be this year. He's saying, I'm so confident that I'll do a bet payoff for every loss they do this year. Oh. So now I have the audio of some of his bet payoffs beginning with the week one loss to Tulsa. Eric Morris and the Oklahoma State Cowboys will go 12 and 0 this football suit. I'm so confident that if we lose even one game, I will do a punishment for that loss. For the first game of the season against Tulsa, if we lose, I will lock myself in a raisin canes for 24 hours straight and for every chicken strip, I eat. I'll take off one hour of the total time. Yeah. So he's got to do that. The chicken strip challenge is the way easier to do than the pancake challenge.

Just an hour. Well, yeah, every chicken strip reduces an hour of the 24 hours you would be. And you know, they're not going to stay open for you. No, I do. So if you eat 10 chicken strips, you're still there 14 hours. Yeah. But you know, that's easy. Yeah, that's not bad. It ain't the pancake challenge. No, it's way easier. Like just get the chicken down. No fries. You're just drinking a little water. Yeah, I think that's because he has his phone with them too or like a book or something. I don't know about that. And how is this good? That's nice. How is this good? A little vacation. Yeah. How is this good for raising games? They're kind of like, we don't want you here, dude. Yeah, go away, man. We're not your punishment. I think I would be there for five hours. So four or five hours, right? You know, eat 19 chicken strips. I think I could get out of there. I think I could get that many in that time. Yeah. They're good. Good chicken strip. Oh, yeah. Divide it up.

Knock out some emails. Get back. Let's have another big box combo. I want to dip it in gravy and that just makes it even harder. Can't sauce. Yeah. Problem is, I really love their toast. Oh, that Texas toast. This bread will fill you up quick. Okay, so week two Oklahoma State plays Oregon. And they're like 26.00 dogs. So this could get bad. For the second game of the season, if we lose the organ, I will run one mile for every point they beat us by. Oh, okay. So that's a weird marathon. We're hoping Oregon beats Oklahoma State by 50 now, right? Yes. And he's got to do this. A double marathon. For a guy who's probably not trained. No, not trained at all. His account blown up with us a little bit. I mean, not crazy, but a little bit. I'm sure he won't do it, but we'll see. Oh, I bet he will. It gets a little worse for him. Game three, Murray State. If we lose, I will transfer to Murray State. Ah. Ah. I had to go level. Dude, what if Murray State falls off the upside? Yeah. I've never pulled for a team harder than the hell

and from Murray State in a week and a half. For the fourth game of the season, our big pulp opener against West Virginia. If we lose, I will get dropped on a random country road and I'll have to find my way back home without navigation. Yeah. OK. Country road to West Virginia theme works out pretty good. Yeah. Game A. I will stay. If we lose, I'll be put inside a trash can filled with flour and oil and pushed down in hill. Extimulate what it would be like in a side front. I think you'd say simulate. Yeah. So I don't be stimulated too. Flour and oil and then pushed down a hill. That would be terrible. What is this guy's making some really bad decisions? Game 9. If we lose the case state, I will do a cat food model where I eat one can of wet cat food per lap. Oh. All right. That's gross. We did the beer model that sucked. I'm front of the milk mile, Brendan. The cat food model. The cat food model is so worse. Who is the opponent? I forgot. Case state? Yeah. Thank you, B. Case state.

I got two more. You don't know. Game 10. Texas Tech. If we lose, I will eat one extra large flour tortilla for every point they beat us. Texas Tech is going to destroy them. That is so filling. Oh, man. Yeah. Corner flour. He said flour. OK. Game 11, ASU. If we lose, I will get a bikini wax and a spray tan. And finally, game 12. If we lose the Kansas, I will rock chalk and beat an entire container of sidewalk chalk. Oh, my God. It's weird. This is really fun to watch now. It is. This is awesome, man. Thank you, Mr. Sports. Coming up next, let's crank up the way back machine. Remember that time, Kevin Costner got into Cal Ripken, Jr. I don't either. Let's hear about it next. Before we get there, thank you to our friends at Parrish Roofing, Big Storms hit us in DFW all the time, Hale and High Winds. If you haven't had anybody up on your roof in a while to check it to make sure it's water tight,

well, you could have water seeping into your home because of Hale or High Winds, because of damage to your roof. That's happening. It could lead to very expensive repairs. Call Randy Parrish at Parrish Roofing 214-227-8488. Yeah, tell Randy that you heard about him on the bin and skin show, probably someone with the last name of Parrish is gonna answer the phone when you call 214-227-8488. Because it is truly a family business from here, from North Texas, Randy with the high school here in the Metroplex and then his head this company with his name on it. My dad always said this man, if you put your name on something, you really need to stand behind that work and that's exactly what Randy does. He's been doing it for over a decade. You can count on him whether it's the roof, the fence, the windows. He can help you with financing. He can sometimes guide you on how to lower your out of pocket obligations. He is the man. He has been in skin approved. Don't call anybody else. Call Randy Parrish. Check him out online at ParrishRoofingSolutions.com or give him a call 214-227-8488.

Good morning everybody. It's the Benin Skin Show right here on Loanstar 925. Let's give away those easy top tickets. You gotta use the talkback feature on the iHeart app when you're streaming our station. And leave a talkback with your name, your phone number, your email address, and the first person that can tell us, where are we gonna do our special presentation of House of Haymaker tomorrow? It's at one of our favorite restaurants. We've been talking about it the whole show. If you know and you're the first to tell us, you're gonna win those easy top tickets today. How cool is that? But right now, it's time for this. It's time to go home, folks. It's time to go into the Benin Skin Show Wayback machine. Talked a lot about some urban legends like the Richard Geer, Gerberal situation, the Rod Stewart's stomach pump story. We don't know if they're fully true or not. But what we haven't talked about includes one of Hollywood's biggest actors and an all-time baseball grade. Here's my Rekaurip and Junior. I played for the Orioles for many years. Iron Man. I remember him. You see the AC Green of baseball.

He really was. 2,632 straight games. And I actually did a little math on last night. That's over 16 full 162 game seasons. There's a lot of times over. He'd gone there and just taken it back. I've never missing a single game. Okay, there's skin. Tagged down, Kaurip and Junior. It had. Right? Kaurip and Junior. I'm more of a Billy Ripken Junior guy. I think we all are F-face. Now I'd like to bring in Kevin Costard at the story though. Because he made field of dreams and bull Durham for the love of the game. He's always ostensibly been related to baseball. So the greatest movie's ever made. What we never won, too, where he was like a baseball talk show host or something. I don't know. But we know he loves baseball. We know he has the key to the city of Irving. Those are what we know. And Yellowstone. Yellowstone, dude, he was incredible. So Costard and Kaurip and Junior met at the premiere of Dances with Wolves. I just watched Dances with Wolves the other night. Oh my God, me too. Ben watched it with them there at the premiere. Who was announcing that day? Listen to it.

It sounds like a live audience. I just watched Dances with Wolves the other night. I thought it was when you were accepting that award and that was part of your speech. Guys, I just watched Dances with Wolves the other night and reminded me of the important lesson. Now I could sit here and tell this story, but look. Too much of an ego here. Let's have the Annie a little bit and bring in Will Ferrell. He might know a little more than me about this. And he's on a podcast called Don't Tell Mama. This is a couple of years ago. But I wanted to do this because we've reached another milestone, the anniversary of Kaurip and breaking that streak. That's why we're doing this. Here's Will Ferrell. I don't know if I'm that conspiratorial. There are moments where I'm like, hmm, that seems like that could go. Yeah, yeah. Do you have one in particular that comes to mind? Here's one that I feel like kind of checks out. Kaurip Conjunior, for anyone who remembers or was a big baseball fan, there was a point in his streak

and it was getting towards the end where the game was called due to the electricity going out in the Baltimore baseball scene. And they had to call the game. There was a power outage and the story is that Kaurip Con came home to find Kevin Costner cheating. Oh, no. His wife cheating with Kevin Costner. They had a fight. He heard his hand. Whoa. He's like, I can't play tonight. They're like, okay, what about the streak? I know the powers out. Cut the lights. Cut the lights. And then they had a couple of days and it allowed him for the hand to heal up and the streak continued. Whoa. I believe that. Okay. Yeah, do y'all believe it? I don't believe they had a couple of off days. Well, that was a part of those weird things. Well, it created two. I thought that two and then I did the, I started going, okay, they had a day off the next day. They cut the lights and then a day off the next day.

There's two off days built in to heal the hand. But that's not the way he said it. No, it's not the way he said it. But he said then they had a couple of off days. Has anyone ever gone back and checked this? There's a few things that have been checked. One thing that has been checked is the, there's actually the electric grid around Camden yards, everything else has lit up. So what have just been the state? That can happen. Happened the other night in the SMU Florida state. There is a part in the dugout before that game because they thought the game was gonna happen. So he's still there in uniform and the cameras, and he looks startled that a camera is on him and probably didn't want them to see his hand. So he kind of got away from the camera real quick. Very hard to go back and fully like confirm all this. And the digging I could do, that's what I could. Now most people don't think this is real. But Will Ferrell said it. And he's trusted figure. I believe it could happen. So in Boulder, a customer created a rain out too.

A similar thing. Turn the sprinklers on to cause a game to get rained out. So it kind of did the same bit in a baseball movie. Yeah, I believe it. They would have protected that in Baltimore. That was the big story for the Orioles for years. Yeah. The streak is happening and he's gonna go get it, you know? I think it's interesting. And I would love to hear any follow up. If anyone knows anything about this, go ahead and leave us a talk back on the IHR radio app. We should go ahead. Well, I was just gonna say a costner's in and out of Irving all the time. Maybe we could just get somebody out there with a mic. I would like to ambush him with that. At the HB in Irving. Yeah. Hey, he's a costor against the tortillas. All right, there you have it. There is the way back machine coming up next. Skin, we're gonna take us in thing skin is tracking. All right, we have this beautiful collaboration between LoneStar 92.5, Pluckers, one of our favorite restaurants and the Haymaker network, our sports podcast network. What is it? Give you all the details next right here on LoneStar. Speaking of Pluckers, best wings I've ever had in my life. It's a great place to go watch sports TVs

as far as the eye can see. Man, the ranch dry rub are my favorite. I just, man, it's always been my go to. I get the flappers and they're just unstoppable. And anytime you go to Pluckers, it's just a lively environment. The bars really cool. It's always hopping. People are there enjoying wings because, look, let's face it. They're the greatest wings ever. And have you ever forced to be around other wings? Like I've been to a super bowl party or something before where somebody had wings from somewhere else. I feel sorry for those places because I'm spoiled from enjoying Pluckers. Yeah, and here's the deal. Saturdays and Sundays in the fall are amazing with all that football on the tube. They're gonna have all kinds of games at Pluckers because there's TVs everywhere, especially I love being in that bar area. So you can eat wings and drink beer and watch all the games and you can post up there all day. It is an awesome place to hang. So much fun. During the week they do trivia and different things. Pluckers is just a vibe and it is delicious food. Don't forget tomorrow, Friday, we'll be having lunch at the one at lovers and Greenville at 11 o'clock we want you to join us for our special podcast

and a chance to win ZZ Top Take It. So come see us tomorrow at Pluckers where if you don't like our wings, we'll give you the burn. We need to deliver a hug soon. What the heck, that's so creepy dude. Drowning in a sea of awkward. Christina, these guys need your help, man. Born and bred in DFW. Bennett scared, morning six till nine on Loanstar 92 five. Alright, coming up here in 10 minutes, 10 movies that capture the soul of Dallas, Fort Worth, but before we get there, it's time for this. Boat. Boat. Boat. Skin is tracking. Another addition of things skin is tracking. Alright, thank you, America. We are very excited about what we're launching tomorrow and I just wanted to give everyone a little bit of backstory on what we're doing and why we're doing it. So me, Ben and KT before we joined up forces with Christina at the Eagle back in 2020, we had spent many years in sports talk radio

and we are on another station, 1053, the fan doing sports talk and we developed a partnership with the amazing wing restaurant, Pluckers. Now, if you've never had Pluckers, what the hell are you doing? Are you kidding me? You've never had Pluckers? So, Pluckers, amazing wing restaurant that started in Austin. Their first ever Dallas location was the one that we're going to be at tomorrow, lovers in Greenville. But now they have eight or nine around the Metroplex. And so, every year during football season, we would go do, if we were on in the afternoon, so we would go do a happy hour at Pluckers every other Friday at a different Pluckers during football season. And then there's a while where we were on during lunchtime, so we'd do lunchtime with it. Well, now that we're doing morning radio for the first time, we can't go do shows at Pluckers for breakfast. They don't do that. So, we got creative because we wanted to continue our Pluckers partnership and they wanted to continue theirs. And so, we got creative with LoneStar 92.5. And as you've heard us talk about,

maybe we haven't talked about it enough, but Ben and I also launched a sports podcast network because, you know, this show you hear it every morning, the show we do on LoneStar, we don't do hardcore sports talk like we want to do. We know you as LoneStar listeners don't want hardcore sports. So, I kind of want to know what's going on with the Cowboys and such or maybe some fun stories. But we want to do our hardcore sports talking there are some Ben and Skin listeners that still want it. So, this was the best of both worlds. So, it starts tomorrow and every Friday, every other Friday will be at a different Pluckers. We'll let you know about it, but it's a collaboration between LoneStar 92.5 Pluckers and the Haymaker Network, which is our podcast network. We're going to do a live version of our show, House of Haymaker, and we're going to have ZZ Top Tickets to Give Away. We're going to have other stuff to give away. And it's going to be a big lunch party with wings. And if you want to have lunch, be your great and your friends at LoneStar 92.5 and the House of Haymaker. Yeah, man, I'm so stoked about this. So, tomorrow, be sure to join us.

We'll get there around 11, the podcast will start around noon and it'll go for an hour or so. And basically, it's just going to be footballed up. We're going to be talking about the Cowboys, talking about the NFL, maybe a little college football. But it's going to be all the stuff we don't do on LoneStar, because LoneStar, we don't have time to do super deep dives into sports. And this is kind of a different lane. So that just gives us the opportunity to do something entirely different, something that we've done for many years, because when we first got in radio and like, oh, one at the ticket, you know, right now, oh, 102. That's what we did for many, many years all the way until 2020, except for the little bit that we did live, 1053, for the most part, we've done sports talk the whole way. So this show on LoneStar is not really that, but on the Haymaker network, it is exactly that. Yeah, so we get to do, I mean, we had so much fun when we first came over here. And it was a lot of it had to do with, I mean, one is the four map, but a lot of it had to do with the fact that we added Christine Array to our show.

And she's brought so much to the show and it's so much fun. But we still love doing all the sports talk. And we know, look, if you wanted hardcore sports talk, you'd listen to a sports station. We know that you're listening to LoneStar. So every morning, we want to get to, we want to wake you up. We want to have fun with you. We want to make you laugh. And then we want to get to the music that you want to hear. So it's just a different show, but it gives us a chance to scratch that itch and scratch the itch, hopefully with listeners that want to come hang with us and have a good time. Because even if you're not like dialed in, hey, I want to go here, Cowboys talk, let's come on. Of course you do. It's a fun party anytime we're at Pluckers. Yeah. And I want to thank Pluckers because they've been a great partner to us. And it's not like, you know, yeah, they are wildly successful. And they they're, they're sort of a small business that has blown up, but they're not corporate, you know, they're cool. I got a vibe. They got a vibe. You know, these are local folks that have grown this into a wing empire of sorts, but it's still got all the soul of that original company that it always was. And it's everything they do is fresh in house every day.

Man, those wings just beat the hell out of every other wing out there. Nothing comes close to it. And so man, super excited about this. This is just kind of all of our worlds coming together. Like you said, Pluckers is a great partner. We're super happy to be here at I Heart partnering with a Lone Star 92 5 and then to be able to do the Heymaker Sports Network with all of it. I mean, it's just it's a it's going to be really, really awesome. Really looking forward to Friday. Now makes Fridays busy for us. This doesn't change the radio show tomorrow. We'll still get up early with you. We'll do the show from six to nine. And then we'll head over to Pluckers at lovers and Greenville. We'll get there around 11 would love for you to come on out and hang with us. It's going to be a hell of a lot of fun. And we want to eat wings with you. And also we've mentioned this before. Talk about what great partners. Pluckers are. Well, you hear us talk about Roller Town beer works on the air. That's the brewery that Ben and I are partners in one of the first places to add the big German, which is our delicious Dirk Niewitsky cold style ale. West Pluckers and they have the big German on tap at all the Pluckers locations

and the Metroplex. So if you've been curious about our beer and you want to eat some delicious wings, we'll see you tomorrow. Pour yourself a pint of the big German, eat some wings and hang with us again, starting at 11 o'clock tomorrow. It is Pluckers at lovers and Greenville. All right, coming up next 10 movies that capture the soul of Dallas right here on Loanstar 92 five. Good morning, everybody. It is the Ben and skin show right here on Loanstar 92 five. Now this segment's brought to you by Roller Town beer works. That is the brewery in downtown Frisco that Ben and I are partners in and it is absolutely the place to be for football season. But we also do a lot of fun shows there. And this weekend is going to be crazy Friday night. I don't even know how many general admission tickets are left. I know all the reserve seats are sold out, but the Josh Abbott band is playing, which we're honored to have them at Roller Town. That's the biggest act we've ever ever had there. I mean, obviously bone thugs and harmony played their one time and that was massive, but they're just their different audiences. But we're ecstatic to have the Josh Abbott band.

And then on Saturday night, it's van full of none. So those of you that love the 90s and early 2000s pop punk sound, they've got that on lock. And of course, the beer is always flowing fresh cocktails. And if you can't make it to our brewery, make sure to ask about it at any, you know, grocery store you go to any convenient store and liquor store, tell them to carry Roller Town beer works distributed by Benny Keith. So you can have it at all your favorite places. But right now it's time for this. I can't make it. And it's big, really big. Mark Lampster is a guy who's actually the architecture critic of the Dallas Morning News. I would say friend of the show, Mark Lampster. Good guy. Yeah, he's a great guy. He had a cool article, 10 films that capture the strange soul of Dallas. So I wanted to see how many of these y'all have seen. We'll spend more time on the more recent ones because we began in 1947 with the one we call juke joint.

You guys ever see juke joint? I've never heard of no. Is it? Who's in it? Is it one of the historical black films? No, Spencer Williams. Spencer Williams. Oh, okay. Maybe he is a, he's a very famous underground black filmmaker. Okay. And he made a bunch of films shot in Texas. I think a bunch of were shot in Waco too. Okay, cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the only reason I know this is because I studied film in college, but like he's like a trailblazing African American filmmaker. I'm trying to think there was another one I'm forgetting the dude's name. But anyways, what does it say about the movie? This achieved mainstream fame. Are he achieved mainstream fame as Andy on the show? Amos and Andy. Yes. Tell the story of a con man and his sidekick who arrived in Dallas and set up shop with a local family hijinks and sue when they take an interest in the family's attractive daughter. I feel like this movie might not hold up. Yeah. Well, a lot of these might not 1947, 1961 Dallas at the crossroads.

This was narrated by Walter Cronkite. In an effort to avoid the anti black violence that accompanied court ordered school, desegregation in the Southern cities. I don't know. Never seen wait, 61. Yep. So think about that. Walter Cronkite's doing a movie in Dallas the year before was it two years before Kennedy was killed here. 63 was 63. Yeah. Okay. Years before it. Well, 1963. This is a prudor film. They're calling that. Yep. Okay. That's I think they're going to release that nine max this year. It is 26.6 seconds long. If you guys ever seen this is a prudor film. I don't think there's a person alive who hasn't seen the Zapruder. Is it called Zapruder because the camera? Yes. The guy's name. The guy who shot the videos last name was a pruder. Where he's a pruder. More famous. Zapruder or Heimlich. Heimlich. You know what though? That's a good question. I need to brag.

Yeah. I haven't seen the Zapruder film. You have. I have no idea what you guys talk about. I'm a little bit of John Kennedy's head getting blown off. Oh, Jesus. You've seen it a million times. Okay. Because it was used in the movie JFK. Come on. Because they're, you know, they're trying to determine the angle of the bullet. Yeah. Yeah. Skinny laws. Looks for attractive women eating a meal just to see if they're choking so you can see them. I'm like, well, a lot of times I want to give them this a prudor too. Whoa. I don't know what that means. I don't even know your film. Yeah. I don't know what it means. I don't want to say it though. I just want to see the head. You hear me? A little headshot. Okay. What are the other movies? Body and Clyde 1967. You had body. You had Clyde. They were doing some stuff. Warren Bady and Fade done away. Was it? Yes. It's a great movie. It started a whole era of film in Hollywood. This is what was directed by Arthur Penn. Is that the father of senior Sean Penn? Ooh. I don't think so. Interesting. All right.

He was a writer and I think that was the first thing he directed if I remember. Because they shot this in Waxahatchee, Ponder and Pilot Point. Yeah. And Bonnie and Clyde roll around North Texas. I think there's a house in Crandal that either they actually stopped by In Real Life or they shot for that movie. That's dope. I love Crandal. Yeah. A little fun things. And the movie is known for how violent it was for 1967. Oh really? It's very, very violent. And that's when they that's when they first started rating movies. Because up until 1967 you didn't have a rating system. Oh wow. Anything goes triple X. No, no, no, what it was was if you didn't follow what they called the production code your movie would not allow to be distributed. Yeah. It would have to go to, you know, underground cinema. Well, they do that's they do that's enough films. Yes. Smug. 1983, the store. I don't know. This is about Neiman Marcus the store. Oh, is it a documentary? I don't know. Um, seems good.

True stories 1986 David burn directed and narrated by talking heads from David burn. Yeah. What's the store here? It's just a weird David burn movie. There's like a round house. Yeah, it was like a televangel. It's crazy. It's just weird. I've had seen it in years, but just I don't think it's going to hold up very well. 1987 Robo cop. Now you're talking now you're talking. Robo cop could be a true story. You could see this happening officer killed in the line of duty, but instead of donating his body to, you know, his organs. Just kind of making him a cyborg that can go out there and kick all the ass of all the criminals in town. Now, if I remember correctly, isn't the cop building in Robo cop the building downtown that they're trying to figure out if they're going to get rid of. City hall. Yeah, factory wouldn't it that or oh, yeah, that's right. There was city hall in that. I think like they shot in terriers at the hat factory and I think they shot the X terriers at that building, but the movie is set and Detroit.

Yeah, but shot here, right. It was like a loss for Dallas. They should just set the movie in Dallas and shoot it in Dallas. Dude, I think they wanted to lean in on the car industry. There, I feel like there was if you just think about that cast, it feels like there was a lot of movies made with Peter Weller and Nancy Allen and Kurtwood Smith. I mean, they're just like all just kind of random character actors Ray Wise to that cast is incredibly average. Let's get it on the show. Let's get the cast of Robo cop Robo cop on one of the shoot. I think they'll be it the fan X bonus week of the three-weekly. Yeah, the thin blue line 1988 incredible. One of the greatest documentaries ever made. Errol Morris is considered maybe the greatest documentarian in his movie actually got a man off of death row. Wow, that's crazy. It's an incredible movie. 1996 bottle rocket. Let's go greatness. Shot all over that written in Dallas. What a very fun movie.

Great movie. I'd like to watch it again sometime. I just had a memory been a couple of weeks ago randomly. The character that the guy that played Bob Maplett or called us and we forgot to call him back. I do do that to all Bob Maplett or give me a call. We're going to call him after the show. He wants to be woken up at 915 office space 1999. Yeah. God, that's a great movie. It is amazing watching that as a kid and then realizing when you get older. Oh, this was shot on 635. That's crazy. So that's the best mic judge movie, right? Don't you all think? Yeah. So what are all the mic judge movies? Idiocracy, the beevison butt head stuff. You don't like the beevison. No, I'm saying that's tough. Yeah, yeah. You know what iconic? You know what's weird is did you ever see extract with Jason Bateman? Yes. And Kristen Wigg. Yeah. I thought it was Jennifer Anastown. No, she was in office space. She was an office space.

She was a flare. Yeah, I think office space probably the best of all those. I do too. Kindly office space versus bottle rocket. But then the other thing that you could throw in there if you really wanted to is Silicon Valley. Yeah. Oh, good. He did the South Park movie. Also, Jack asked number two spy kids. He did spy kids. I don't know. A spy kids wanted to were on here. A lot of beasts. Yeah, he's got a lot of great movies. Oh, and that's the last one. I dig right out of time. Wow. Unbelievable. You know what? He did have some corrections to his article. Okay. A lampster did. Okay. He put Dallas Byers Club in there and then it. Oh, he should have left that in there. That's a great movie. Never saw it. That's what got Matthew McConaughey is Academy Award. It's a tough watch. Yeah. Did you let it in it? Yes. I'm out. It's the movie that got McConaughey as Academy Award. You should at least see it. I'm going to get an interstellar guy in his Academy Award. Did he win too?

Oh, man. Man, we're just going to have to end the show with a lot of questions. That's going to do it for us today. Reminder tomorrow will be doing our show from six to nine and then afterwards we're going to head to pluckers at lovers and Greenville and we want to see you there. Make plans to be with us tomorrow for lunch at pluckers, lovers and Greenville starting at 11 o'clock. It's going to be a blast. That's going to be it for today. I'll never forget the time that Katie actually met Mark Lamster in person. He looked him dead in his eye and he said, if you laid out all of our DNA, it could go to the moon and back 150,000 times. Yeah, it was quite the fact. Hey, stick around. Jason's got some tunes right here on Lone Star 92.5. How you going? You alright? I love the radio. Oh, I don't know.
