Josh Lord will be the backup second row while a CT, Kyle Preston, Rico Yawani, and at 22, and for his first test of the Tour, Bowden Barrett, will be the 23, Juzy. I said with Scottie and Sammy before, I don't understand how someone can be dropped completely from a match day 23 and then be starting and the captain. That's no criticism of Cody Taylor. That's just me being puzzled by that more than anything. Because unlike a sport like cricket, the captain's isn't that important from what I understand.

2:06Believe it or not, I've never been an Orbex. But yeah, I'm not surprising, isn't it? That captain's isn't as important that if you can't even make the team then you deserve to be like, I just, that doesn't make sense to me. We'll chat with Jeff McTanchon about 10 minutes. He might have more intel on that. Yeah, Jeff McTanchon course has been the voice of the greatest rivalry tour across all of the games, both midweek games. 3:07But interesting story out of the morning's Champions League is that moments after the first game of the Champions League first round, Finna Bucce manager, Ismail Katal has resigned. He got a one-all draw at home. He only been in the job since June and he said, I'm resigning from my position while I still have time. I am resigning with the understanding that I will never return. I have been here three months from the beginning of the season till today, the training sessions in camps I conducted with my players, our president and managers tried to help us in every way. Those were wonderful days. Therefore, I would like to thank my fans, media, members of staff and fellow players who have supported me till today. I made this decision to pave the way for my club. We made this decision together as a team. That seems random. I mean, like if they've been pumped five Nill, sure. You've just drawn one all at home to Roma for the first game of the season in the Champions League. You only had like three or four Turkish Super League games. It seems to nearly go.

So yeah, those are some of the results this morning from the Champions League course. We've got a four round of Premier League as well this weekend. We're going to talk to Ben Ransom from Sky Sport in the UK a little later about that. Kurt Capewell, who has been a bit of a menace to be honest at the media session the other day. When I was chatting with Tomati Martin, who we played that interview yesterday, and if you missed out on it, Sport Nation Mornings review, you get your podcast, but he was trying to put Tomati off and I was watching him go and chat with Karrgos while he was being a bit of a pest and he was standing behind people while they were doing other interviews. So obviously a very experienced player, Kurt Capewell, both at NRL and state of origin level. So his leadership will be enormous tomorrow, as it always is, but in these big games

5:14are someone who's won an NRL premiership before. He knows what it takes and those clutch moments to go right lads, times grow another league, time for us to go to another level here. We need to be winning this game. So yeah, Kurt Capewell, and then in contrast with finals experience, a lot of kind of camp are era. Who, obviously first season with the Warriors this year, was really interested to find out from him just, you know, it was an ounce ten months ago that he was coming to the Warriors. And he was breaking all sorts of records at a really bumbling and stumbling Gold Coast Titans team. And as now come to the wires, it's been the first five weeks in New South Wales Cup. And as now, arguably their most potent attacking weapon, not just because of his speed, how elusive he is, and also just every time they go to that left edge, they draw another man across, which allows, as we've seen, the Warriors been cutting back in and scoring through the middle. So, started to with him about that, but also his tear, his heritage.

6:14He has Pakistani, Sam Worn, Māori and indigenous Australian background. So if the call comes to play rep-footy, what's Shuzi's going to wear? Because it's a tough decision to make. Yeah, it is. So hopefully the other ladies can bring a home in Baltimore. I'm actually up in New York, I thought I'd take a day and check it out while I was

8:17in there. So I'm currently in the Madden. Where everything is about three times the price of the New Zealand dollar, but there you go. They're trying to get one of those yellow cams, so why is that? Yeah, what does he have? I think you say, I'm walking here. I'm walking here. Come on. What are you doing? I'm walking here. Come on. Yeah, McTanch, five players making their first test starts of the tour of New York, to play Kater, Moonga, Lynette Brown. There are two of Moonga is obviously the one of the bigger talking points. How much in your opinion is it? They think he's their best option. It's 10. How much is it that they want to see what these options are? Bearing in mind, Dave Rennie's contract is only until the next World Cup. I think that they brought him over and he had a crack in the tour game. It's time to get him around in a test match since his return. Riven's played a lot of rugby. I don't think we can lay any blame on Ruben Lovyn the last test.

9:19He missed seven points off the tee, but he'll be able to give them five the way they did. They probably caught in some areas. They could have brushed up on. They were about to throw it scrum sign. They probably left a few points out there in terms of tries as well. So, yeah, I think it's just a change that needs to be made, which is a quality player. I think the runny got earlier in the tour was good for him. So I think it's time to get him a crack. You look at a goal like Eacon Blackhead or as well. He was outstanding earlier in the tour as well. I think some of the changes that they've made, they've needed to have made them. You don't bring a tour party across that size. I think you don't give guys a go. You've got to give these guys a crack and see where the guys are. And actually, fully give guys a break too and impression the legs. Is that temptation to stick with consistency? Russ is done that, but I think for the all blacks and Dave Rennitz, it's time to, it's not so much roll the dice.

10:20These guys are seasoned players. They've played a lot of history with the all blacks. But it's time to give them a go that fresh, they're hungry. And I think that these changes, they're potentially completely different from the all blacks this weekend. What's the biggest question you want answered regarding Richie Mourner? It's not so much a question I want answered. I suppose it's like many people who has been away in Japan for a few years. It's to see whether he can take that step back to the top level of test rugby. And I think their adjustments coming back from a competition like League 1, it's always going to take a little bit of time just to get in the rhythm, to get that feeling again, but he's been in camp now for a few weeks and he's obviously played that game. So I think that he's the type of players that quality player that I think once he gets in front of the sprung ups, we will see the best of Richie Mourner, he's had to say, say time to adapt. And again, to play with Cam and those guys, and guys he's used to playing with at that

11:26level, I think we'll see, I think we'll see the best of him. I want to see him run the ball like we all do, I think I think we want to see him attack the line. To that end, I think Rubin was really good on this tour in terms of the way he managed games. He didn't overplay his hand. Would be a block to have seen him run more like he did for hard hands, sure. We would have, but that's the nature of T-SRug B. I think he played his par well, played his role, but we know it Richie can bring. And I think as I say, with having had a bit of time in the saddle, a bit of time of training with the obliques, almost two, I think we'll see him do that. His face is there. I mean, the box, the box, he's been able to shut down that sort of 10 channel and some of the work that Cam will have been trying to do around the rock, they think quite good to do that. And shutting down those windows and those locked up Richie out and needs, as we know, and it's half a meter of space in a week's shoulder to break up on the line. And the obliques have been really good on this tour and obviously playing with a bit of

12:29work to get into that wide gender, fifth and then the channel. The box being quite good at pressing in the last pass and shutting down that final pass, particularly in the last 10 match, but I think the more that the obliques can make it an unstructured game and move it away from set face like they've really hit the seat this week a bit for them. You pop your popularity, let her even tuning it, is they drive by. I want to ask you about Cody Taylor getting the start after not being in the 23 last week. Now, a lot of what was talked about, particularly in South Africa was about, and the scrum was the break foot. And I know Dave Rene talked about that when they got to Baltimore and that first press and he said, you know, he was worried that if all the talk was about the break foot, then the referees are going to be missing a whole lot of other things on the scrum if that's all they're focusing on. Was that a bit of Dave Rene playing the rassy card and a few mind games with the officials before he names Cody Taylor back in the starting team? Yes, and this thing I may look like I actually ran into Jason Ryan at the hotel the other

13:33day in DC and instead of a bit of a brief yard of that, casually about how the scrums are going in and it's there's so much for them to look at. But from Arthur's picked it up in the box and then looking at the clips that we've all seen on social media afterwards, I mean you could argue that the box is doing things illegally, it only did the billboards could be better. So just on Cody, I think it was, it wasn't a bad move to get this up for him. It put Samusoni on that too, but I think for a guy like that who's such a senior leader and a senior in the Black Jersey, I think sometimes it's actually bad things to different things up and give other guys a guy and then it creates that fire and that hunger again. He's probably, I think for the design and machine probably as well, he's probably hasn't been in this at the level where no Cody Taylor can play it. Does that man, he's been born now? But I think he has been more aggressive as we've seen over the years and I think we

14:34could see that this weekend, we're going to need to be like Malcolm Marks is just showing that he's the best top in the world in the way he's playing and we're going to need to be able to match that on fire with fire. So it's something that's a good thing Cody had at the time now. But in terms of the scrumbers, you know as well as I do, they're a pretty complicated beast and we saw that last week, we were seeing that in the second test in the first as well, but the old black state that they're going to have to have a better parity there to the series. I actually think the scrum's real simple, mate, just got to get your timing right, you know, just hit it really hard, you'd be stronger. Apparently just real basic stuff, you don't think they're just either thinking about it. Well, yeah, like we even saw that in the Black women's women, I ran into children of the front of the year for them. She was implementing it where she sang, yeah, the women taught me that on the other side, she's facing the opposite scheme which I think is poor again. So like, yeah, I mean, there's a few things for them to check out like it from where

15:36we're standing up to come through what's about. But just because that's just so hard to tell whether or not they are taking that steep across like they're talking about whether in fact the front row is falling back to create their space so that our front row goes down. But it's hard to see that one thing I think the old black coaches have said is that they need to try things out and be better as well. So they've been holoned unavailable due to illness which is an enormous loss. He's arguably being the old black's player of the tour, given that and also with Lord on the bench with Tipper Vi now back at six. Am I overthinking this or is he now just a blindside who can play lock or is it more, they see him as the best big body six option for this test. Well, like much as we know, mate, like the dropping like flies, it's been a tough one, it's been a lot of a trussion guys injured. And so I think I think they said the flexibility with Tipper Vi, being able to play in the second

16:36row and on the side. I'm not sure how far that that's going to go, heading towards the World Cup. I mean, you've got to try and go like Scott Garrett back in the mix where the C come back in. Let's see, let's see the second row six option as well. So I think it's just the case of who's left standing that's completely frank with him. He's the best option for this weekend. But there's no question I think when he plays out on the side of the scrum, he's got that ability to play as game in a bit of a space when he's a bit tighter. Yeah, he still has that skill set, but I think the old blabps, old blabps coaches have wanted to try him on this tour on the side and see sort of what they can do. But as I think it's just a case of who's left in the cupboard to be honest. Yeah, I mean, we used to see it right when Scott Barrett first came into the All Blacks. He's very much a lock now, but he played six, you know, when you had white lock and Brody as the locks. And I've always thought that since they went away from that, the All Blacks against the

17:39bigger teams, against the islands, the frances, and the spring box of lack to bit of size. And I think we saw that get found out in the third test when they didn't do it. Now we had Johan argument on Battle Equal, so we go. And he talked about how impressed he had been by Simon Parker on this test. Are you surprised that he's not floating around in there because it's a bit like Flake with more bee and LaKai and Blackhatter in terms of size? Yeah, well they used, I mean I was surprised how much they used them as a jump rope, she didn't like my song and stuff. Yeah, I can get it to us then, but I think it might be a case of them just wanting to push and things up again as well. And like I say, this is an interesting test. This fourth test, the minute I'm a lot out of it. Trying to get that second one in South Africa. And so quite rightly that, they're pushing up and saying, and I wouldn't want to overflake it. And this fourth test in terms of the selection, they made it just to simply say that it's

18:42a large squad, it's the end of the tour and they've got to try some guys. It's been wise that it's been biting their time performing well. If you've got to come home from South Africa and the US and having not given these guys a track, they've had a bit of an end of the year tour and indeed going into next year we're up there then. I don't think you've done both those guys just this because they need that opportunity and there's so much riding on this weekend for them too. So I think we'll see some good performances from the guys that have been named and equally when you look at that team, it's another well balanced, it's a bit exciting and so I'm excited. Where to question yesterday, Jeff, and essentially if the Orblacks were to lose this weekend, does Dave Rene now come under fire? I've kind of fallen to the camp of probably not because we know firstly the way that Rene plays, we've seen improvement under him with the Orblacks and it's not like they've been getting barbed at last 15 minutes last week, absolutely blown off the park.

19:44If that was to happen this week, where do you feel the relationship to Dave Rene from an Orblacks public perspective is? Well, public sentiment on what New Zealand rugby think is two different things, right? But I think if you look at how the Orblacks have performed and how they have a statistic shape, I'd like just looking now the day when the match reports or the stat reports came out on those first three test matches, like they, apart from the scoreline and the second and third test, the Orblacks are winning from memory, 89% of statistics that matter. They've got their line breaks, their goal bars, post-containment, what else was there? I think eras, set pieces obviously. As obviously, they've got to work on better as I just said, they're winning a lot of the other statistics. If you look back, you've asked him what I'm back in a couple of years ago, the Orblacks couldn't want to see enough. And they would down 7 points in the second test, 4 points in the third test. So as you quietly say, Chappie, it's a vastly improved World Black team.

20:49And so it's answer question, would Dave Renebeau be able to finish it? I don't think so. You've got to look at the other way. How would the Orblacks have performed if this rugby's greatest rivalry till was 18, 24 months ago, right? So there are teams like everyone is sashing the world over. This is an Orblack team that is, you know, markly improved and I think they're on the right to do good as well. It's interesting. The eight changes made to the starting 15. We were talking about this yesterday about what they might do. And you know, there was obviously the three injuries given that the spring box have only made two changes. And it was injury enforced as well. We, we used surprise at all the team that the box put out. Did you expect them to try other things once they got to Baltimore? I think it shows, I actually think it shows, I think it's more of a compliment to the team. It's in the way that they've played and tested the spring box to be honest with you. I think Russy up until this test match, I think over the last couple of years, every single team has put out for each test match has been quite different.

21:50Just reading this one, I think this is one of the more consistent periods of selection that he's had as a coach. And it's down to the opposition, isn't it? So, you know, the Orblacks are clearly, clearly testing the spring box team, as we've seen in the last couple of matches, could have gone either way. And so he's wanting to, he's wanting to select consistently and accordingly. And when you've got to bring them in, Bill and Sebac is, he's arguably the best fallback in the world at the moment, the way he's played. Yes, it's blown, not having to. And Colby, I think they probably need to, well, I mean, down for a rear is what he's, he's 40. He's coming up for it. I think he may have to set his character. It's coming up, so 40 years of age. I think that's down, Russy said gets down to just selecting the best guys. And it's not about age, but they do need to think about the future behind Malcolm Marks. I think more and more of them, we're getting a crack though. He was standing in the third test, kept turning the tide for the spring box. So, again, as I say, I think it's a selection based on the way the Orblacks have played as much as the Saturday.

22:50So, I was going to say, mate, you have the same agency as the spring box reserve hooker of your, have you had an opportunity to scrum him anywhere in a hotel lobby or anything? I brought the boots, mate. I'm in down the bottom, which is the case. I haven't even had the chance to scrum deal for either. It just shows mate like, you're hanging there. There's always a chance. There's always another chance to potentially hold out hook. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, a champion, it's not too late for you, mate. Yeah, it's definitely far too late for me. Hey, mate, just before we let you go, there's going to be our last chance to speak with you before you do head home from an off-field perspective. I think the way that the Rugby public have engaged with the tour has been really, really amazing. I've never been this out there before. And, you know, obviously heard of the stories about the way that spring box fans and indeed

23:55that the wider public react with the Kiwis who travel and spring box fans are amazing to actually experience that firsthand. And it's like, you know, I'll put it, I mean, it is like, there is a there is a there is a there is a friendly like this rivalry and a brotherhood about it. You know, they want to they want to absolutely annihilate on the weekend. But after the game, you know, there are a lot of people that the poor past are wearing and all that shirt or any Zealand potential whatever it is. They're friendly congratulations and well done for seeing you next week. So I think from, you know, from, you know, can we all raise in the game of footy? Like it's nice to see that the spirit of the game is still very much alive. And now we're in an old uncle Sam in the US. And obviously that's up as much a marketing pushes it as a game of footy this weekend and Baltimore. But it's great to see that both sides of it trying to expand the game. But also that, you know, the game we all know and love is still well and truly alive. Good to see the man hat and traffic and recognizing you.

24:56I mean, there's a serious note though, Jeff. And I know Jeff, you see we'll wrap this up. Let you go. But honestly, 1996 was the last time the all blacks toured South Africa properly. So this is an historic tour. It's been an historic tour. You've been the voice of the tour. You've called all the tests. You've called all the midweek games. You're going to be the guy that, you know, in 20 years' time when they're replaying these games, it's going to be your voice. I mean, is that sunken for you yet? I mean, just how our specials have been for you and what it means is your career as a broadcaster and a commentator. Yeah, man, that's great. That's great, amazing. Like it's what you want to be doing. You want to be calling these games. But to be here on a tour, that's not guy. I was reflecting the other day. It didn't be stadium. And I, you know, like everyone else. It's not often in a call. You're trying to be as professional and unbiased as possible.

25:56But there's always a party as a New Zealander and as a QE that is going to bug it. You know, it would have been so nice to get that. And that certainly happened in Cape Town and then in in Soweto. So it's a little bit dark. It really couldn't get the result. I remember I mean, I was eight years old or later about. I was at Carrasbrook in 1994 and dad took me along to to see a tiger played the springgops. And that is springgop keyed up to Graham's eventual science compete that. The team in a tiger did. I only think the baby project seemed to be the springgops on the tour. So for me, you know, that was kind of where this, you know, what this thing is, rivalry first hand started. And so to be to be here now calling it, you take it in your stride, but it's been bloody special. And, you know, that first test in Alice Park that wasn't there. I remember going out onto the onto the stadium and just thinking, you know, this has been pretty hello to a lot of all black teams out the years.

26:57So just to play a small part of it and, you know, and bring some coverage. So everyone watching back home up early with skies and, you know, a massive one or a massive privilege and something I see that don't take for granted. Well, mate, you've done a great job. 28:01You know, you wonder how much of that conversation is going on with the referees before game and how much tape is going back and forth. And, you know, can we get, can we get spider cam or the flying fox on this? Yeah, there's been those photos doing the rounds as in there, particularly since that third test of just the angles that perhaps it's been perceived. The spring box are correctly and correctly hitting at compared to the straight lines that the all blacks are and you can probably find those moments throughout any game, whether it's scrumaging or the breakdown or a forward pass where it's how you missed this. But if it becomes a consistent issue or a concern from an all blacks perspective, then yeah, probably doesn't need to be identified to the refs. What you don't want to do though, and it's a real fine line, is start to sound like you're winging. And, I don't think at any stage the all blacks have got close to that line. But from a fan perspective, then you do start becoming a bit poor me. Oh, we should have won, oh, you missed this. And, it's been such a fun tour from a spectator perspective,

29:04albeit the tough alarms, that you don't want to remember it from a, oh, they missed the scrum. You know, we don't want to look back on this in 10, 15, 20 years time going. Hey, remember the scrums? God, God, they missed a lot of penalties with the scrums, didn't they? You want to remember it for the footy? You want to remember it from the entertainment perspective. So, look, we've been saying it all tour. I just, I hope this last tour, this last test is fantastic and enjoyable game of rugby. Yeah, that's what you want, right? That's what you want to see. We've got plenty of options coming through on the text line on double eight, double three for options for the Friday lock-in. And one of those has come through from steals who has said, take the draw at half time and the all blacks to win. And I can tell you that's paying $31. So maybe you just take that with a gold coin steal turn on the back. I don't know if we'll put it this part of a five leg multi, but you are in the draw to win that five leg when we put the $100 betch cash on it for your setting your text through. It's also suggested Cody Taylor first triscura or a penalty first scoring play

30:05are other options to look at. Cody Taylor anytime triscura as a redemption arc would be, not that he did anything wrong, but you know, dropped them back as captain for the potentially serious leveling test. Look, you often, I know you're a big fan of like a narrative that would certainly be up there for one of them. Cody Taylor 250 anytime, which is the longest he's been in a while, I think. Yeah, I mean, he hasn't been that destructive close to the line base that he, we've seen in recent times, with the all blacks or in particular the crusaders. So, yeah, 250, probably a little short, but if you are going to put it in the same game multi, then perhaps that could be an option people look at. Yeah, and Kerry's also said one through, which is his best bet of the weekend. Harlan Rugby, Bullard to beat West Coast for the historic Rundle Cup, they're paying $1.50, you know, the reason I'm reading that one out is because Kerry texted yesterday when we were doing our betch about all multies,

Because maybe it was an eight out of ten last week and we can be a ten out of ten. And if we're ten out of ten, we're going to beat them. So that's where I think the opportunities lie as well for the all blacks. Yeah, Dave really talked about it when they got to Baltimore and his press conference. He said, if we cut out, if we cut out our eras down, then the game continues to flow because if the game is flowing, we can play our football and they don't like it.

33:08Whereas if we start making eras, the game can slow the game down and then that plays into the hands. So it's about controlling those things that you can control. Bunnies Knights, you're getting almost even money alone for Johnson and Young to score two plus tries combined, which you'd think Johnson gets at least one. It's not two. And then Dom Young is pretty much the main attacking weapon for Newcastle outside of Kalimponger. Yeah, 100% having, I mean, he's got some great centers inside him right to that they put him away well. The whole, if Billy Proctor was there, would Lena Brown be playing? Look, if I was seven feet tall, would it be an NBA player? Like, there's all these hypotheticals around everything. Right. I feel your clutching it straws a little bit there. We just have to look at what's actually happening in the moment. Yeah, yeah, I think that's fair. It was just Anthony making the point. 45:35because Quintu Pire has played 13 across this TS series, but he's normally a 12 who's playing 13, rather than an out and out 13. So what do you mean by where are the 13s? Well, you're going back to ALB here, right? Proctor's obviously injured, Riko's coming off the bench, but it used to be you could stack up the 13s, a bit like you used to be able to stack up the 7s. And it seems to be that maybe one of the places we're a bit skinny and depth is out and out, guys who are specialist 13s. Yes, this current coaching group likes plays who can play both positions, though, 12, 13 or who can be midfield and wing cover, who can be midfield and back three cover or first five at an absolute push, potentially as well. So I get what you mean. I think it also depends who's at 12 though, right? In a way, it becomes interchangeable. Are you wanting your 12 to be a secondary playmaker

46:36or a third playmaker if you've got a playmaking fallback as well? Like we've seen with Jordi Barrett, do you want your 12 to kick or do you want your 12 to be a runner? Like we used to see with Marlononu, 13 to be a game breaker, do you want them to be an extra battering round? Do you want them to open up the game? Do you want them to be an extra loose forward? Do you want them to be interchangeable with the 12? I guess it depends as well how they want to use that player. Yeah, I used to do a bit of work with Peter Arlatini. We used to have a show on the station, which was all about Marlonon Pacifica and Peter Arlatini used to come on and do that show with me and talk about that. And of course, he had been previously played Super Robi and International Robi as a 12. And I remember asking him, talking about any of the difference, particularly without the ball, between 12 and 13 is quite market. You can't sleep on your outside shoulder at 13. Things happen a lot faster outside you. It is quite a different read position from a defensive point of view. So that is my point more than anything. But we have had another Texcumthor on 003. Chappy, this one for you from Gerry.

47:37I love how Chappy says, if we play 10 out of 10 rugby, we will beat the spring box. Yet you are forgetting, what if they play 10 out of 10 as well? I guess what he is saying here is, if both teams play to their best potential, who wins? Well, firstly, Gerry, I think you need to find other things to love other than what I say. So I hope you find that soon, mate. Come on, Chappy. We all have a few of you. Where do you know that? Yeah, apparently. My point was, if the all blacks play 10 out of 10, then that negates South Africa. I think both these teams, if they were to play, if one of them was to play 10 out of 10, that in a way negates the other. It cancels out the best playing opportunities from the other. So the all blacks playing 10 out of 10 is they are amazing scrum at scrum a time. They are more dominant around the breakdown. They play at pace. They use width. Cam Royguard is allowed to snipe around the breakdown. They kick well.

48:37They have better goal-kicking percentage than what they've had recently. And all of that, bar probably the latter, negates where South Africa's strengths are. Where South Africa has been strong this tour, or this series, they've ruined the all black scrum at times. They have blitzed them through the middle when it comes to the rolling mall. They have negated Cam Royguard around the breakdown. They have slowed the breakdown when the all blacks have wanted to play at pace. And when the all blacks have gone wide and tried to use the likes of Will Jordan or Josh Morby, they've managed to push the me that into touch or force them back in field. That's kind of what I mean by 10 out of 10. So basically if a team is playing 10 out of 10, their opposition can't effectively, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. And yeah, I think that's where it is, right? You're essentially cancelling each other out. If you're playing really good, means the opposition's not. So if the all blacks play 10 out of 10, that's not to say South Africa can't play at a 9 out of 10.

49:38And look, that's just my opinion. But I feel if one team is playing at 10 out of 10, the other can't play at 10 out of 10. All right, I hope that answers that for you. I'm pretty keen on Captain Tyron tonight. Or be it, it's always a little tricky these small fields because sometimes strange things happen when there's only small numbers and what you think may transpire. You can get thrown up in the air. There's a scratching here which leaves us with just six runners. They're racing for good prize money tonight as well. $50,000. But I think Captain Tyron's first effort was super.

57:51His first campaign was excellent to be fair. Then he was given a good amount of time to grow up and mature. His trials were solid. He went to the races and in a bit of an impossible position. Last time out from a wide draw he got back. But I don't think he could have done any more than what he did fresh up. Second up should be peaking. No doubt this has been the target race. And he has very good gate speed. So between he and Franco and Carro, the fact that he has that little gate advantage and the early speed. I think it can be enough to see him press forward and probably take control of this contest. Franco and Carro is flying though and probably should have won last week. It was involved early, copped a shuffle and then absolutely flew late. So if he's with the striking distance on the corner he'll be a real danger. To be honest, there's probably not one horse in this race that you can put a line through. Giorgio Dinario was good fresh and you could just see there was going to be improvement. Asymmetric return has done nothing wrong. Suspicious captains won two of his last three and some of season is probably sort of in that top group of three-year-old fillies on what she's capable of.

58:56So ripping race, but captain Tyron on top for me. Race 8's the Miers Spring Sprint. Arafura is the favourite at 2.60 and his fresh up won. Lites also fresh up at 4s and has had a bit of money come. Beside Mees had the runners wedge between them in the market at 3.10. Almate Michael Gehrin taught on Arafura. A new DG because it seems like a bit of a three horse race. Yeah, this race is only in must have been the last couple of minutes. Been pretty well flipped on its head because I've just opened up the fields and wine light is scratched. So that certainly changes the dynamic. She probably looked to get the charm run of the race and she also had the gate speed to sort of dictate the map. So to speak. So I think with her emission it really changes this race up. I was keen on beside me, pre that scratching and I'm even keen on her now to be fair. She's had two runs and she's a mayor who hasn't had a lot of consistent racing in the last 12 months. And I think the fact that she's had those two runs under the belt.

59:56She won fresh up a month between a real spring home last time out. Carter jumps back on tonight and they've got a sort of a great relationship and she's a go-forward top. I think we've seen it time and time again over the last couple of weeks with these high quality horses early on in their campaign. Sometimes fitness will most of the time to be fair fitness has been the difference. And I think the fact that beside me has fitness on her side and can sort of rough and tumble and go forward. I think the advantage certainly lies with her. I respect the market support for our fewer and of course she was the top three-year-old Philly last year. She won both oaks. Her trials have been excellent. But she's never been an absolute gate flyer in saying that in the small field she won't be far from them. So they look at clear top two. Amarita Franco is speaking of fitness. She's rock hard fit. Nothing but use in the same boat. But I'm thinking class will rise and maybe beside me can get one over a few at the end. If we go to Alex Park then race eight. Ride the waves is building a big reputation and is 245 fly high.

She seems an absolute belter of a Philly early in her unbeaten career. She's pretty exciting and I know the Stonewall operation have a massive opinion of her. And they're really wrapped her in cotton wool to this point. She wasn't involved in the two-year-old contest. They've sort of picked their targets at three. They could have had her up and going for the oaks earlier this year. But they've played the patient game and it's certainly paying dividends as well. I sort of tossed and turned with this race because it's a $30,000 contest. So you know the money's up. But we are still a little way out from that neverly our final which is staged on Cup Day. So I'm very aware that these Philly still have a pretty decent long campaign to come. And the oaks off the back of that down here in the south. Fly high and ride the waves have met on four occasions. Ride the waves has one on three occasions. And fly high was able to get one over her in that sort of way.

1:02:00Last time out fly high had atrial fibrillation. So genuine excuses for her poor performance. It's remarkable the record horses have a bouncing out of that little issue. So with her barrier draw 1700 metres, I thought her trials have been really good. I am leaning in her direction but I'm very wary of ride the waves because I know her talent. Maybe she is the most talented Philly in this group. And a pretty deep group it must be said. But just thought tonight if fly high is going to get a win over her again, it's probably under these conditions. Race one is an interesting one. We've got an enormous $40 favour in Duke of Bourbon and what is a four horse race. But I know you're a massive fan of Tactico who's on day boot. Talk us through that. Yeah, really lovely group of trotters. There's only the four of them but there's still plenty to come. We've got a good two-year-old trotting race in the south as well. I love seeing trotting numbers sort of in those juvenile ranks growing.

1:03:00So Duke of Bourbon had that early season campaign where he was excellent. He was beaten last time out in the Eastern Light Classic at Group One level. But there was always the ability was obvious. The speed was incredible but he just wasn't the furnished product yet. Hearing that he's made all of the necessary improvements physical and hopefully mental as well because he was certainly one who was just a little quirky last time in nothing silly but probably wasn't helping himself with just being a little steady early. So a great deal of respect for him. But Tactico has just taken my eye at the trials. Every time he's stepped out of just thought, wow, you're a really exciting young trotter. His gate is unbelievable. It's merely like he takes one stride to everyone else's too. He just covers so much ground. He's giving away experience but there's just something about him and I want to stick with him. And I guess $1.40 around Duke of Bourbon isn't too enticing.

1:04:00So Tactico for me tonight probably more of a spec bet than anything else. But I decided I was going to sort of follow him wherever he bobbed up next. He's bobbed up in a pretty deep race but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. We've also got to Wamaru on Sunday the Group 3 Henan Headlines stat. So what do you like? Yeah, I'm looking forward to heading to Omaru on Sunday for it. Being a part of the Sunday session for what is sort of that big day of the year, the Hanan Memorial. There's always a super contest in this year. It's very intriguing once more. These couples are starting to roll out and it's tough was I think sort of the find of the summer and autumn for the Diamond Racing that stable last time out. He took home the $100,000 Hydroflow Country Championships final and on those occasions he was chasing off Big Mart. So we meet some unequal terms on Sunday. He draws out and out of trouble in that eight position. He's trotted up really well. I was at Rungura last Wednesday and he just looked explosive.

1:05:02So he looks very hard to toss but again race fitness is on the side of a few others. Borosokane has been great. He's third up from a long break. Better's and for speaking of atrial fibrillation. He had that last time out but he looks to have bounced back at the trials. Franco Sinatra is second up. Dreams are freeze, race right over winter. So really interesting race. I could sort of comment on each and every run of it. It's tough on what he did last preparation is clearly the horse to beat. There's also the Jasmine's gift for the trotting mers. That's a tough race. I'm just think I'm going to watch that one. So he's off handicaps are obviously the class runners but they have to negotiate a full field of 15. And then we've got the juvenile stakes with two or party looking to bounce back after his unbeaten run came to an end last week. But he looks as though he can certainly get back on track there. I think he's a $1.04. So ten races on Sunday. Really, really good racing from start to finish. So I think it's going to be a ripping meeting.

1:06:02You've got a full dance card. That's where you can make. What's your best? Well, it was Captain Tyron during the box seat on Tuesday, but he's pretty short now at 195. I think a good double tonight is Captain Tyron into Trump card in the last. He's just beautifully graded in that contest. He has nine rating points on every other runner and he's in super form. So Captain Tyron into Trump card, hopefully that is able to deliver us a dividend. And if you just want to take one or the other, well, take your pick. Yeah, beautiful. We'll do. Thanks very much. But I can't and I'm happy to be correction on this, but I can't remember a game where he's been wofull. No, I think he has maybe, I think wofull is probably strong here, has made decisions at times that have been costly, particularly around the cards. He holds the record equal to other players the most card at All Black ever. That doesn't surprise me.

Yeah, it's not only that because it wasn't like they just for a bit of a term, flipped into it. Either that actually been playing some solid rugby and we talked about that game before they went down there and went, they'll give Canaveral a hurry up but I think we all thought it's Canaveral and Canaveral so they'll find a way to win and it didn't happen and actually they'd beat them well which was the most impressive thing. I think Cameron George actually said to me in the Sheds the other day he came up to me personally and thanks me for the Mulligan and our contributions to the club this year. Is that why you got the credit extension? It may have something to do with it. I'm sure it's playing new supporters for the club but big shout out to the Mulligan supporters. We see you stay in it, stay over it and appreciate the support. What's so special about this club at the moment? I just feel like we're in a really good place as you mentioned about the culture but just the connection in the team, both on and off the field. Probably more importantly off the field. I feel like we've got such a good group of young players

1:25:20come through, they've been through the grades together and they're really happy to be here working hard together and trying to get better and better every week. You mentioned the young guys and the big names, you got Fisher Harris, got Barnett, Aaron's, Dalyam, Lock of the Year. These young men that are thriving and flying at the moment. What impresses you most about them? I've been lucky enough to be here over the last few years and see them develop and make their work I think it's second to none. Players like J. K. Laban, who's having best season of his career and really taking a game by storm but he's shown up training day and day out trying to get better so they definitely don't get ahead of themselves. There's Hungry as they've ever been and it's just a pleasure to be a part of it and to be able to keep them going now that's Farl's time and just remodeling that. It's work as usual, you're going to show up, you're okay trying to get better and put it all out there on the weekend. I'm glad you mentioned J. K. Laban because we've been named Chik Chui

1:26:20when talking about him earlier with media. Talk us about your guys relationship, apparently you guys got quite a cool relationship. That sounds a bit zesty, I'm not a part of this zesty voice. That's J. K. Laban and Lekker and Dementrick. It's all those boys. That's the zesty voice. But no, J. K. as I mentioned, I've been able to see him, you know, a lot of the young boys have developed and he's one when I got here. You know, he's so athletic, he's so strong, he's so fast and, you know, he's got a let natural talent but he's the best attributes he's worked, I think. You know, he sits next to me in the meeting and I see all the notes he takes down like he's got his daughter there and he's just so locked in and so hungry to get better. So it's a credit to him and he's worked ethic because I've seen a lot of players throughout my career with the talent that he's got and the athletic ability that I don't have that other part. We've been mentioned here, exactly. We've been mentioned that the issues with the fiends are really easy. Fixed out the moment. He used the word simple. I think it's 88.3 games

1:27:21you guys have conceded. How simple is it? Well, it's pretty simple. You just stop him scoring drawings. It is simple isn't it? It's pretty simple in my opinion. But, you know, obviously it's not, it's definitely a simple fix and it's not on one, one personal one-engineer team. It's a team fix and we'll be working on that this week. We know we've got it there. The season doesn't lie and to be the, I think, we're the second best defensive team. Lofi, if I take you back a little months ago when you first signed with this club, what were you wanting? And if we first fall to now, what have you got out of it? What I was wanting to start was, you know, I guess a different path to what I was on. You know, I wanted to go to a level level, my footy, just, you know, on and off the field as well. And how can I be a better person, how can I be a football player? And, you know, this club has definitely provided a lot to help me to get to those goals. Yeah, no, it's, my stay here has been awesome and, yeah, like, I can name a lot of things, but I think just me being a better person is probably up there and comes to my name. It's definitely culturally rich, my family, about to come here and share that with a lot of boys that have similar cultures. It's awesome. You mentioned your relationship with Tain. Obviously, you know, Tana really well, as well from your time at Gold Coast. So, have you clicked with here? Who's made that process a little enjoyable? I don't see my Remy, Prince Ali. He's been cool, he's... he's so funny, man. Those triple ways, he just makes it so much easier, and yeah, and he's been another part of what I've been, you know, on the right path. And it's awesome to see him and strive for his goal, bro, because he's killing at the moment. So, there's a lot of other boys on Tain, Tana Stale, there's young boys, it's so cool to just see them. Young boys be so professional with such a rich club, and I think that's something to strive for.

1:34:27For everyone, then, it's awesome, man. I just have the connection with a lot of boys, eh? There's not really, like, stand up for me, all the boys are pretty much up there. We're here of Andrew Weepster in a way, being like this player whisperer for what he does for people and just takes them to another level. What's we've been done for you? For me, you know, me and where we always have those chats and, you know, it's kind of hard, but it's kind of hard to really have a standout for me, but I think the best one I'd go for is, you know, just playing my own footing. I think it's going to be hugely high-scoring. 47.5 feels under... Yeah, $1.90 can get for over that, which is nearly $1.99. Well, the dolphins haven't been scoring as many points as perhaps would expect from them in recent times, but they're going for a club record of seven consecutive wins, and they're still scoring over 20 points most games. So they're on an absolute run at the moment.

But if they can sur it up against a very potent and dangerous dolphin side, that can score points very quickly, particularly wide,

1:44:41Spell, just in case returns from an even longer break. Hasn't raced since Champions Day. Pace 420, Phil Jean was good for a second last start and pays 250, and I215 for a play 620 for a win. A win stayed a valour, steps back in grade. Perhaps a bit of Tiago's. Tax though for the favorite because it is a very tricky race. Can I ask if any Colour-meads stakes? Do they have to have a four-by-two each jockey as well when they go round? Or is it a sheep? It's been a year now. I don't know. It's been a race that's been around forever. The Colour-meads trophy, obviously named after. Great man, but I don't know how the race came into fruition. I don't know if they ever used the four-by-two. We're back to the standard Whip for this one, but Champions sort of sum up the problem here with a lot of these three-year-old races. Horses resuming with a reputation. Also, they're performed as two. At two is two years of age and returning and we're out for what are they to run a race.

1:45:44Both the favourites as you quite rightfully point out. First up into the system of players, it's one from one. But to you, I count on that a great weekend last weekend. They had allasley with a few winners up there. So they're getting right back on track as the track's hard. Then you throw on a wet track, which we have at Wooks Bay currently. And the problem becomes even trickier. He's got a reputation system of players right up in 2000, Gini's market betting off that one start and one win, obviously. So there's a bit of a reputation around the horse. Yes, they are backing him. They're not flooding into back him. So this market's probably got a little bit of movement in it. We've already seen some around Philly Jean. She's into four dollars now. She brings the car wear form out of Toeport there in the Chittix family Philly's race. And she was very good that day. I know there's a big tip around Cambridge in the light. Sand Logan trains, $650 into four dollars. That's been the movement there. Yes, then you've got these other form lines coming into this race. And how do they all stack up them in the likes of Texas Cowboys? A lot that one are a strong mate in race at the Rapa.

1:46:47Samurai Sword was very good even though it says fifth at a seven in the form line. Other run was very good behind Fort Chinato. And that's been a relatively strong form race already going forward. And a Shambot Jackson horse with a bit of a reputation. Magdates the first starter for the dangerous Andrew Campbell stable. They put some money on already around Magdates. So tricky affair. It always is with these three odds of the storm. Philly Jean has been the move. She's got good form behind the Philly that they rate highly now in hardware. So $650 into four dollars. But yeah, back to one you like as they say. Race hate is a really good form race though. Navigator has to carry 62 kilos. But is still 450 has placed in telegraphs. The Noon Siestas also there and apparently look good at the trials. Does have 58 though. Checkmate returns for the first time since February. Romanov's also back from a six months belt and one of his trial. Money's come for war. Princess tens and 750. Is there one you're leaning towards here mate? Because there's a lot of factors when you look at rest the class, the weight in this one.

1:47:52Yeah, exactly. You've got these three year olds returning as four year olds. The likes of Romanov 2000 Guinness want to tell him. Who is very good last preparation and war princess and she's a super speedy. Her form line is better than it looks with those couple of zeros. Her run on the Kiwi was unlucky and her run the correct a million for fourth prior was very good. And she sets up welder for a fresh upper sum with the 53 to run them along. There's a fair bit of speed in the race. Afternoon Siestas are top quality mayor. She won a cuddle stakes before placing in a thoroughbred breeders after that. She's a dealer and she's the local runner for Trina John Barry. And there is plenty of money to suggest you run a race first up afternoon Siestas. You've got to respect that money around war princess. Kalamaz are losing results at $13. So that's the tucking in there. Then you've got these horses that having their first up run they've got to start somewhere. The likes of a navigator there were 62 telegrams you'll be in. Some of our biggest prints over the summer period. I thought check mates in for a big preparation of what I saw at the trials.

1:48:56Behind drops of God pulling the sockets out of the shoulders there of the jockey. Is it across the line check mates? I think check mates in for a big preparation is it tomorrow? Maybe not with baby bigger fish to fry down the line. I thought afternoon Siestas to be awfully hard to beat personally. First up on our home track. But war princess. She can run them along and if she finds that right form she might be hard to beg back. At record in the Canterbury bell stakes is the feature sweetest things $1.95. That was last March though after that Monday were two sides produced their last race there. Outback girls the second favourite at $6.50 and one here last start. Doubtable is $9.50 finished third in that race. Platinum of dance. If they didn't think there was a winning chance they wouldn't have been really sent down by the ladder crew but paying $15. This is a tricky one outside of the $1.95 favourite third. Yeah and that's what makes it tricky again. We've got a similar setup to the Cologne Meads trophy and the fact that we've got a relatively short price

1:49:57to our favourite resuming from a relatively long spell. In terms of CVs sweetest things certainly deserves to be a clear favourite in the race. She was very good running. She wasn't seeking an authorised produce behind C's the day and the lead up form has been very good. So arguably you can put a case that might be the best maiden in the country sweetest thing. It's a $1.95 or $1.90 out to $2.05. Again she'll have a thousand guineas in mind down the track she's $10 to win that. So again a little bit like the last favourite that backing it but not super confident. So maybe the run of it improve it. What does that mean? It means there's potential for movement outside of that and we have seen some around outback girls already. She's $7.50 into $5.50 and who won over the thousand metres? I was devastating last time. Steven Hunt was backed up on the clock and the ratings around outback girl. No fluker one. Even though she paid a big price at $22. So outback girl, she's up and running.

1:50:59She's had that run back but a residual fitness and she could be improved again. The money's certainly there around outback girl. Then Glamour Extreme chased home outback girl last time out 12 into 7. Who's just happened in the last half an hour or so? There was money for it last time when it raced outback girl. So don't leave Glamour Extreme out and again out of that same race. There's been a move at odds right down the bottom there for the Keeta. It was unlucky. He had got no run on the straight. It was on day boo that day for the 7th. 41 into 23 so a bit of a big price around the 14. The Keeta maybe needed to be included in the same race. Multifu-quanalo's exactas trifectas but outback girl if she can replicate what she did last time to the races. She might just run away and hide. Got about 10 seconds brother, what's your best of the weekend? I went Mara Nello race 5, I hate things.
