Frontier Gentleman - "Big Sam for Governor" (1958)

About this episode

Frontier Gentleman presents “Big Sam for Governor,” originally broadcast on CBS on March 16, 1958. In this seventh network episode, John Dehner stars as J. B. Kendall, the London Times correspondent, in a script written, produced, and directed by Antony Ellis.

In Helena, Montana Territory, the powerful Big Sam Hobday decides he wants more than local influence—he wants the governor’s office. When he pressures Kendall to write a favorable account for his campaign, the English journalist finds himself drawn into the hard-edged world of frontier politics. Jack Kruschen, Stacy Harris, Vic Perrin, Jean Carson, Harry Bartell, and Charles Seel are featured.

Old Time Western Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
