Story Transcript:
Sk: V Bratislave, keď letné slnko kreslilo obrazy cez veľké okná starého sirotinca, sa Marek pomaly prebudil.
En: In Bratislava, when the summer sun painted pictures through the large windows of the old orphanage, Marek slowly woke up.
Sk: Všade okolo neho bola vôňa levandule, ktorú na parapety postavila Katka, aby upokojila deti.
En: All around him was the scent of lavender, which Katka had placed on the windowsills to calm the children.
En: Marek felt weak, but also determined.
Sk: Nedávno mal operáciu slepého čreva a teraz musel odpočívať.
En: He had recently had an appendectomy and now needed to rest.
Sk: Ale v srdci nosil plán.
En: But in his heart, he carried a plan.
En: He wanted to organize a big end-of-summer celebration for all the children in the orphanage.
Sk: Vedel, že im to zanechá krásne spomienky.
En: He knew it would leave them with beautiful memories.
En: The problem was that Marek couldn't lift heavy things or stand for long periods.
Sk: Katka a Lukáš ho denne navštevovali, prinášali mu obrázky a novinky.
En: Katka and Lukáš visited him daily, bringing him drawings and news.
En: Lukáš admired Marek like an older brother, and Marek wanted to show him that dreams can come true.
Sk: Jedného dňa, keď Lukáš prišiel navštíviť Mareka, Marek sa rozhodol.
En: One day, when Lukáš came to visit Marek, Marek made a decision.
Sk: "Potrebujem tvoju pomoc, Lukáš," povedal.
En: "I need your help, Lukáš," he said.
Sk: "Môžeme spolu pripraviť oslavu?
En: "Can we prepare the celebration together?"
Sk: " Lukáš sa nadšene usmial a prikývol.
En: Lukáš smiled enthusiastically and nodded.
Sk: Potom zavolali Katku, ktorá vždy vedela, kde nájsť najlepšie dekoračné materiály.
En: Then they called Katka, who always knew where to find the best decorative materials.
Sk: Spoločne začali plánovať.
En: Together, they began to plan.
Sk: Keď sa Marek zotavoval, Katka s Lukášom pripravovali všetko potrebné – balóny, hry a hudbu.
En: As Marek recovered, Katka and Lukáš prepared everything needed — balloons, games, and music.
Sk: Na Marekovo želanie mali v pláne oslavu na záhrade, kde farebné kvety tancovali vo vetre.
En: According to Marek's wish, they planned the celebration in the garden, where colorful flowers danced in the wind.
Sk: Ale ráno pred oslavou sa všetko zmenilo.
En: But the morning before the celebration, everything changed.
Sk: Nebo bolo šedé a silný vietor začal ohýbať stromy.
En: The sky was gray, and a strong wind started to bend the trees.
En: Marek looked out the window apprehensively, fearing that everything would be ruined.
En: However, Lukáš grabbed his hand, and Katka said with a smile, "Marek, it doesn't matter where it will be.
Sk: Záleží na tom, že sme spolu.
En: What matters is that we're together."
Sk: "Rýchlo presunuli výzdobu do veľkej spoločenskej miestnosti.
En: They quickly moved the decorations into the large common room.
Sk: Deti prichádzali so smiechom a všetko bolo pripravené.
En: The children arrived with laughter, and everything was ready.
Sk: Katka priniesla čokoládové zákusky, ktoré deti zbožňovali, a Marek, aj keď ešte unavený, zakrýval svoje obavy.
En: Katka brought chocolate pastries that the children adored, and Marek, although still tired, hid his worries.
Sk: Keď sa začali hry a hlasy detí naplnili miestnosť, Marek sa usmial.
En: When the games began and the children's voices filled the room, Marek smiled.
En: He realized that it was this laughter and contentment, this sense of community, that made the day truly special.
Sk: A nielen výzdoba a miesto.
En: Not just the decorations and the place.
En: He understood that he could also ask for help and that it wasn't a sign of weakness.
Sk: Večer, keď slnko zapadalo a deti si posadali k počúvaniu príbehov, Marek sa cítil spokojný.
En: In the evening, as the sun set and the children sat down to listen to stories, Marek felt content.
En: He learned that with friends by your side, anything is possible.
Sk: Oslava bola úspechom – a letné spomienky, aj keď možno daždivé, zostanú navždy teplé.
En: The celebration was a success — and the summer memories, even if perhaps rainy, would remain forever warm.
