French Soldier Killed in Lebanon Ambush

0:00On April 18th, a French soldier got killed during a UN peacekeeping patrol in Southern Lebanon when they got ambushed by small arms fire from an armed group. This happened Saturday morning as the team cleared explosives on a road near the village of Gondaria to reach an isolated outpost. He took a direct gunshot wound and three other peacekeepers were hurt, too seriously. Despite efforts to save him, he didn't make it. The attack came just one day after a ceasefire kicked in between Lebanon and Israel on Friday. The peacekeepers were part of Unifile, trying to reopen a route blocked by recent fighting between Hezbollah and Israeli forces. French President Emmanuel Macron straight up blamed Hezbollah, saying everything points to them. He hit up Lebanese leaders, demanding they arrest those responsible and protect you in troops.
