Laurie Bembenek was convicted of murdering her new husband's ex-wife, Christine Schultz, by shooting her in her own home. The evidence seemed to point to Laurie, but she was adamant that she had been framed. As it turned out, Laurie was a former police officer who had made enemies in the department for which her husband Fred currently worked and the only witnesses to the crime said that Laurie didn't do it.
