On March 7th, a wildlife photographer in East Yorkshire snapped photos of a fox swimming right alongside ducks and geese at RSPB Black Toph Sands. Nature Reserve. This clever fox has picked an island in the title Readbed to raise her cubs, offering them extra safety from land threats. It's the second straight year she's chosen this spot. And the reserve sits on the south bank of the River Oos as it flows into the Humber estuary. Reserve manager Pete Short notes the birds they calm around her in the water since foxes can't easily pounce on prey there. Their legs just don't work. Right for chasing. With the largest title Readbed in England drawing in wildfowl and waiters to its lagoon and mud flats, this fox family adds a peaceful twist to the Daily Wildlife Show.
