Forty-Niners Trade Winters to Cowboys

Winters had stepped up big time, starting all 17 games last season and becoming a locker-room favorite after coming in as a 6th round pick. From TCU, the 49ers felt solid at linebacker after resigning Drey Greenlaw this offseason, so Winters' role was shrinking. GM John Lynch called it a tough move, but perfect timing since Dallas had been chasing him for weeks, even after fail talks with Houston and Miami, for other guys.
