This is Corey with NFL News Today, Powered by the Daily News Now. Subscribe for daily updates on your team. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver group faces a massive overhaul heading into 2026. Their top three receivers from 2023, Juan Jennings, Brandon Ayuk, and Debo Samuel are all gone. Samuel already signed with Washington last off season, while Jennings and Ayuk are departing this year. The team figured they might lose one or two, but losing all three caught them off guard. They counted on Ayuk sticking around as the main outside threat next to their first round pick from two years back, Ricky Peersol. Now Peersol steps up as the leader in year three, joined by Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowling, and DeMarcus Robinson. That's a thin group, and fans worry it lacks punch without big additions. Data shows Peersol's got elite separation skills on the outside, ranking third in the league at 19% win rate last season. He trails only Devonte Adams in Jackson Smith, Injigba, but a PCL injury cut his year short

after some promising flashes. This is Peersol's make or break season. The 49ers need him to anchor the room, even if they grab a draft pick at 27th overall, or a cheap reagent.
