Fort Worth Waives All Development Fees for Texas A&M Campus

They already greenlit $800,000 in waivers back in December 2024 for the Law and Education Building and the upcoming research and innovation building but cost ballooned so the full waiver passed unanimously with no debate. This covers everything from building permits to temporary street closures and the first two buildings alone will top $500 million in. Total costs according to Texas A&M Fort Worth's Chief Operating Officer, Bobby Aheadia. The city's been backing this campus from day one through the Fort Worth Terrent County Innovation Partnership split funded by the city and county. All to bring more Texas A&M muscle to town and spark big economic vibes. Construction on that research and innovation building kicks off this summer. Housing state agencies, classrooms, labs and more positioning the spot as a hub for industries and innovation.
