I'm Larry Mullins, and here are today's top local stories. 1010 Wins was at an arraignment in Brooklyn today, where a retired NYPD sergeant and three others are on the hot seat arrested in a federal corruption probe tied to security at city migrant shelters. That's not all though. Investigators also want to know of two other people. One, a city council member, the other, a suspended member of governor local staff, were in Kahoot, Marla Diamond following it all for us. The city provided $7 million to retired NYPD sergeant Eduardo St. Fort's firm to provide security services to several migrant shelters. The federal probe is looking into whether Brooklyn Councilwoman Farah Lewis and her sister Debbie Lewis profited from the awarding of that money. City records show five of the six contracts awarded to St. Fort Security firm were done on an emergency basis, meaning bids were not solicited. Debbie Lewis has been placed on leave from governor Hocault's office.

Also on this Tuesday, a gruesome instance of animal cruelty today out of Queens. Prosecutors say Jalen Gonzalez killed his girlfriend's cat by pulling the animal by her head and leg as if stretching her apart. The 23-year-old arranged a day for animal cruelty, attempted assault and harassment. Prosecutors say Gonzalez got drunk at his girlfriend's home back in January and then refused to leave, allegedly putting his hands on the woman. Well, she left the apartment to call for help. Says when she returned, Gonzalez was allegedly already hurting the poor kitty. We won't go into the awful details, but just know the cat suffered a series of significant injuries and died a short time later. If convicted, Gonzalez faces up to two years in jail. A Long Island contractor accused of scamming people out of tens of thousands of dollars. The Suffolk County D.A. says families handed over tens of thousands of dollars

In one case, Cortez allegedly took money to build a pool and a pool house in Great River. But the D.A. says he never even attempted to get the permits for the projects. Sophie, a whole 10-10 wins and 92-3 FAM on Long Island. In other news on this Tuesday, Mayor M. Donnie reversing course now on the TikTok band for city agencies. He says government agencies will once again be allowed to use the video platform, but under very strict guidelines. When it comes to the TikTok usage, there's going to be specific procedures and also that it will be authorized. Users will be able to use this on city devices. Agencies have to designate specific staffers to use the app, assign government-issued devices just for TikTok, and accounts must be created using agency-managed credentials. I'd say, well, that's no fun. Anyway, the Adams administration banned TikTok for city agencies in 2023 due to security concerns

Well, City just unveiled plans to build 10 new public electric vehicle fast charging stations across Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx. First one was announced today at a municipal lot on 39th Avenue in downtown Flushing. Transportation Commissioner Mike Fland says this expansion, part of the city's climate goals, hopefully pushing more drivers to go electric. For those who drive, we need to make going electric easy. And that starts with fast, affordable charging in every part of the city. Yeah. City says the new locations will open later this year and early 2027, including Brighton Beach, Rockaway Park, Astoria, and Fordham Road up in the Bronx. The parents of a fallen Staten Island service member being honored today now for their public service in the wake of his death. The late staff Sergeant Michael Olis served with the US Army and lost his life in 2013. His parents Robert and Linda Hollis who have dedicated their entire lives
