Former Cop Jailed for Teen Abuse

0:00On April 28th, a former cop named Derek Feast just got hit with a 12-year prison sentence for indecent assaults on four teenage boys. This all went down between 1972 and 1991 in Harfordshire and Norfolk, England. He was convicted on 17 counts as St. Albans Crown Court back in February. Feast targeted three victims while volunteering as a scout leader in Harfordshire, where he also worked as a police officer in the 70s and early 80s. The fourth assault happened in a news agent shop in Norfolk when he was 46 years old. Police from Harfordshire say these crimes, no matter how old, will always get chased down for justice. They highlight how twisted it is that a cop and scout leader abuse kids as young as 12 or 13, with attacks happening on trips, at meetings, and even in his home. Investigators trace Feast to the Isle of Molle in Scotland and interviewed him last July. One victim reported right away in 1991, but he got released back then with no charges.

1:02He denied most contact, but claimed one was consensual. Feast has to serve at least six years before parole and stays on the sex offenders register for life. Cases like this remind everyone, reporting abuse even decades later, leads to real accountability.
