During the Nazi regime (1933-1945), literature was subjected to a violent ideological purge. Under the concept of degenerate art, the Third Reich not only persecuted creators, but attempted to physically erase any thought contrary to its doctrine.

What is outrageous, and even laughable, is that in today's Spain, city councils or social media backlash cancel or suspend plays.
