Footballer Joey Barton Charged with Assault

0:00On March 10th, former footballer and podcaster, Joey Barton, faces charges for a serious assault near a golf club in Mercyside. The 43-year-old, whose full name is Joseph Anthony Barton, has been accused of wounding with intent after an incident on Sunday March 8th. Police responded around 9 p.m. to reports of a fight near Hoyton and Prescott Golf Club. They found a man with severe injuries to his face and ribs, who was rushed to hospital. The victim remains unstable with serious condition there. Barton, from Fox Bend Clothes and Witness, was one of two men arrested at the scene. Meanwhile, authorities also charged 50-year-old Gary O'Grady from Seal Road in Hoyton with the same offense. Both men stayed in custody ahead of their court date. Their due and viral magistrates court this afternoon, Tuesday. On March 10th, as the tech does wrap up their investigation into the attack.
