Florida Gators Coach Todd Golden: A-Minus Grade, Title Contender

0:00On April 28, CVS Sports' Matt Norlander dropped his four-year grades on those 2022 coaching hires and Florida snagged the top spot. With an A-minus for bringing in Todd Golden, the only high major program from that class to hit A-Range. Golden turned the gators around fast, posting a 103 wins to 41 losses record overall, going 7-2 in the NCAA tournament, and averaging a 27th finish on Kenpaw rankings. At national championship run last season, in 2024-25, put Florida back among the Elite Top 10 programs, just like the glory. Days under Billy Donovan, and now at age 40, Golden's already in his third contract, talks with the AD. A couple things kept it from a full A, his first year wins 16 and 17 without a tournament bid, plus that Title IX probe hung over his. Third season, though he got fully cleared, meanwhile, heading into year 5, the gators could grab pre-season number 1 status, the second time ever after 2006 with 87.
