Flood Warnings in Australia's Northern Territory

Beeswick on the Waterhouse River has reached 8.1 meters in rising, with major flooding expected by evening. Meanwhile, daily river is in significant prolonged major flooding set to top 15.5 meters this morning surpassing the 19. 57 record. Beeswick's roughly 540 residents have not been evacuated but many are on higher ground. They've been offered shelter at a school or hall in nearby Mataranka. All daily river residents were evacuated over the weekend and are now at Foskey Pavilion on the Darwin showgrounds. This marks the second displacement for the community this year. In Catherine, overnight rain pushed flood levels back to moderate. Still, the Northern Territory government is launching pop-up schools around town for safe supervision and activities.
