They jumped ahead early in the second period and never looked back, out shooting Florida in every frame. The Flames grabbed the lead on goals from Joel Fariby and Victor O'Lawson before the second intermission. Florida clawed one back early in the third, but Calgary sealed it late with power plate tallies from Morgan Frost and Matt Coronado. Fans buzzed about a scary moment when Conor Zerry took a hard hit from AJ Greer and slam headfirst into the boards. Zerry walked off but didn't return, while Greer drew a major penalty and ejection. The Flames structured play wore down the Panthers, who were on the second night of a back-to-back. Standout performers included the line of Michael Backlin, Blake Coleman and Fariby, who set the tone all game. Justin Wolf was steady in net for Calgary, helping keep things low event.
