Flags Fly Forever, Episode 279: The Big Short
About this episode
Five Star: Bo Bichette and Fernando Tatis Jr. create some cognitive dissonance.
Four Star: Bret gets starry eyed over Xander Bogaerts and Bobby Witt Jr.; Bret and Mike can’t quit Francisco Lindor, accidentally disclose they are Mets fans leading everyone to openly question their sanity. Mike and Bret talk about how Tim Anderson has an extremely Tim Anderson profile. The fabled Trevor Story has left Coors, the heat on him has cooled. Wander Franco: Estimate him at your own peril; Bret compares Franco to Witt. Corey Seager and Carlos Correa are the consummate risk vs reward players.
Three Star: Heart attack inducing. Mike and Bret try to focus on the positives of Gleyber Torres, this does not go very well. Our hosts go into the trust tree and discuss the shame of their fondness for Amed Rosario. Mike – like most of our BP analysts – have appreciation for Willy Adames.
Two Star: Oneil Cruz has generated excitement. Nicky Lopez is almost adequate and the margin for error is razor thin. Mike has trust issues with Brandon Crawford and Eugenio Suarez; Bret is more willing to be hurt by Suarez.
America’s Favorite Game: 1 Star Tier or Off the Board Selection…Bret loves Joey Wendle and Mike feels that Jeremy Pena is completely overlooked. Bret then advocates for Didi Gregorious and Geraldo Perdomo.
