First Brands Group Layoffs: 2,000 Jobs Cut

First Brands Group, the bankrupt maker of auto parts like fram filters, auto light spark plugs, and ankle wipers, is ramping up layoffs and plant. Closures, as its financial woes worsen. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and can't line up buyers or backers to keep things afloat. Earlier this week, after cutting over 1,200 jobs by shedding 4 Ohio plants, new filings revealed more pain ahead. In Brownsville, Texas, three facilities are closing. April 30th, including a major manufacturing site and a distribution center, wiping out 5, 171 positions from machine operators to warehouse staff. Meanwhile, in Fadeville, Tennessee, their modding and die plan is also closing on the same date, affecting 333 workers like, technicians and supervisors. These non-union employees will get help from state workforce agencies for retraining and job placement. The cuts span multiple states, including Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois,
