Fire at Castleton Court in Denton: No Injuries

0:00On May 1st, firefighters hit Castleton Court in Denton last night, around 9.50pm, on April 30th, after a blaze sparked in the lift shaft of that high-rise tower block, six engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue rolled out quick to tackle it, and luckily no one got hurt in the chaos. Word is there, was also fire damage to a doormat right outside a flat door on the fourth floor, turning what could have been a small mess into a reel. Scare for residents, stacked up in the building. A 28-year-old local named Jessica Kelly was the first to call it in, spotting the flames and hitting up emergency chat with police. She called it straight scary, especially since the fire service arrived after it mostly died out, but everyone stayed safe. Crews did their checks on the lift shaft, made sure the spot was secure, and bounced after just 20 minutes on scene, according to fire officials. Police logged the report of that small fire, too, but they are not treating it as a crime right now, leaving folks in Denton hoping for some calm in. They're towers.
