FFT Express - 6 BOLD Predictions for 2026! Jefferson BUSTS, KC Concepcion dominates, Lions OFFENSE Cooks, & More! (09/02 Fantasy Football)

About this episode

Dave Richard has six bold predictions for the 2026 fantasy football season — and some of them are guaranteed to spark a debate. From KC Concepcion catching 100+ passes and Isaiah Likely finishing among the top six tight ends in PPR points per game to the Lions leading the NFL in scoring, Dave is making some aggressive calls before the season begins. He also has some major fade calls, including Justin Jefferson failing to average 16 PPR points per game, Rashee Rice falling short of 15 PPR points per game, and Ashton Jeanty, Jeremiyah Love and Breece Hall all failing to average 15 PPR points per game. Which of Dave’s bold predictions do you believe — and which one is going to age terribly?

It's time for my favorite topic of the year bold predictions on FFT Express Hello Dave Are you gonna start whispering Express again? Yeah, when I'm feeling it I was feeling like a whisper there. Why are you move what why standing and moving your desk? What's going on? I got a lot of energy right now coming up with bold predictions particularly on short notice is Getting the juices flowing. I'm pretty pumped about it wanted to get on my feet and fire off these bold predictions I've got five bold predictions involving three four five six seven eight players Okay, let's go least spicy to Spiciest Okay, least spicy is at least I think this is the least spicy is his casey conception on gets a hundred catches And I was originally gonna say he's going to set the rookie record for receptions among wide receivers But I decided to lower that by nine hole catches I wanted league neighbors to still hold that record of course Brock powers has the actual record

But he's a tight end, but I think conception just dominates targets for can't for for can't city for Cleveland and See the browns throwing a lot. I think he's their best receiver. I've been taking him in round eight I'm not gonna slow down. I think he's got the speed the quickness that's gonna get him open a lot and make him an easy target for whoever the quarterback is That's pretty spicy if that's the least spicy. I think that's my least Well, maybe this next one is the least spicy then yeah Let's okay, so concept because only five wide receivers had a hundred catches last year So for a concept sooner that would be pretty awesome. Okay, Dave. What's next? Isaiah likely finishes top six in PPR points per game least spice less spicy That's less spicy the conception on okay Well, you're you are a master of spice no question about it when it comes to sauces and chicken wings and other delicacies out there so you would know but I think likely just sees a lot of target volume in New York We've seen him perform well when he has gotten targets six career or not six. I'm all over the place today

I told you about juices are flowing. Yeah nine career games with at least six targets eight times as he had 12 and a FPP are points that was in Baltimore when he wasn't the number two target getter That was when he occasionally had six or more targets per game now he should routinely get six targets per game from one Jackson dark and I think he'll end up being very good for fantasy managers Yep, I love it. You talked about him today as one of the best values going in the 90s right now Isaiah likely Definitely a good pick around eight or nine around around eight or nine. Okay, let's get one more Little spicier than Isaiah likely before the break Jerregaugh finishes top five and fantasy points per game and the Lions finished first in the NFL in points per game I think it's pretty damn spicy because You know, let me I'm gonna get my notes here. Well, you talk about the basis for it Then I'll tell you why it's probably not going to happen, which is why this is a bold prediction. Go ahead

I think the Lions defenses in trouble. I think their schedule is favorable I love how Jerregaugh splits are he literally averages five fantasy points per game more when he's playing indoors and then outdoors only six games this year outdoors Two of them come in the last two weeks of the season and I think everything looks good for Detroit this year Maybe not the interior of that offensive line that could be a little bit better, but on paper it seems okay Jamir Gibbs is the 101 he's gonna do damage in the passing game We love him on Ross St. Brown. We love James and Williams. We love Sam LaPorta This feels like a season where Detroit is gonna be in a bunch of high scoring games And I think they're gonna win a lot of them and Jerregaugh will be a big reason why So he's been eighth or ninth per game two straight seasons. He's been 13th or better per game four straight seasons So he considering golf is basically going as 2b12 you can pretty much say you're drafting him at his floor Why isn't hard for him to finish top five? I don't have necessarily top five, but 24 fantasy points per game

That's most likely gonna make you top five Matthew Stafford is the only quarter Matthew Stafford last year the only quarterback in the last four seasons to average 24 or more for fantasy points per game and six point per passing touchdown leagues while being on pace for fewer than 200 rushing yards So it's difficult however it used to happen kind of a lot I mean Stafford did it a different time Tom Brady multiple times Matt Ryan twice drew breeze multiple times Ben Rathasberger Andrew Luck that press Scott they all averaged 24 or more points per game while being on pace for fewer than 200 rushing yards Golf's not gonna come anywhere near 200. He's not gonna come near 100 So it's possible and could he lead the league in passing could you just have that special 40 plus touchdown season? Yeah, which is absolutely in play given the target said he has we know he's got a good enough arm to get there in the Lions I think you're gonna throw more okay, so pretty spicy. We'll be right back with Colley and day takes from Dave after this

We're back on express Quasai whisper there all right. We've gotten conception likely golf. What do we got? What's next? Let's talk about guys. We're gonna take in the early rounds and this is negative Justin Jefferson Fails to average 16 ppr points per game and Rishi rice fails to average 15 ppr points per game So spicy my goodness There's no doubting Justin Jefferson's ability. I'm doubting the quarterback Murray hasn't produced the fantasy receiver north of 15 ppr points per game since deandre Hopkins did it in five games in 2022 That's also the last time any wide receivers average even 13 ppr points per game with Kyler Murray It's not like he's had a cavalcade of elite wide receivers coming in and out of Arizona Marquis Brown Marvin Harrison Jr Obviously these aren't on the same level as Justin Jefferson But we're coming off of the year where the Vikings passing game wasn't prolific and when it was it was Carson

Wentz under center and we saw Justin's effort in in that five game stretch average just about 16 ppr points per game. I think he falls just a shade under it in this bull prediction Obviously, I wouldn't be drafting him as a top 20 player if I thought he wasn't gonna be able to get there It's just a bull prediction. It's just for fun Rices someone I might actually buy into this bull prediction a little bit because I think the tenor of this chief's offense Is going to change as long as Kenneth Walker is healthy? We know they haven't been able to run the ball worth a lick the last few years Rishi rice is benefited because he's gotten so many short area targets red zone targets He's been in extension of the run game for lack of anybody else on this team being able to do it Same thing with Travis Kelsey Well now they've got a run game and not only do they have Kenneth Walker I liked what I saw from Emma Johnson this preseason So he might be able to pitch in a little bit too the more the chief's run the fewer targets that'll be there for Rishi rice Who let's face it just hasn't looked the same the last couple of seasons? I don't think we can expect him to have great efficiency

We can't expect him to have great efficiency and if it volume if his volume goes down Then you're going to be looking at somebody that's under 15 ppr points per game I mean to say I don't know what you mean by he hasn't looked the same the last couple of seasons He can't stay healthy But when he's been on the field he's one of the most consistent players in fantasy Uh the chief's been why but why because he gets a ton of targets exactly But they're not throwing as much but I don't certainly not to him I'm not sure I buy that they won't be throwing as much they've been top seven in in pass attempts per game Six straight seasons the lowest they've been in the mahalms era has been 15th per game They've been top 10 in all but one year with mahalms That's just Andy Reed that's just like what they do sure You know, I get it. Yeah And I would add that I would expect them to still throw a decent amount But I think fantasy managers and this isn't a bold prediction This is just how I genuinely feel. I think you've got to make a choice on who do you trust more Between Kenneth Walker the third and Rashee rice you can't take them both

I would want to have both of them on my fantasy team one of them should be great one of them should be okay There's also a world where both of them are just okay So I would be a little nervous buying into both of them I'm not drafting Rashee rice unless it's really close to the end of round two and that's in full ppr Round three you can I'm almost passing on them and uh or I'm sorry not in ppr I'm passing on them in early round three and I think there's a scenario where they're both great And again, I've said it a number of times But the last three years we haven't really had a great patch of mahalms We haven't really had a great chief's offense. They've been a very bad your homes last year And not as a passer as a rusher. Yes as a passer. Yeah, he was good But you know the chief's offense is really has missed an explosive element in both the passing game and the running game I don't see how they have it in the passing game unless they've your worthy is you know a different player now Cyrus Allen Maybe um, but anyway, Rashee rice last year was the fifth best wide receiver in fantasy the year before that He played only three games. He was the second or third best wide receiver in fantasy

So I don't think he's gonna be that good again But they could have it they could just have a better offense. That's that's been always been my argument Now one thing I want to bring up Dave for for the Justin Jefferson thing this gets forgotten pretty quickly um Tramock bride last year with Kyler Murray First five games he averaged 12.5 points per game And then he averaged 21.1 in his last 12 games with percent So I haven't drafted Justin Jefferson once For what it's worth I did I just did I took him in around to as the six receiver. No, he was the seventh receiver off the board And look again, I just I think anybody is better than JJ McCarthy And I think Kyler certainly one of those guys But I would I'm not I'm not racing to take Justin Jefferson in round one But I think if I come on here and said Justin Jefferson shouldn't be a first round pick I don't think that that's a bold prediction That's like okay idiot. You don't think he's a top 12 overall player We're trying to get bolder at him. We're trying to to make some ways No, I let I like it. I would take all of the top 11 running backs over Jefferson

Even in full ppr I'm pretty close to that too. Yes. Okay last bold prediction I'm staying negative Astgen Gentie Jeremiah love breeze hall all failed average 15 ppr points per game this year Okay, let me just get a little bit of context Gentie I don't I think he came close to that last you was close he didn't do it Love Breeze hall has done it before he just hasn't done it I think the last two seasons or two of the last three seasons if you want me to look it up I got it right in front of me. I had 15.1 in 2024 13 last year Two of these teams. I don't think you're gonna score a ton of points. That's the Raiders and the Jets I think the Cardinals can score a ton of points. I don't know if love's gonna get them all They're all three going to share at this point gentie especially with the ankle injury that he has him glad He's working off on the side and Raiders practice now. He should be okay for week one just based on that alone But they're not going to try and put him on the field and in a year where in a year where the Raiders

Probably are gonna make the playoffs That's not a bullet prediction. That's kind of a spoiler at this point Why would the Raiders overwork gentie especially when Mike Washington has shown what they've shown him So I'm a little bit nervous about gentie getting that huge workload that we thought he was gonna have back in July And then same thing with Jeremiah Levin Arizona They're not expected to win this year So why would they overwork him and both of those seems by the way first year head coaches They're gonna be there for the long haul. They're expected to work with these running backs for the long haul I'm nervous about either one of these running backs coming through in a major way I'm not drafting any of these guys until around three Again, not bullet prediction. That's reality. I'm not taking any of them with a top 24 pick even in full PPR And breeze hall to me is more of a round four pick in full PPR I don't like the fact at all that he's gonna share with two other running backs I've talked a million times about how Frank Wright uses multiple running backs Frank Wright three times ten years as a play caller Is that a running back average 15 plus PPR points per game? I don't think this is gonna be time number four

Breeze hall is a great talent. He's gonna share too much and the jets aren't gonna score enough for him to come through a 15 PPR points That'll do it for bowl predictions with Dave Richard here on fantasy football today express. We'll talk to you next time. See you later everybody Paramount podcasts
