Renown Nathaniel Cooper, a convicted felon, stands accused of having more than 50 grams of methamphetamine ready to distribute, along with guns, he wasn't allowed to own. Investigators say Cooper sold over 50 grams of meth and held four firearms illegally during two separate incidents in Jefferson County. Those happen once in May and once in June of 2025. As a felon, Cooper is banned from owning any guns, which makes these charges even more serious. This case highlights the risks of drugs and weapons mixing in local communities. The Drug Enforcement Administration teamed up with the U.S. Marshall Service and Shelby County Sheriff's Office for the probe. It's all part of a bigger effort called Operation Take Back America.
