Farmer's Miraculous Recovery After Bull Attack

0:00On April 9th, a farmer from Castle Caulfield in County Tyrone dodged death by just three minutes during a brutal bull attack last year. Thomas Bowen was loading cattle at a mart in Kloger on May 17th, when the bull charged without warning, slamming into his stomach and launching, him through the air. Other farmers jumped in fast, holding off the bull and protecting Thomas on the ground as he rides in agony. They even slid a boot under his head to stop him from hurting himself more, then blanketed him up while the air ambulance raced from Lisburn. The chopper's crew put him in an induced coma right there, gave him a one and a half liter blood transfusion and flew him to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, all in 58 minutes flat. His kidneys, bow, liver, everything internal was wrecked, landing him in surgery before his wife and family even arrived. Thomas spent five days in a coma, lost three stone from drip feeding, but pulled through with steady recovery and his last operation before Christmas.
