Family Voting Scandal in UK By-Election

Watchdog Group Democracy Volunteers reported unusually high levels of it during Thursday's bi-election in Gorton and Denton, with four of their observers on site. They called it the worst case in their 10 years monitoring UK elections, issuing a statement right after polls closed. Officer Council pushed back, saying the group should have flagged problems earlier in that polling stations reported no issues that day. Democracy Volunteers countered that they had reached out to the council before going public and offered a meeting from Monday, which got turned down. Now the returning officer says it's not the time to meet amid a police probe and has asked for a detailed report with evidence to share with greater. Manchester Police, though none has arrived yet. Lord Hayward, a pass adviser to the group, agrees the reports are troubling but stresses the Greens' landslide win makes any impact negligible.
