Family Escapes Tree Crash in Bessemer Home

Powerful storms hit Bessimer, Alabama on Monday during a first alert weather day, causing a huge tree to crash onto a home where a mother and her. Four kids live. The family was out at the time, avoiding what could have been a deadly incident. The tree smashed the front of a house, making it almost unrecognizable. The homeowner, Keisha Yundes-Stevenson, had lived there for two years before the damage. Her son got home just seconds before the tree fell. He heard a loud crack, saw it coming down, and jumped off the porch to safety. Stevenson was stunned when she first saw the wreckage, but relief set in fast since everyone was okay. She feels thankful no one was inside, especially one child who often hangs out in the front room where the tree landed. The fallen tree blocks the entrance, so she cannot enter to check the full damage yet. It is too unsafe right now. She believes they lost all their clothes, furniture, TV, and other belongings.
