Bitcoin And . . . — Fake Jobs Report | Bitcoin News. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
It is 8.27am. Pacific Standard Time. It is Friday the 4th of September, 2026, and this is episode 1387 of Bitcoin. And oh my god, Astra. AI is coming and it's gonna kill us all. It's just it's just a freak show out there ladies and gentlemen. It's just it is just nothing it's no wonder everybody's in the bad mood. It's like just you're just completely blindsided every single day with bad news or potentially bad news or potentially horrifying news. It's just goes on and on and on and on. However, we are gonna start today down in El Salvador before we do anything about artificial intelligence. It looks like the IMF has reviewed just how El Salvador has been
buying Bitcoin and has come to a conclusion. And we'll tell you all about it. And then the CEO of AMC, American movies, cinema or whatever, you know, the old meme stock. They're very he's very or she's very I don't know what it is. The CEO of AMC is very upset with Robinhood because reasons. And then the jobs report came out. And I'm I'm done with fake bullshit metrics. 162,000 jobs were added in August. It's bullshit. And I'm gonna tell you why. Then in the second half of the show, treasurer has a little bit more problems except it's only with it's only with their customer database. Not not not seeds or entropy or
random number generators or anything like that. No, no, no, it's just customer data. 67,000 more customers have been exposed as the data breach over at treasurer seems to have widened. Then Bernie Sanders is gonna start us off with AI. And we're gonna finish with the whole open AI's Astra seems to be making some waves in the vulnerability space. So we'll we'll tell you all about it. But first, let's go down south. Grab ourselves a peanut collado or some other kind of coconut base drink and talk about El Salvador's post review Bitcoin accumulation. According to the IMF, it didn't use any public funds. So they bought Bitcoin, but they didn't use any actual El Salvador in. Fundage. I don't know, maybe Ezra Regraera will shed some light on this confusing thing.
Coin Telegraph. El Salvador used no public money. No public resources to accumulate Bitcoin after the first review of its International Monetary Fund financing program in June 2025, at least according to the lender. In a Thursday statement, the IMF said documents supplied by Salvadoran authorities verified that the accumulation came from private donations. According to the lender, the increase in El Salvador's holdings, therefore, did not reflect additional Bitcoin purchases financed with government resources. The IMF also said majority ownership and operational control of the Chivo wallet had been transferred to a private operator while the government retained a minority stake in custodial responsibilities. It said no further accumulation beyond documented donations is expected. The explanation addresses
how El Salvador's holdings grew after the first review after the country said in November of 2025 that it had acquired $1,090 Bitcoin totaling $100 million, renewing questions about the compliance with its $1.4 billion IMF program. In December of 2024, El Salvador agreed to limit public sector involvement in Bitcoin under the IMF package. The agreement made private sector Bitcoin acceptance voluntary required taxes to be paid in US dollars and called for government involvement in Chivo to be unwound. In March of 2025, the IMF issued new documents barring voluntary accumulation of Bitcoin by the public sector. President Naive Bukheli responded that the purchases were not stopping and said El Salvador would keep adding at least one BTC daily. And since then, El Salvador's
Bitcoin office has often posted that it has continued to accumulate Bitcoin. In July of 2025, the IMF offered an initial explanation saying no new Bitcoin had been purchased since the December agreement. It attributed increases to consolidation among government wallets. The November announcement reopened the issue however. An IMF representative previously told coin telegraph that the lender would not provide running commentary or or rather on announcements and would assess compliance and due course. According to the National Bitcoin offices official reserve tracker, El Salvador currently holds about 7,764 Bitcoin at Bitcoins current prices according to CoinGecko. The stockpile is worth somewhere around $625 million. The balance remains higher than before the IMF agreement reflecting additions
attributed by the IMF to private donations. So okay, what the hell does all this mean? There's a couple of ways this could be interpreted. One, it's totally true, which I kind of suspect that it is. Because here we have Naive Bukheli, El Salvador, you know, buying Bitcoin with government tax revenue and other kinds of revenue, which essentially represents the monetary wealth held by the government for the citizenry of El Salvador. So in effect, the citizens of El Salvador were buying this Bitcoin and somewhere not too pleased about it, somewhere or some didn't give a shit. But the IMF certainly did care. And for whatever reason Naive Bukheli decided that a $1.4 billion loan from the IMF was the best way in the world to get out from under the thumb of international banking. Because that's what he said he wanted to do. And then he got a loan from
the IMF, which I still puzzle over whatever doesn't matter. So all this time, you know, the El Salvador government and Naive Bukheli basically has been thumbing their nose at the IMF and rubbing their face into it that they're still buying Bitcoin. And the IMF has expressly said on several occasions that they're not buying Bitcoin. And I was confused and I've said that a couple of times that this is a confusing situation and nobody really knows what the hell's going on. So now we seem to have some kind of closure on this where the IMF is coming out and saying, okay, yeah, El Salvador still buying Bitcoin, but they're not buying it with government funds. Therefore not buying it with the citizenry's wealth. They're instead purchasing the Bitcoin through private donations. And that makes it all better because you know, the IMF is always only ever concerned with the health,
wealth, and well-being of any nation's citizens, right? Because yeah, of course, of course they are. Except that that's bullshit. They really are just a they're really just a kind of non-military monetary situation to make sure that the US dollar retains and remains the world reserve currency, which is one of the reasons why they demand that taxes be able to be paid in US dollars in El Salvador. Of course, that was made easy because the El Salvador a long time ago dropped all fiat currencies that they were producing and just decided to dollarize and use the US dollar. And for for reasons that make sense, it's actually easier to do that in some cases, especially for Latin American country because we're on, you know, we're all we're all sharing the Western hemisphere here in either event. You got the IMF with an easy explanation to why El Salvador isn't thumbing their nose at the IMF and why their loan package is going to be completely
fine. But it brings up the question, what private donations? Who? Who's who's front in the money in the private sector to the government of El Salvador for purchasing Bitcoin? And I can't help but you know, kind of go into the well, let's not, let's not presume that Naive Bukelli is completely like some kind of angelic character. He's not. He's probably prone to just as much chicane or he is anybody else's just because he's pretty much done some solid maneuvering for El Salvador in the past does not necessarily mean that he's done so with completely, you know, 100% godlike or godly type features, right? Which means he can kind of be like a gangster. So what what if this? What if the government of El Salvador is giving shit like very high
volume no bid contracts to private companies in return for the fact that those private companies kind of give a handshake agreement under the table that they'll they'll donate some of that so that El Salvador can continue to buy Bitcoin. This this is not me admonishing Bitcoin in any way shape or form. It's a testament to the fact that Bitcoin is just Bitcoin. It just it just does what the hell it's going to do and it's really the human beings around Bitcoin that that you know, either either solely its name or not. It doesn't really actually there's not really much you can do for selling Bitcoin's name because like I said, Bitcoin just does what Bitcoin does. But it wouldn't surprise me if there was some kind of under the table chicane or he going on between, you know, the government of El Salvador giving these, you know, huge high value no bid contracts to private
sector in return for, hey, you're going to also give us money back to buy Bitcoin. It's a way of the government being able to launder the government's money in the guys of it or because you want to be able to tell the IMF, hey, everything's above board. Do check it out. These are private donations. Oh, no, this is not government money. No, no, no, this is all private, bro. Because essentially, they wouldn't be able to prove otherwise. If that money actually went to people that got no big not even no bid just contracts from the government to do shit and they were getting a lot of money to do it. And they were putting money back into the El Salvador government to buy and the government said we're going to buy Bitcoin with it and the people said, sure, okay, that's why we're giving you money. Then the IMF doesn't really have any kind of leg to stand on, but they also the IMF have a space that we would consider breathing room because they were looking like they they were
looking like they were kind of a doormat in front of El Salvador because El Salvador is like, yeah, we'll take your $1.4 billion and we're still going to buy Bitcoin and we're not going to listen to anything that you have to say. Well, not necessarily. It looks like El Salvador is indeed complying with the IMF, yet they are still figuring out ways to purchase Bitcoin. And I just don't have a problem with it. I just don't I think it's actually rather funny. What's going to be interesting is that Naive Bukele comes up, he's going to be end of term president here pretty quick. And we still are not getting that much news as to, well, who, you know, is who's replacing Naive Bukele in the next presidential who gets elected next? Is it somebody from the same party that Naive Bukele is? Even if they're from a different party, do they believe the same way? Are they going to release all of the drug dealers that Naive Bukele put into prison, even though he did it in probably,
not the greatest of humanitarian terms, but he definitely cleaned up the country. Are they going to let them all out? Are they going to sell all their Bitcoin? Are they going to stop buying Bitcoin completely? We have literally no idea what the hell the future holds for El Salvador in any of this. But all we know is that they got a $1.4 billion IMF loan. Naive Bukele is not going to be president very much longer. And we have literally no idea what party is positioned to come into power. It's definitely something to watch. Now on to meme stocks. AMC stock jumps 21% overnight as CEO slams Robinhood over outrageous tokenized shares. Danny Park writing for the blog. AMC entertainment holdings CEO and chairman Adam Aaron has partially criticized Robinhood for tokenizing US stocks, including AMC's stock.
In a social media post on Thursday, Aaron stated that the tokenized versions of US stocks are not registered under federal securities laws and questioned how the offering could even be legal. Quote, I find this practice to be contemptible. Outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable, and vile. Aaron commented, quote, how can it possibly be legal? We have no connection to this at all and do not condone it in any way. End quote. I love it. It's contemptible, outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable, and vile. Damn. Well said, sir. The AMC CEO added that the company will immediately have its outside securities counsel review the matter. Meanwhile, Robinhood CEO and chairman of flawed 10F replied to Aaron's post with a simple question, quote, what's the concern?
He got 21% rise in your stock. What's your problem, bro? Have a beer, bro. Me and calm down, bro. Jesus, the block has reached out to Robinhood. No further comment is available. Anyway, Robinhood's own document says that stock tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by an offshore based affiliate, Robinhood assets. Now, these tokens give holders exposure to the underlying stock, but do not give them legal ownership of the company, nor any shareholder rights like being able to vote on issues about AMC or whatever company it is that you have a tokenized stock for. AMC stock is indeed up nearly 21% in overnight trading at around $3.07 according to trading view. Aaron's criticism centers on two points. AMC did not take part in the token issuance and the tokens are not registered under US securities law.
A similar dispute involving Robinhood took place last year when open AI publicly rejected Robinhood's token offerings tied to the AI company. Open AI said the tokens were not open AI equity, that it had not partnered with Robinhood, nor had it endorsed the product, and it has not approved any transfer of its shares. Ten have said at the time the tokens were not technically equity, but derivatives. Oh yay, that give retail investors exposure to the private company. He also argued that tokenization should not require an opt-in from the firms being tokenized. Wow, why we could do whatever we want with your shit, and you got nothing to say about it is essentially what 10F is telling these companies. This is just beyond the pale man. Tokenized stocks of gain traction by enabling around the clock trading faster settlement, access through crypto wallets
and on-chain markets, making regional equities accessible to global investors. According to the blocks dated dashboard, tokenized stocks have reached the total market cap of $13.4 billion as of September the first from just $2.5 billion at the start of this year. Wow, okay, so that's the end of the article. Holy shit man, it's Aaron's statement and the language that he used, that sort of illustrating just how powerfully Aaron is thinking about what's going on here. So what is going on? Okay, I got a private company. I've issued a total of 100 million shares over the past 10 years and that represents my company's shareholder stake. It represents a certain amount of how much my company is actually book worth, aside from what if I build cars, like what my machines
caused and that those are on the books and what my debt structure looks like. But how much is actually out there in my stock is definitely a major chunk of what my company is worth. Now here comes Robinhood. Hey, you know, we don't own any of your stock and we can't really do anything with your stock and but you know, here's what we're going to do. We're going to build this bullshit token that quote unquote represents shares of your company. Without you issuing any more shares of your company, we're going to issue tokenized shares of your company. We're not asking permission. We're not going to the SEC to get this product verified and you know legalized and regulated. Now we're not even going to do that. We're just going to sell it on the open market. We're going to sell AM AMC shares and shares are in quotes to the general public and you got no say about it and we didn't even ask the SEC permission. Aaron has every right to be as pissed off as he is to be able to
say the words contemptible outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable and vile and he's right. Now again, we go back to what Tenev said when Tenev was responding to these allegations of being vile and detestable. He said, what's the problem, bro? And sure on the surface, what is the problem? Shit, dude, all of your shareholders have benefited to the tune of 21% stock price rise in the past, whatever, 24 hours. So what's your problem, bro? Because it's all fake. It's all fake. This tokenized securities issue is going to get people into real trouble and I'm not talking about Tenev going to jail. I'm not talking about the SEC jumping down anybody's throat. In fact, I kind of don't expect the SEC to do a damn thing about this
nor the CFTC nor the FBI nor any other regulatory body that you can point to. Nobody's going to do dick about it because because why we need this to happen. It is the only way to keep several things true at once. The United States dollar being the most valuable and the king of all currencies on the globe to we got to make damn sure that we do whatever we can to make sure that the US stock market does not lose more than, oh, I don't know, X percent, especially before midterm elections, but essentially we want that permanently. And we've got a problem that only 10 companies in the United States are representing all of these growth across the S&P NASDAQ and the Dow. There's nowhere else
to go. The headroom ran out. So now we've got to manufacture the headroom. And Robinhood is more than happy to allow that shit to occur. This is where we are. This is this is the house we live in now where nobody actually makes anything for sale. Everybody's poor as dirt, yet we have 162,000 jobs, quote unquote added to the jobs roles as of August, which is bullshit. Would and I'll get to that here in a second. It's all fake. This is beyond being in a clown show in the third ring under the big top at a fucking circus. This this is a hallucination. This is like dropping a heroic dose of mushrooms alongside a metaphysical dose of LSD and just literally letting your mind get blown.
None of this is real. The money you use is not real. The paychecks people get are not real. The 401k's people think you're going to save their ass or not real. None of this is real. The prices you pay for anything aren't real. Health care at this point isn't real. Health insurance isn't actually real. These are all just manifestations to keep you basically locked under your desk so that you have no thoughts. You have no time to examine thoughts of truth or desire or want. You don't have time for that shit. You're inundated by a flood of crap rolling down hill and you're just trying to dodge it. And me too, I'm not separating myself out. I'm just saying this is sort of very illustrative where AMC their CEO uses words like disgusting outrageous
contemptible and excusable violent detestable about what Robinhood is doing with their quote-unquote stock. They're basically just printing it out of thin air and nobody seems to care. Even if it's like the reasoning of what's your problem, bro, your shareholders are even better off now, that's not going to last. In fact, the AMC shareholders could possibly get hurt as to exactly the structure of how later I don't know because we haven't seen this. Nobody has seen this ever before in the history of the stock market other than straight up fraud. Hey, man, you want some Chevron shares? I got some here. I got some pieces of paper that have shit. I'm sure that shit's happened. But not like this. This is different. This is almost sanctioned. Actually, as far as I can tell, it's 100% sanctioned by the SEC, CFC, FTC, FBI, any other, like I said, any other regulatory commission you can find. The Southern District of New York doesn't even
seem to be interested in what the hell's going on here. Yet they get pissed off about Bitcoin. It's bizarre, which is why you should learn how to bake. If you're going to learn how to do things like bake biscuits and cookies and all kinds of goodies, you're going to want to go get kid warps of vanilla at kid warps vanilla shop. Now, he uses a website called takemysats.com, takemysats.com. If you want to get right to his storefront to get the best vanilla pace that you can get, then just check out the show notes. There will be a link right to kid warps vanilla shop right there. But he takes, he or he makes vanilla paste out of pure 100% organic vanilla beans. Sometimes he makes something called chocolate vanilla paste, which is vanilla bean and cacao bean all ground up together in a nice paste that you can use. And you essentially use it just like you would use some kind of extract like almond extract or vanilla extract. You just
replace like one teaspoon of vanilla extract in a cookie recipe. Just replace it with one teaspoon of vanilla paste from kid warps vanilla shop at takemysats.com. That's kid warps vanilla shop. And make sure you use the code Bitcoin and because you will get a 10% discount from kid warp for everything that you buy. And it's important to use the code because it's the only way kid warps knows I made a sale for him here on the circle. It's where I bring plebs with goods and services to other plebs just like you who want to buy those goods and services. But you will be buying in a Bitcoin because if you're not selling in a Bitcoin, you're not in the circle. And kid warps vanilla shop does indeed take satoshi's for products. Again, use code Bitcoin and get 10% off that's kid warps vanilla shop Bitcoin and 10% off for the URL directly to buy it. Go check out the show notes. I US added stronger than expected 162,000 jobs in August. And it's all bullshit. In
fact, I had a chat GPT up that I had used to go and say, okay, here's where I'm at. 162,000 jobs added in August. You know, the economists were expecting like 50,000 or so. We'll get to the details here in a second. However, however, what am I trying to say? It's bullshit. And if I could actually, where the hell did it go? Hold on for a second. Okay, I'm sorry for the confusion. I had to go find something. I don't know where my where where my chat went. So I had to go look for it. Finally found it. So like 160, you know, 60,000 jobs were added in August. I call bullshit. Now, why do I call bullshit? For the past what five years sit where it will say between two,
three, four, five, yeah, past five years, there has been nothing but downward revisions in almost all of the job reports. That's just the last five years. Now structurally over the past 20 years, here's what I basically asked chat GPT to do. I said this on a US jobs report came out today. I presume it's complete bullshit because it'll be quote revised down later. In fact, I would like you to compile a table of every job report for the last 20 years and each reports eventual revision. Now, what it came back with was rather surprising. It said using a true rolling 20 year period, the initial seasonally adjusted payroll estimates with the BLS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, basically says that most of the time those job reports are actually not revised down. Now,
that's over the last 20 years. However, over the past five years, it has been nothing but revised down. So let me give you the break down here before we get into this bullshit report because it's causing everybody to think that the Fed is going to raise interest rates. That this new jobs report is saying basically saying, oh my god, the economy is so freaking hot. Dude, they're going to raise rates and the in-carry trade is going to be dead and cheap money is dead and everybody's going to get out of all risk assets all at once and everybody's going to die. Well, here's the facts on the ground. In the year 2022, all by itself, five of the 12 labor reports or jobs reports by the Bureau of Labor Statistics released five of the 12 were revised down. That's a little under half of the reports basically saying, hey, we have this many jobs in the next month or two months later. Well,
not really, we have to revise that down. We didn't have that many jobs actually created. We had 10,000 lives in 2023. 10 of the 12 monthly jobs reports were revised down to the tune of a total of 30,000 jobs over that year were actually lost and not gained. Okay, so in the year 2023, 12 reports came out. Basically, it said we had we've added this many jobs over the year, you know, for like over each month and then you add them all up and you get the year except that's not true because if you actually add up all the revisions, we lost 30,000 jobs that year. But for the year, we were on balance to add jobs, but that's not true. In 2020, and I forgot to tell you 2022, we lost 5,500 jobs over that 12 month period. Now 2024 doesn't look very much better because six out of the 12 reports
were revised downwards. That's half of the labor reports coming out of BLS were basically lies. Oh, well, that wasn't exactly true. We got to revise that down. So we ended the year less 20,100 jobs. If you think that's bad, check out 2025. 11 out of the 11 labor reports that we got and I don't know why we don't have 12 for the year 2025, I'm sure there's reasons, maybe chat screwed up. 11 out of 11 job reports, all of them in 2025 were revised down. We did not gain the amount of jobs that those reports said we gained. In fact, for the year, we've lost 58,000 jobs. In 2026 from January to just June, which doesn't include the July and August
reports, three of those six have been revised down. And on track, the United States is looking like we've lost 16,700 jobs in total, which is completely wiped out by the 164,000 jobs added this month. Do you actually believe this anymore? Do you actually think that when the jobs numbers or the CPI numbers or the PPI numbers or any of the fucking numbers that come out, do you actually believe them anymore? And if you don't, do you know anybody who does and I'm not talking about the buffoons on CNBC, they've got to pretend to believe it. And unless you know them personally, you don't know if Jim Kramer actually believes the numbers, but what about your friends and your family members, do they believe these numbers? Do they have any, do they hold any credibility for the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the United States government to actually tell them what's really going on in
the economy? All of that I wanted to get through so I could, so I could use it as a preface for this particular coin desk article, which was written by James Van Stratton and Stephen Alfer. The US labor market strengthened appreciably in August, mulch it, giving the growing group of hawks at the Federal Reserve, yet more ammunition to hike interest rates at the bank's policy meeting in less than two weeks. This is the circuit circus tent under which we live. According to the government's non-farm payrolls report released this morning, the US economy added 162 jobs last month. That was well above the consensus estimate of gaining 56,000 jobs and followed by the addition of 21,000 jobs in July. Oh, a rare upward revisement from the originally reported decline
of 23,000, which is also going to end up being bullshit because they'll revise that one again. Unemployment rate came in at 4.1 versus 4.1 expected in July's 4.1, so the unemployment rate stayed exactly the same, yet we gained 162,000 jobs. Of course, because it makes fucking complete sense, right? This is all bullshit. We live in a lie and the lie is just, it's just, don't but even feels bad about lying anymore because we lie so much to ourselves, to each other, we allow ourselves to be lied to by the boob tube and the talking heads. We just go on about our day trying to survive because now we're no longer in apathy, we're in survival mode. Our apathy is done such a number on the United States citizenry and the allowance of being able to, you know, of getting essentially a crew of sociopaths, 100% filling the halls of
Congress, the executive and the judicial, because at this point nobody escapes my eye or I don't care what color they're playing for red, blue, green, I don't give you. They all suck and this is why. 162,000 jobs added unemployment rate stays exactly the same for three months. Now, five years in the majority of those job reports were straight up lies. Oh, David, they only revised them. Now, you know what? I'm not giving, I'm not giving any quarter to any of these people any longer. They lied to me, they've lied to you, they've lied to everybody, every time they open their mouth, it's a fucking lie. So let's run the rest of the bullshit number, shall we? CNBC futures and commodities, Brent North Sea oil, crawling sideways in the green at 95, 60,
a barrel West Texas intermediate down a quarter to 9105 natural gas being the hedge is that it is 1.85% in the green back to just under $3 per thousand cubic feet gasoline up to one and two thirds to 318 a gallon and Merbon crude is down a row of ducks to 222 act well 2.22% to 102 40 and metals are having, you know, a bad day, palladium pretty much leading the pack down a row of ducks 2.22% to the downside gold is down 1.2 to 44 84 and six times platinum is down 0.15% silver is down 1 and a third to 66 77 copper is up is the only one in the green it's up a third. Ag is mostly mixed. Biggest winner today is coffee one and a quarter to the upside biggest loser appears to be wheat a row of ducks to the downside 2.22% in the red lean live cattle down a half lean hogs down 1 and a
half feeder cattle down 0.4% and the legacy indices are none too happy with the jobs report either S&P is down almost a half point NASDAQ is down only slightly though. Dow is down 0.62% and the S&P mini remains unchanged and we got Bitcoin at 79,460 bucks that has a means that it lost its 81,000 dollar handle we're chilling out at 1.6 trillion dollar market cap and we can get 17.9 ounces of shiny metal rocks with our one Bitcoin of which there are 20 million 79,451.13 of average fees per block or normal it's gonna take oh let's see 45 blocks to clear the 86,000 unconfermed transactions in the mimple or in mimples at high priority rates of three sats per V by low parties will get you in at one and woohoo 940 x a hashes per second is the hash rate of the Bitcoin network at
this time it is certainly more security than I need from yesterday's episode of Bitcoin and entitled face invaders which I thought was a really good name haha ha ha ha anyway uh uh whoo Nick dose wow brother it's the magic number and the palindrome boost 33,333 sats from nick dose says thank you for bringing us the Bitcoin news even when you're going through nicotine withdrawal yeah no shit it's actually a little bit better as of today not much but it's definitely better i in pc with a fat row of ducks 22 22 sats says good luck kidding quitting nicotine it's a tough one yeah yeah it is dude I thought I thought not having any alcohol was gonna be bad fuck that was a piece of cake compared to this one holy smokes I am I am I have a newfound
respect for how powerful nicotine is as a drug especially for something that doesn't really you know it's all you smoke a cigarette and go woohoo this party you know it's not like that yet it is one of the most addictive drugs I've ever run across in my life and I've been smoking since I was like 17 and then I quit in my late 20s because I got like bronchitis real bad and picked up vaping and been vaping ever since actually now I guess I was in my mid to late 30s and I quit smoking and then I went to vaping about three months after that and I've been vaping ever since and I just didn't realize how addictive nicotine really was wow I mean it's it's a powerful powerful chemistry read with 333 says thank you sir no thank you nick dose with another 271 sats says cheers permanent with 210 says I am so glad I finally found my source for lean feeder pig prices
nocturne gang with her customary 101 palindrome boost says thank you sir no thank you that's the weather report welcome to part two of the news that you can use where 67,000 more treasure customers have been exposed as data breach widens Stefan Graves from decrypt writing this one another 67,000 treasure customers have had their names email addresses phone numbers home addresses and ordered numbers exposed in the breach at shipping provider shipmunk according to the hardware wallet maker all of them are in the united states and all of them placed orders between November 2019 and 20 August of 2021 making some of the exposed records close to seven years old shipmunk passed on the findings two days ago treasure repeatedly asked for and received written confirmation
that those records had been deleted in line with its contract and data policy and said it was disappointed to learn that they had not been let's pause just to get a grip on the stupidity here wow we trusted you now we trusted you actually this is beyond that this is actually functional breach of contract and treasure in fact can sue the living daylights out of shipmunk as to whether they win i don't know but they got standing because this is a fundamental breach of contract if that data policy was written into the contract provided by shipmunk to treasure and both parties agreed on hey after you know a certain amount of time this shit gets deleted right right if that's written in the contract and this is beyond the parameters of the contract in functional breach of contract has occurred and treasure has a claim against shipmunk it's that easy guys so we'll see if
treasure says i if treasure says that they've had enough of this bullshit and they sue the living crap out of shipmunk which they should and i hope that they win you know this is the only way to actually you know have some kind of credibility with what's left of your well with your customer base because this is crap this is absolute crap that they've lit or rather that shipmunk is basically just disregarded any kind of trust structure whatsoever and said we're going to do whatever the hell we want to do this is part of living in the big tent watching the clown show inside the dumpster fire for your entertainment continuing when it disclosed the breach in august the company attributed its limited scope to a 90 day deletion policy it said that it had negotiated into its fulfillment partners terms that claim now looks considerably weaker the count has gone from 13,689
to roughly 80,700 i don't know exactly is that the amount of people i guess yeah i guess so i guess if you add 13,000 to 62 you get 80 whatever they should the writing should be better anyway treasure zone systems were not breached and devices private keys and wallet backups are untouched this is nothing to do with with your bitcoin this has everything to do with whether or not you bought something from treasure okay the danger is that the records identify confirmed hardware wallet owners at specific front doors alongside fake emails calls and letters treasure warned affected customers about risks to their physical security and repeated that a wallet backup should never be shared nor typed into a website owners of both treasurer and rival hardware wallet ledger were already receiving forged letters in february printed with holograms and QR codes and forged executive signatures demanding they activate a fictitious security check or lose access to their
wallets at the time cybercrime consultant david seyon wait what hold on david seyon beck told to crypt that a letter carrying a name in home address signals we can locate and that stolen data stays useful for years because people rarely move or change their numbers the intrusion phase traces to a critical sql injection flaw in the analytics tool meta based and they go on to talk about that so here's what here's what it looks like we know the agreement between treasurer and shipmunk or whatever it was described a 90 day hold period on customer data after which it should be deleted we're looking at customer data that seven years old so if if the 90 day hold period was an agreed upon structure inside the contract with shipmunk and treasurer then treasurer has a claim
and has standing to sue the living daylights out of shipmunk and if they don't I don't know what's wrong with them because they need to shore up the trust in their customer base that they're going to do something about this kind of activity they're going to do something about their third party vendors not respecting the groundwork of the contract that they both agreed to that's why we have contracts so we don't really have to trust each other that's one of the ways that we don't have to trust each other is that we make an agreement and we put it on paper and we both sign off on the parameters of that agreement and it looks like shipmunk just did not give a shit and treasurer as a hardware wallet manufacturer is left out into the wind to twist however that's not happening with the hardware wallet manufacturer that I use which would be bit boxed yeah I've got a bit box 0 to Nova and it really helped me in the pinch when I needed to move all my Bitcoin from one hardware
signing device to another one because when the cold card security news broke I used the bit box 0 to Nova to intake my ability to sign off on Bitcoin transactions bit boxes Swiss made it works with iPhone Android Mac Windows and Linux and builds wallet entropy from five independent sources including two hardware random number generators it's firmware is open source it's firmware is reproducible and bit box has been transparent about finding and patching security issues as well if you're protecting generational wealth and you need to do your homework start at bitbox dot Swiss that's bit box dot Swiss and use Bitcoin and for a 5% discount it also lets the guys over at bit box know that I made a sale for them here on the Bitcoin and podcast go to bitbox dot Swiss use code Bitcoin and you get 5% off burning sanders pushes bill to ban
advanced AI development Jason Nelson writing for decrypt senator bunny sanders and representative Greg casser from Texas announced legislation Thursday to permanently ban artificial superintelligence temporarily halt advanced AI development with oh get this prison sentences of up to 20 years for violations oh birdie that's just not going to work the ban artificial superintelligence act basa would suspend advanced AI development until a new federal agency sets safety standards and procedures for reviewing AI models sanders accused major AI companies of developing technology that they do not fully understand and cannot reliably control quote that's why I'm introducing legislation to immediately pause the development of increasingly powerful AI and ban the creation
of systems that humanity cannot fully control at home and around the world in quote sander said in a press release i'm so glad the united states can tell french companies what AI they can build and what they can that's just nice the proposal to find superintelligence as AI that matches or sewer surpasses human abilities across many tasks or can undermine human control including by overthrowing the u.s. government dude we got two 300 million citizens in the united states that pretty much don't like the federal government and even we haven't overthrown their ass and yet all of a sudden here comes AI oh it can do it sure oh yeah that that'll work a new cabinet level agency would be created to monitor advanced models supervise the removal of dangerous capabilities and oversee the destruction of prohibited systems an artificial intelligence advisory board
would provide scientific and technical advice talk about an oxymoron companies that break or a vague the restrictions could face what sanders in case are called the corporate death penalty the news comes as open AI unveiled gpt6 astra which we're we're going to get to here in a second uh... yeah that they're gonna go into the astra news and i've got a whole story about that so let's just talk about the the sheer fucking hubris of bernie sanders in this idiot from texas i hate the fact that i'm from texas i was born in west texas i'm a texan through and through and i've got to share my texan heritage with this idiot Greg caseer who literally thinks that they're going to be able to permanently ban artificial super intelligence be able to enact prison sentences on those companies who do not comply for 20 years right uh
let's see what else what else i say they do uh something about a corporate death penalty so i guess that means that they can scuttle your business because you were found to be playing out of bounds or whatever and this whole issue of the banning the creation of systems that humanity cannot fully control at home and around the world first what do you mean by that what's the definition of a system that humanity cannot fully control what does that even mean there's no parameters about there's no nothing it's just this this garbage language that we have been accepting from people of the united states government especially at the legislative level for decades we don't demand explanations we don't demand okay we need to know i want items a through z of exactly how you think you're going to define humanity not fully controlling an ai system what exactly does that look
like how long does it last under what circumstances do you recognize said loss of control and what is the definition of gaining that control back and every point in between and all we get from Sanders and crew is well we're going to ban increasingly powerful ai and and the systems that humanity cannot fully control but we're not only going to do it here in the us we're going to do it in england in india and russia and china yes china is going to listen to us because we demanded i'm burning Sanders i drive a mclaran which cost two hundred fifty thousand dollars i've got three fucking homes and yet i'm a socialist and you should be two and yet here we go we're going to tell china exactly how they're going to act bullshit this is bullshit legislation from bullshit people that are clearly not serious about anything and bernie sander this is what's so sad i think he thinks
he's serious yet i cannot take any of this seriously it is not that i don't want a ban it's not that i do want a ban that's beside the point there's there's no structure here this is just this is nothing this is a grown man handing you a pile of shit and and thinking himself that it's not shit this is a gourmet french meal and you're going to enjoy it i don't understand why you're looking at it cross-eyed this is what i'm giving you it's beautiful it's not beautiful burn it this is crap but he may have a point as to why he's so terrified that he will allow his mouth to run faster than his legs do open a i says it's new asteris a i can build attacks without human help welcome to the party pal charra malla writing this one for coin desk
mm-hmm baby baby open a i says it's upcoming asteris model can find previously unknown software flaws and turn them into working attacks without a human guiding each step crossing a cyber security threshold that until recently belonged largely to expert hacking teams i need to pause because i want i want you to notice the language here of this first paragraph which is essentially one sentence okay first of all think to yourself after what i just read you where do you think i'm going with this what do you think i'm going to attack in this sentence the word attack why are we going to the negative side immediately why are we throwing negativity into the face of whoever reads this story is it impossible that it could have also been said this way
mm-hmm example open a i says it's upcoming asteris model can find previously unknown software flaws and turn them into working fixes without humans guiding each step crossing a cyber security threshold that until recently belonged largely to expert hacking teams why did we go directly into all your shits in danger it is it the fact that this particular model does not have the capacity or the option to fix what it finds is it only able to attack and build attacks for the vulnerabilities that it finds is is this where we live we got to be very careful with what language we're ingesting because words ladies and gentlemen it's they call it spelling for a reason and i i i'm gonna i'm sorry i got to get off onto the astral plane here
magic is real and if you don't believe me then look at the universe and the big bang and tell me there's no magic Saturn came from nothing the sun came from nothing all every one of us came from nothing there was absolutely nothing in the universe and then all of a sudden lit there be light and yet we still refuse to believe in magic and because we refuse to believe in magic we refuse to believe in something called spells now here's where i want to make absolutely certain you don't think i'm batshit crazy i do not believe that i can go buy a spell book and say a bunch of mumbo jumbo and cause somebody to fall in love with me no that's a love poem that's something that you write to a girl when you're in high school some are effective and some are not effective
like i can be a guy there's a lovely girl in like i don't know my junior year high school actually I'll take it to my senior year of high school there was this beautiful chick that i used to look at every once in a while in english class her name was kerry she was beautiful i mean this girl was like drop dead gorgeous and she was nice she wasn't she wasn't like you know when she was very popular but she wasn't she didn't have that popular girl attitude she was just really nice and she looked lovely and i was kind of had a crush on her now i had two options i could write her like a love poem or i could write her a song and sing it to her which is kind of no it sounds gay and all that shit but people do this this is like history is replete with men writing love poems and shit like that to girls so it's the there's words involved there's language involved and you you you write your heart out you put your you try your best to select words and put them in an order that represents best what you're feeling in your heart and in your
soul and then and then in in in almost the most vulnerable position that you can ever be in you give this piece of paper to this woman and she reads it if you did it wrong and it sounds dumb as hell she might actually laugh at your ass or at least say all that's nice but if you do it right if the spell written on that piece of paper in the form of a love poem is done very very well she might actually look at you and go holy shit and then something about her heart changes when she's looking at maybe it's because she recognized that you spilled your guts maybe she recognized that you're being vulnerable i don't know maybe this combination of all that shit and more but what i do know is that the words on the page mean something it is a spell it's not in a magic book i don't have to wear a cone shaped hat and hold a stupid magic wand to do this all i have to
do is write things down words matter their order matters what kinds of word in what kinds of order matters they are effective they do things and when we constantly write shit that automatically goes to the negative because we've just trained that way now that we've been in the circus tent for so long that we start shit with turn them into working attacks without human guiding each step what does that spell do to mentality of humans alongside all the other spells that we read or listen to on a daily basis if you don't think magic occurs if you don't think it exists think again continuing it is the first model open a i as classified as having critical oh this is helps critical cyber capabilities under its preparedness framework the firm wrote in a Thursday or rather
Tuesday post to qualify a model must be able to find previously unknown software flaws known as zero days and develop working exploits for them across hardened real world systems without any human intervention or devise and execute an attack from little more than a high level goal let me pause again why attack why develop an exploit why isn't the first thing to develop a potential fix and alert the people that need to know how to implement that fix that it can do it itself why are we spelling it this way why are we spelling it into the negative into exploits into people are going to lose their shit we need to be very proactive as to what we allow to enter our ears and if it enters our ears no matter what we want we've got to be able to process this shit effectively
do not let only exploit only negativity come through replace those words because i guarantee you this model will probably be able to say hey dude i found a vulnerability i've constructed an exploit so that i can also find the rectification of that exploit and we're going to implement the fix this is important man spelling is important in testing the astramodel scored 100% on a benchmark for developing exploits from known vulnerabilities and found to previously unknown flaws while building an exploit chain on a separate internal test oh good for you it also broke out of a hardened browser sandbox and executed commands on the host computer while separately finding and combining multiple flaws in an operating system to gain root access according to open AI
the company has since delayed parts of astra's development while adding safeguards and plans to initially restrict its most advanced cybersecurity abilities to selected testers that capability is particularly relevant to crypto where a software flaw can be converted into money within minutes coin desk reported in June that increasingly capable AI models could compress the work of searching code finding misconfigurations and assembling attacks from days or weeks into machine speed operations at the time security researcher said the bigger change was not necessarily a new class of hack but how quickly existing weaknesses could be found and exploited the advance follows other signs that frontier models are moving beyond answering questions and writing code and throttics clawed fable five helps solve an 87 year old mathematics problem in July as coin desk reported there's not a single word in this article that is not negative and i just i i i fail
to find myself in a situation where i have to believe that astra only has a one single-minded purpose and that is to exploit vulnerabilities instead of also being able to fix those vulnerabilities so therefore this is more about charra mallowa having a negative view on the universe than anything else did charra did this is who wrote this article this article is nothing but negative it was written by charra mallowa it was edited by om car godball so therefore both of them both of them are at fault for not looking any deeper to find out do they have to use nothing but negative language and i'm not talking lie to your ass i just don't think that it's actually the truth that astra is only built to exploit vulnerabilities that it finds without human intervention i don't think that that's true at all i think that is a human construction that is designed by people
that are operating in a faulty universe and faulty only in so far that we live under a big big top watching a dumpster fire with a clown show inside of it in the middle of a three-ring circus and we bid here for so long that everything is bad and that nothing is good ever you know ever notice that like you know on like slow news news days or news weeks in midland where i where i grew up as a kid there would be reports in the midland reporter telegram that were basically good news like oh the fireman rescued a kiddie from a tree no i'm serious this is i grew up with these things yes there was bad news too but there was also like neutral news you know information that you probably would just want to know and then there was also like feel good stories because they happened they were real you know like they were pitched like front
page midland reporter telegram nothing in the world going on to the point that a picture of three kids playing in a playground me being one of them was front page news and a little story written about how we were playing in a playground that was a neighborhood playground and how nice it was to have neighborhoods that had public parks and all that shit now you don't get that anymore no no no no what you get is chara remolla and on car godball at a coin desk telling you be afraid be very very afraid it's really up to us as to whether or not we're going to ingest these spells and while you're at it learn to make spells of your own start writing that's the best way to build a spell book right have a great weekend i'll see you on the other side this has been big coin and and i'm your host ava Bennett i hope you enjoyed today's episode and hope to see you again real soon
have a great day well
