09/18/2026 - How picky is too picky when you're a grown adult? On this episode of Extra Funny, Lindsay tells TJ and Riggins about her husband’s incredibly selective eating habits and all the foods he absolutely refuses to eat. Some of his food dislikes are understandable, while others have TJ and Riggins wondering how a grown man can have such a long list of things he won't touch! TJ, Riggins, and Lindsay break down the foods he avoids, the reasons behind some of his biggest food aversions, and whether picky eating is something you ever really outgrow. If you live with a picky eater, you’ll probably recognize a few of these habits, and you may even have your own list of foods that are completely off-limits!

This is Matt Rodgers from Lost Cultures, that's with Matt Rodgers and Bowen Yang. This is Bowen Yang from Lost Cultures, that's Matt Rodgers and Bowen Yang. You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, wait, that's the reaction. A lot of people are having when they first try QB Mayo. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake. Because this mayo is different. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. QB only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, and almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers, some fans even swear by dipping pizza crust in it. And once you notice it, you start seeing it everywhere.

Chefs use it, restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it. Never try it, grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're out the store. Put it on just about anything, then you'll understand. QB, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Hi, I'm Cindy Crawford and I'm the founder of Meaningful Beauty. All right. Hey, I don't know if I've ever told you all this. I might think it's neat, but I don't know. You know, I don't have a close relationship where I'm in contact with or seeing and all of that anybody that I grew up with back in Winfield, Louisiana. Now, there are good friends that I have that if I saw them, I'd be so thrilled to see them and talk to them. And there's basically only one, though, that if I'm around, I make an effort to actually go see. And that's my friend Shannon that I grew up with my best friend. But I have another friend that I talked to occasionally. And he and I were really close when we were little. And by the time we got up in middle school, high school, we would spend the night each other's houses when we were little and all that.

And we go fishing. He loved the fish. And so we would always find a pond somewhere out. He lives in the country and we fish. And his name is Brian. And we were in kindergarten all the way through high school, graduated together. And his birthday was always the week before mine. And at school and elementary school, you know when everybody's birthday is because they make a big deal out of it. Yeah. And if it's your birthday, you get to be the line leader. It's a lot of room and all that kind of stuff. And so his birthday is September 7th, mine's the 16th. And we talked to each other twice a year. We text on his birthday and then mine. It's cool. Yeah. What's that? Are you guys the same age? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Well, he's older. Yeah. A week older. Right. Right. Is that make you tear up? No. No.

Thank you. But let's see. Texting me the other day on my birthday. And just it's kind of funny. He knows about half of what I like. He goes, happy birthday, brother. Enjoy a good cigar. Okay. Yeah. And a nice bourbon this evening. Maybe a great steak as well. Two out of three, eight, mad. Yeah. But it just, I mean, I want, this is, this sounds bad, but I want to like bourbon so much. Yeah. Because it, I mean, you look at it and go, surely that tastes like caramel. It looks like caramel. Every time. And as much as, I mean, people constantly talk about how great bourbon is with cigars. Yes. And I just, I've tried it.

Now, are they drinking it with just, you know, room temperature? They put it on ice. I don't know because that water it down. Some people, they have a friend that like scotch. But he likes it on ice because as the ice melts, it dilutes the scotch a little bit. Which to me would be defeating the purpose. Yeah. The scotch is barcin' bourbon though, right? Mm-hmm. I think so. So you watched Yellowstone, right? Yeah. But for most of the season, yeah. When every time, I mean, in every episode, somebody was pourin' a bourbon that was warm out of like a decanter thing. And drinking it and I wanted it so bad, right then. Yeah. I went through that with the show The Ranch. Yeah. With the Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott. They were always drinking bourbon and it looks so good. And I just wonder though if I tried it and it's like forced myself to drink some,

you know, on a regular basis that I would acquire a taste the way you do beer. Yeah. But then again, do I really want that? No. In my life. I've got enough vices while I add another one. Yeah. Like you. Now I'm looking at that. Oh man, how much am I spending in tea? Well, right. My D budget is for the roof right now. M-T taxes. Yeah. The guards. But there is something so attractive. Sorry, Lindsey. But like you were saying, pouring it out of that decanter when you see it in TV movies, really. That looks amazing. I want that in that crystal decanter to have in my officer in my house somewhere. It looks great. Have you ever met someone that really likes it though? Oh, yeah. Oh, you have. Because Kyle would seem like he would like it maybe. I don't know. I guess I just hate it. Yeah. But then again, we need to talk about Kyle's diet. Well, you know, I can't imagine. From what you've told me that he's the only things that he'll eat and all that,

that I can't picture him like in bourbon. But we'll get into it in the next segment. Hang on. This is T.J. Riggins Extra Party. Hey, guys, it's Ashley Kinetti from the Ben and Ashley. I almost have his podcast. My friend said this one's and I have adopted it as my own. She goes, I'm not a crunchy mom, but I'm a crispy mom. And I'm like, that is me too. All right. We've been talking a lot about this uh... This trip that Lindsay's got coming up, we're just going to Louisiana for the first time. Bitch I'm from Louisiana. Bitch I'm from Louisiana. Bitch I'm from Louisiana. Is that all he says in the whole time? No, he does, he does wrap it in all. But he says that for a long time before he gets to the other stuff. But anyway, um... So we've been talking about all the stuff that she, you know, may want to experience in New Orleans and all this. But what is it that anybody who's going to New Orleans, whether they've been a million times or whether they are going for the first time? Regan's what is it that they look forward to doing and that is going to be enjoyable about New Orleans? Eating. Exactly. Eating all the food. Exactly. Lindsay's husband Kyle is worried that he's not going to find anything that he likes because he's so picky. He doesn't eat seafood at all, right?

No. Winnery, whenever you're done, I'm going to tap into this. Yeah, go ahead. Because this is going to blow your mind. Okay. Doesn't eat seafood. Okay. But eats sushi, which is seafood. Yeah. Okay. So what kind of sushi rolls does he eat? Everything I mean spicy tuna. I mean, it's raw stuff then. So the raw stuff then, yeah. You don't like the hot flamber? Would he eat a shrimp tempura roll? Yeah. Well, then that doesn't make sense. You're right. Doesn't eat popcorn shrimp. Let's just say fried shrimp or fried fish or baked fish or no seafood. Nothing. Okay. That's one weird thing. Another weird thing. He says like, I don't like tomatoes. But at a restaurant, he'll be ordering a sandwich and I'll say,

oh, do you want to tell her no tomatoes? Like, I'm just trying to. He's like, oh no, no, I like it on that. I'm like, oh. So it's why it's embarrassing. And I'll just say we were married maybe a year. We went to dinner with his sit-both sisters and husbands. And we were just having a night. I did that. I said, oh, do you want to tell her no tomatoes? No, I like tomato on that. I was like, okay. And I look at him and I'm like, Kyle, you don't like tomatoes. He's like, but I do on that. I'm like, but they discussed you. Like, if ever I'm eating a tomato or whatever, he's like, ew, ew, like he'll say in the hurt his sister said, do you even know each other? Like she'll like Joe. And I'm like, I swear I know him. He's just weird. That is weird. I'd be like, let me like, because I hate raw onions. And if I ordered some burger and they had raw onions on it,

and I like them on this. Yeah. But in the other time, I gag at the thought of biting down on a raw onion. Yeah, that doesn't make sense. But here's the thing. New Orleans does have stuff other than seafood. Like, when you all go, if you all go to Acme Oyster House, like I told you to go get a crawfish poboi there, tell them to get the roast beef poboi. To find a roast because those are the thing. Roast beef pobois. He does. This is okay. Next bit that's weird. He loves meat. He loves beef like meat potatoes, you know, grub in the Midwest. Doesn't like certain types of like, let's say, a beef pot roast, let's say you're like, like my mom makes a, I guess you call it a pot roast. It would be stringy to him. Does that make sense? Like, yeah, he doesn't, he doesn't like cuts of meat that,

that shred. That shred. He doesn't like shredded beef, but he loves beef. Right. Well, these roast beef pobois are sliced, like, deli meat. We'll see. And then it's also a sandwich called a mufalata that doesn't have seafood on it. It's a ham and all kinds of stuff. And it's about, it's round and it's about that big. It's got olives on it. I'm sure you don't need olives, but you can hold that. Also, deli meat, he won't eat like a, say, a sub, like a single. He wants it always hot. Yeah, I can get that. But I mean, I will eat a cold sandwich. He will. The man is peculiar with his food. Yeah, that is. And he grew up a certain what like, his mom always says, I blame myself. And I know I'm a mother. You marry. Yeah. Because he never ate vegetables because they weren't like offered. And it wasn't. That's why it's so important to offer different foods when

they're young. Because you know, through high school, that's what he knew certain things. And that was it. Yeah, I mean, but. Yeah, I don't blame it. I mean, you're an adult. 43 years old. Well, he even tried it or is he's like, mm-hmm. Like, if you try to give him, because if you order when you go to New Orleans, if you get a, um, a crawfish fed a chini out for a dough, right, if you order that and you try to get him to try it, he won't even try it. And it's not. It's not like, oh, no, no, it's not like, braddy because I couldn't stay. I wouldn't marry that. He's just like, no, I'm good. I got a lot of food. I don't want that taste with this taste. Like, I'm good. He'll make it nonchalant, but really, he's probably like, roo. Yeah. So he would probably go to New Orleans and. Um, eat cheeseburgers more than anything else. Just so he's like, I can't find anything else on the menu here. Yeah. What makes me frustrated is that he eats so poorly.

I mean, cheeseburgers and picture, like the ultimate 12 year old chicken tenders. And he stays in shape. And it's, but not even not even the shape thing that bothers me. Because I have health issues in my older day. His blood work comes back spectacular. His doctors like keep it up. I'm like, keep up what your chicken tenders with your ranch? Like, it's sturdy. Like Riggand said, those Midwesterners are sturdy people. That it pisses me off. It would piss me off too. I'd like you so. Yeah. Because, you know, we southerners are, are a more attractive people, but not as, not as sturdy when it comes to being able to deal with that. Like, maybe won't live as long, but. Yeah. Right. But we'll be more attractive in our years that we're on our. Yeah. He'll say, well, I a vegetable this week, I had a Caesar salad with my steak and potato. I'm like, like, that is version of a vegetable. You know, wow. It's wild. It's crazy. So I'm now I'm trying to think of what,

what he would be eating. And then we just have to, even the kids men use in New Orleans are having like small portions of gumbo and things like that. Well, that's why he said, well, he eat the chicken and sausage gumbo. It has no seafood in it. It's just smoke sausage. Usually like an undoy sausage. But he doesn't like, no, you see, he doesn't like spicy does he? He loves spicy. He does his dad. Okay, well then he'll he'll like that if he smoked sausage, rice and chicken. Yeah, I think he would. Yeah. That's why he last night we were getting in bed and he was like, you just, I said, TJ's giving me some places to go. Well, you got to ask TJ if they have stuff other than seafood. Because we got to pick some places that I can actually eat. And I'm like, yeah, I mean, you'll be able to find wings and all of that kind of stuff. It's steak. You can find steak a lot. Yeah. You know, I was telling them earlier that a lot of people don't know this. This is for John and Joan Q.

Listener, the modern day steakhouse, like you see, you know, like the palm and Mortons and those types of places, that roots Chris, that was created in New Orleans. A lot of people think Texas, but New Orleans with the Crescent City Steakhouse, it was the first of its kind. So then roots Chris came along. And that's a New Orleans company. Oh, yeah. It was that was created there. Interesting. So they're going to have options. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm getting the crawfish. Yeah, I do need to go to a place though, like I was saying, that'll play cage of music while you're eating and stuff. Dancing and other things. Okay, I'm excited. Now he can probably order some fries and chicken tenders there. Yeah. I'm actually more excited for the food, obviously. Then back in the day, I would have been like the party. But now I just want to eat everything I can that I can't eat here. Yeah. Which would be everything you're going to find there.

This is Boan Yang from Los Cultures. It's Matt Rogers and Boan Yang. You know when people try a new food and suddenly, it's like, wait. That's the reaction.

Never try it. Grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're at the store. Put it on just about anything, then you'll understand. QB, the original Japanese mayonnaise. Hi, this is Grant from Doods on Doods. I'm here to tell you about protecting your end zone with wet, extra-large, flushable dude wipes. Unlike dry wiping with toilet paper, dude wipes clear instead of smear, wetter, cleans better. Goodbye, dingleberries. Goodbye, itch, and irritation. Plus, if you take grunk-sized grumpies, or as I like to call them, grunkies, baby wipes won't do. You need extra big dude wipes to handle the job. So don't fumble the ball with toilet paper. Stop being an a-hole to your be-hole

and start using dude wipes, available on Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dude wipes, best clean, pants down. Hey guys, it's Ashley Kinetti from the Ben and Ashley, I almost have this podcast. My friend said this one's and I have adopted it as my own. She goes, I'm not a crunchy mom, but I'm a crispy mom. And I'm like, that is me too. Like, of course we're gonna have our junk food days, but primarily when we're eating inside the house, I am very particular about what I buy and make for my kids, because sometimes, you know, like for example, they're gonna eat chicken nuggets, right? They're gonna eat macaroni and cheese, but I'm trying to find the best possible versions of those. And in order to do that, I use this really great app when I'm grocery shopping. It's called Wise Code. And it's basically an ultra-process food detector. All you do is scan a product to instantly see if it's ultra-processed.

They go beyond the label. You're able to view nutrition quality and health quality. It makes grocery shopping easy. It helps you make more informed decisions for your family. It's available on the app store. I love, love, love it. It is exactly what a crispy mom needs. You can download Wise Code, the ultra-process food detector on the app store today. It's 2026.
