Yeah, media group. Hey everybody, Ronin has unfiltered real raw and relevant. You know what we hadn't done in a long time? Yes. Ron, we hadn't given an update on John G. You remember John G? We, you know, our staff, yeah. Remember our production. Yeah, who we were trying to get him a girlfriend. We accomplished that. Well, he got a girlfriend and not just a girlfriend. I think they're talking about getting married. So listen, if you need your God-given spouse to be revealed, you need it. It is. Is that redemption? You need to come to society, too, for, too. Right? And I mean, what better place to find a godly spouse?

I feel like, uh, Ronin, what's wrong? I told you, when I came in, sat down. Because you ate pizza. Yes. Tell them why that's an effect to me like that. Because you're so disciplined. And you only eat the carnivore things. The meat. Like I'm free. I went bought my thalais and prep my real clean. Like yesterday, she said, my meatmumps. And they came in the day and said it was a no-carb pizza with cauliflower. Collie flour. Collie flour. Collie flour. And I mean, pizza is like an ultimate, no, no. Yes. So long and short of it, I went in there and I said, okay, no-carb pizza. I can do that on the carnivore diet. And I ate four or five pieces. I mean, I mean, I feel like, I feel like I'm going to lay down on the floor. You need to burn. No, just feel the way. I feel like I got to break in my stomach. You can tell I have not been eating that way. Because it's still cheese and fat and grease and everything all over.

I'm really making it. Yeah. One day you go make it. Oh. Well, even some of the other guys were like, yeah, I'm not doing pizza for much, no more. I do. I'm not kidding. I can feel it. When you eat really, really clean. When you eat really, really clean. And then the moment you don't, it affects you. You can tell it when you don't. And I just feel it right now. It's basically about like just like mild indigestion. You need a toms. Mild indigestion. You need a toms. And I could feel it a little bit when I was eating it, but I kept on because my favorite food is pizza. And I had one of so long. So I'm like, okay, here's a good way to eat cauliflower and get around the bad part, but it caught it with me. It did. Well, you haven't been on here in a long time. I'm aware everybody's glad to have you back. Why am I the favorite? They said the ratings go down when you're not on.

You're kidding. What they told me. Oh. They said the ratings go down when you're not on. So it means they quit watching. When they tune in and don't see me. They don't see you. They go do something else because they say, Ron's not fine by himself. That's pretty much the truth. They say, Ron's not fine by himself. I'm like real fine by yourself. No. Are you not? I had everybody in there in their life in a minute ago. But you were by yourself. But I was doing it by myself. The funny things I was doing. Remember they tell me about how I do it? And don't even crack a smile and don't move my face. Ron, tell him about your black eye. I don't know. I have no knowledge. I don't know where it came from. I'm sitting there yesterday. And some of y'all may have seen her of her name. Amy is my assistant. And she's like, I want to know if she's like, why is your eye black? I don't know. I don't know. She's talking about like, I walked yesterday. I said, what do you mean? I've got up at four o'clock.

Blue in from South Carolina to California. Got here at 1130 walked into meetings. And I turned just looked at Ron. I'm like, you still sleep? What is wrong with you? Yeah, close this out. Close it. Don't squint. I mean, it looks like purple. Make up. I don't know. I didn't know it. And she said, why is your eye? What happened to your eye? And I'm like, nothing's happened to my eye. I have no idea what my eyes were like. I have no clothes. That is the craziest thing I've ever heard in my life. One lady said like, you busted the way it's a perfect circle. She looks like you busted blood vessel. She said, you lift weights for myself. I lift weights almost every day. And I've never done that. I have no idea why I'm something's happening up there though. Yeah, well, something is. Anyway, you got indigestion. And you get a black eye. I got a black eye. And don't even know how. Anyhow. So anyway, it's got my days got to get better. Yeah. It's got to get better. Let's do something.

We left you guys hanging hope here again by necessity. She just decided not to be on the podcast. But the thing with her mom and dad, it's actually keeping us on two separate coasts for a whole lot of this entire year. And so we want to bring you what you signed up for, which is Ron and Hope unfiltered. But we're trying to manage. We're trying to manage all of our responsibilities, all of our media responsibilities. But the fact is we have families. My daddy has been in the hospital since August 16th. And got moved again today. Yeah, and he got moved today. Finally out of the hospital to a rehab. So we shall see. They said he could go to the rehab if his behavior stabilized. He's not going to help me out. He's not been a good boy. He's been a bad boy. And I said, daddy, have you been bad?

He said, don't poke the bear. Don't poke the bear, it's all he said. He nobody's poking him. I think they're having to deal with it. He said, I fought back. Sure did. He said, cause it's coming in here to give me a shot in my leg. He said, not fought back. No, he said one day he's going to cut his throat. Yeah, he said, one day. That's why he got thrown out the first rehab. It's because he said, ten of them came in there and was going to cut his throat. And then he said he worked 102 hours and was waiting for his overtime. He did. He made me add up what his check would be. If he made $15 an hour and he worked 102 hours and he said somebody needs to go get my check. Anyway, or daddy, 83. He's 83. He's got. He's got a stroke. He's got a stroke and he's got dementia. But it has been a funny situation. But it's kept me on my toes. I want nobody to take him because he threatens people and he gets I rate and medicated.

And so now when the institutions read that he's had been medicated and restrained and all that, they don't take you. Yeah, they like we. So let's try and keep our fingers crossed that he gets to stay at this one. It's like a bad little kid getting thrown out of daycare. Yeah, that's the way to put it. Yeah. But when we left you guys, we left you with we were going through the 35th, 35th anniversary stuff and we did the 90s. And then you were here, but me and Jonathan talked about the 2000s. And I actually, when I got the token to him, I started remembering all of the stuff. And Jonathan is the one who now, when I'm preaching on the East Coast, he's the one who stands in full mail in the West Coast. He's our Spanish pastor doing a phenomenal job. And you have one, maybe a couple of times a year, you see him on here on podcast with me. And, but we have not talked about anything past 2010. Now we've culminated all of our 35th anniversary celebration. And just let's take 30 seconds here.

That was very moving. Very meaningful. If you guys, if some of you, I think are like podcasts, viewers only and maybe you don't get into redemption services, you need to go watch that one. It was very well done. It was very well orchestrated. It had about 14 minutes of video footage in there mixed in with our worship service, which was all on the theme of gratitude. And it just, when you go back through the years and we tried to pick out the really high moments, these were, in other words, when I say high moments, these were not like a good service, but like these were, this was the moment something changed. Yeah. Something shifted, something changed, a break through. We tried to go back and when you go back and view them, I saw people around me, like on West Coast, have not been a part of that 35 year history. And I saw people around me with like, with tears running out of their face because they're like, man, this thing has got a rich, rich heritage to it.

And now I get to be a part of it. And then we went back to Greenville. And of course, that's where it all started. And so it was very meaningful. And then we had a lot of people that had seen it a long time, come back, former staff members and other things who have moved on with life, moved on with God, but they came back and celebrated with us. And I want to tell you, I just don't know much I would have changed about it. It was good. It was good. It was heartfelt. It was meaningful. And the part about my dad, that my sister was sitting beside me, she had never seen that clip. And she knew it. And yeah, that clip of my dad came up and boy, I looked at her and she was tore up. And I had actually forgotten that clip. I remember dad passing his coat and his mantle, but I forget about him saying, big run, little run. And for those of you wondering what that means, my dad was five foot five and a half. I was six foot two and I was in the ninth grade in high school. So I always looked, my mom's five, six days, five, five and a half.

And I was always six to it. And I was a little weird. But they always called you little run. But I was little run. My dad's name's Ron. I'm Ron. They called him big run and little run. And that's all I remember all growing up was big run and little run. But on a day during the dedication of the building, the large building we built in Gringel, he did a dedication thing. He put it through his coat on me and he said, from this point forward. You are big run. He said, you are big run. But that's, I had forgotten about it. I had forgotten about that and sitting there watching it and reliving it just, you know. Special. Yeah. And for your daddy to be that humble of a man and then for me to have that kind of blessing was towed by that kind of man. It was really, really special. They highlighted moments with us. Let's talk about 2010 and up. We got about 20, 25 minutes. These were the Bumpy years. 2010. And we've talked about this. 11, 12, 13. The one I was on last time we talked about me coming back.

We did so that would be 14. So we ended up at 14. And 2014 is when, you know, hope had been. At living quarters. In ministry and just had a revolutionary life experience changing. And then that began the rebuilding of us, the rebuilding, I guess. You know, of our lives in front of the people. Everything had to be rebuilt. That's when we started rebuilding it. And I think the thing about that is kudos to redemption again. I do think we handled it right. I do think we were repentant. I think we were sorrowful. We had godly sorrow. We shut down everything. We have no right to be doing these things now. These things have to be earned. And we gave the people updates on our progress and what we were going through. And hope we lost very few people.

I don't know that many ministries in America can say they walk through what we walked through. And the church didn't get half cleaned out. And redemption people never did that. That's why I told them when I was in Greenville. And you remember I said, you guys literally, the cleaners go through everything. Yeah. I mean, we were kids. They watched us grow up. They saw us, you know, come after our first pregnancy test. And now so I mean, they saw, they saw every child be born. They saw everything. And they helped raise our children. I told them, I said, when our first one, Chase, I said it took a village. It took a village. It took a village. He was raised by the church. But I mean, they literally... They did him tons of kids. Yeah, they did him. And sent him home with us. And he'd be jacked out of his mind by the time we got him home. But it is, most people won't let you do that.

They want you to be grown. If to lead me, you need to already be there. And these people didn't. They went on the journey with us. And they watched me make mistakes. They heard me apologize for them. I was always good about owning things. I was like, you know what? I screwed that up. Hanging there with me. I'll do better next time, you know? And so that was really satisfying to me. But now by the time 2014 got here, our world was big. We had a big world. What do you remember from 14 to 18? Because 18 was a monumental change. I just remember for me personally. Remember rebuilding. Yeah, for me personally, I think I had a whole new outlook on what? What? Ministry. Really in a healthy way was going to look like for us and for me. And I remember trying to get to know people again.

And to be intentional about loving people, you know, the way that we started out loving people. I loved being in the four year with people. I think we tried to get rid of some of the glitz and celebrityism. And we never wanted that. Right. It just kind of slid into it. It happened. We didn't like it. I think it was just a really healthy time for all, for the ministry as a whole. Not just us. It was peaceful. Yeah, it was very peaceful. It was very solid. It was big, but it was simple. Well, you know, real, real relevant. It was just me. Jesus is our peace. I'm not negating that. He's the rock of peace in every storm. But when you get down into natural things, you know, a woman is a man's peace. A woman is a man's calm. Supposed to be.

Yes, supposed to be. A man needs respect and a man needs the calm of a woman. I never forget, what's her name? She just spoke for us at transfer. Cheryl Brady. Cheryl Brady said that a woman, a good woman, is a sedative to her husband. And I remember when you struggled, we struggled. When you were in turmoil, we were, in other words, what's in you affects what's around you? And Denise. You guys first said, Yeah, and Denise Bob, right? Denise Boggs. You remember what she told me? She said, we call it up on the hill, because they were in the mountains. She said, the woman I'm going to send you. She said, when God gets through with her, the woman I'm going to send you, you've never met. You remember that freaked me out? I think she said that to comfort me, but it wigged me out a little bit, because I kind of liked that woman that I fell in love with.

That's why I fell in love with her. So when she said that, I know what that meant. I mean, was there a personality going to change? What does this mean? But it was a piece. We started taking her church on healing journeys, we implemented healing the heart and went for it hard. And that was a new sound to our church. True. And because everything was go. Yes. And this is stop and evaluate. Evaluate. Yes. Look in yourself. And really build right. And so we didn't just do that for us. We pulled that into the whole life of the church, which was pretty special. And we're still doing it today. We're still doing it today. We just got reports this Sunday, and we started our new cycle on that. And I remember the leaders were sending me reports of all the things that happened. And that was on East Coast and the one on West Coast, they had turned people away. Right.

Classes too big. So that was the time where we were like mid-40s, where a lot of people, their life falls apart. Our's did it share a falling, but by the grace of God, we were able to catch it. And the building blocks that help us put it back together on a sure foundation, we then said, we need to bring this to everybody because you know what? Maybe you can stop the train wreck instead of have to clean up after the train wreck. And so we've instituted a healing the heart ministry that's been going now ever since that time. So be what? 12, 13 years. 13 years. And so the 14 to 18 was just peaceful. I don't remember a lot of, there was a lot of very eventful positive and negative things up until then. After that, it was kind of, you know, just good. And then everybody knows in 18, we moved. 2018. And you know, let me take a minute.

We haven't told the public really what was going on. I preach for a pastor dick. 16. A couple of times. 16 and 17, I think. I didn't know him. I knew Michael Pits. And Michael Pits said, I got a friend in California, he wants you to do his conferences. He got a conference called Thunder in the Bay. Hope, we had no connections to California. Now a lot of people didn't believe that. I've heard people say we had something going on. I had no connections with California. We'd never been. No. You know, I'd flown through it. I think 25 years ago, I did a little pastor's conference at a hotel convention center in San Francisco. But I didn't know that. I was for your daddy. Yes, for my dad. I just didn't have no connections to California.

And certainly had no ambitions. I always had that, no ambitions outside of Greenville. I was happy. That's fine. It's our baby. But I went there. He was at retirement age. He was probably a little bit pastor at retirement age then. And I did. I did remember like, wow, man, this is a hugely populated area. There's just no churches out here. And I was like, I just remember going up there and I called you a lot. Bus place could explode. Remember that? Yeah, I did. I had no pull toward it. But I'm like, the potential is here for something unbelievable. That was it. Well, he called me to come back the next year. And in that time, yes, just would we take a trip out and just spend two or three days with him and said, tell you what you need to do. Flying to LA, get you a little convertible and go up the coast, what highway ones, what they call it. We want whatever it was. And he said and drive up there. We went Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara to Monterey and they met us. And we just spent a few days with him and I preached again.

But the whole time, those two years, he was texting me. I believe Ron Carpenter could blow California wide open. I believe you're not going to do something. I mean, he just, and I'm like, you were like, why is he texting me? Yeah, I mean, I was short. And I'm like, I'm not moving the cow. But he never, he never was overbearing, but he never went away. And I just get a text. I just get a text. And I remember coming to you and I'm like, you know, we're just blowing this thing off. I'm like, maybe we should pray. And we still didn't take it. I didn't. Maybe you did. Real serious. And the way we do on big life change things is we usually will pray separately then come back together. Am I, am I murmuring that right? And you kind of took it to the Lord and I took it to the Lord and we came back together. And both of us looked at each other and it was a, uh-oh. It was like, I think we first started saying, well, what if, how could we make it?

The word in me was how. Yeah. I started feeling a pull here, but here I had no idea how I would pull that off because redemption was a full time animal. And yeah, and I'm like, how could you pull that off? Would I do some things differently? Yes. Absolutely. Yes, I would. Greatest intentions felt like I was listening to God and trying to honor God, but, uh, you know, looking back would I've done some things differently? Yes. But long short, I mean a long lot of conversations, a lot of mentors, a lot of calling people that I had faith and trust in and submitting stuff to people to, you know, prophetic voices and everything and all the stuff to get coming back the same way. And so I think here's my fatal flaw in that. Not fatal.

That's not a good word. Here was my flaw in my thinking. I didn't think I could do both. I remember asking you, why can't we do both? And you want to know California needs too much more? Yeah, I knew. Well, I come out here and it did. It needed all hands on deck. It was not in a good place. It's big, but it didn't have a lot of big resources coming in to support the big. And the shape it was in it was structure and infrastructure was way different. And well, huge and the closer it would have to be a rebuild almost. And I just, you know, and in my mind, I'd like, I don't know how I could do it. I thought about it. But in my mind, I didn't know how I could do both. And so, you know, I need a great succession plan if we're feeling like we're supposed to spend this next season of our life apostolically blowing open a new area, a new region. And that's the way I've always looked at our life.

We're sent to go to difficult places and do something that's never been done. That's our life. That's a hard calling. It is. That's a hard calling. But the fact is that's where you and I seem to flourish. And honestly, that's where we seem to be happy. I thought redemption was in a great place. It was solid, money in the bank, unbelievable campus, thousands and thousands of people. And we put a succession plan in place. And for many reasons, we're not able to achieve what was in paper. We had a good plan. But we were not able to achieve it. And here's the irony. I'm doing both anyway. Right. But anyway. I'm doing both anyway. But to let people know how, you know, I think I looked at what Ron can do instead of what God could do. Boy, we learned a lesson. Yes. And having to go back and the only thing I can do is be transparent about things that I

would think maybe have been a mistake. I just, in my mind, I didn't think Ron could do it. And I can do, and Hillsong's was doing it. Hillsong's was Pastor in London and Sydney and New York at the same time. And I remember even talking to Stephen Fertig. He said, maybe you need to talk to Pastor's name. I can't think his name. Help me with names today. Brian Houston. He said, maybe you need to talk to Brian. I didn't know Brian. So I'll get you hooked up. He said, maybe that model. He said, I don't know anybody else would a model like that Ron. He said, but maybe you need to talk to him about how do you, you know, oceans away and countries away? How do you pastor like that? But I was convinced it couldn't be done. And it had to be kind of all or nothing approach. And then later on, because we weren't able to achieve the succession plan for all these amazing people. What's the year we went back to Greenville in 2001? 21. 21.

The year kind of at the end of COVID. The back in the COVID. And we went back and had a vision casting service. We had a lot of people should know service vision casting meeting. A lot of people showed up and I told them and you told them, this is what we can do. This is what we have. We're only one person. I can be one place at the time. But this is what we can do. And this is what we can commit to. If you want to be a part of it. And we did probably seven, eight hundred people right out of the gate were a part of it. That filtered down to five or six hundred as the two or three years in the convention center setting up and tearing down one on. And then we were finally able and this was so good. Two years ago. Two years ago. To help us church out two years ago and buy us a new campus. And the weekend of the 35th anniversary, we were almost at 3000. And so they just exploded when we bought that new campus. And so those that decade was eventful, but in a great way.

There were good things. So the past five years we've been going back and forth. That's what our last five years has been going back and forth. California and Greenville. And it's so busy and it can be so hectic, but it is so good and so rewarding. It just feels like God just has given us everything to me, you know, to have what we have here. It's a little bit of the best of both worlds. To have what we have in South Carolina. It's real special. Yeah. The place California is unique. It's the most unique place I've ever been in the world. The place is amazing. There's a real lack of community in the Bay Area because people from all over the world. It's just so busy. It's so busy, but they assemble from all over the world and what I call for the kill. There's deep, tremendous resources here and people come all over the place like they

would in New York City for those resources. And so people are not connected. They're busy. They're busy. They don't have any family here. They took the job and they're from India or they're from Asia or they're here in a work visa. People just aren't connected. And so we think there's a great opportunity for community, but it is not come easy. And then we get the fly back to a place where it's deep levels of community and long lasting relationships. And so we got these two worlds we travel into that are very different. But when we get those two staffs together, they blend like it's amazing. It's amazing. You wouldn't think, but it is so amazing. So we've had an odd life. We still have an odd calling and people ask us all the time, how do y'all do that? Y'all are flying back and forth and pastoring in two different worlds. I'm like, no, we don't. Two different planets. There's nothing hardly anything that they have in common, but with all the challenges

been the best. The DNA is the same. The same redemption DNA spirit. Let me go back to Steven Pertick. I had Steven Pertick come here on the week we launched. We called it red X. And we had been here. We got here in May. This was in August. So we kind of did our services. Then we had a launch in August. And he put his hand on my shoulder and he looked at me and said, it already feels like you. He said, how? He said, it already feels like redemption. So I agree with you. It is so different, but it is so same. And the spirit of it and the DNA of it. And now we just look at it as we got a whole lot bigger family living in two different locations. And I love it when the California people will fly to the wrong things. Yeah. Yeah, to the things we do there. And the Greenville people fly to California. And so many people, even from California, have moved to Greenville like when they were tired. You know, it's time to cash in their stocks and they're like, I'm going to Greenville.

And it's so cool to watch that happen. We bet several families do that. And I remember I was doing society with Chaz two weeks ago in Greenville. And I was saying, we're some of y'all here from how far did they drive? I went some drug two hours and some drug from Atlanta. One raised his hand. He said, I'm from San Jose. What are you doing? He said, I go to school here now. I'm it. He's from San Jose. He said, I own purpose. Chose a college that was close to the campus in Greenville. And that's something. And we had a couple that was elders. Just a college in Du West. Where did you go? Urskins. Yes. A teeny tiny little town. It's where my daddy used to always get caught speeding in. And that Hodges. Yes. Hodges South Carolina, something like that. Yeah. But I mean, it's stuff like that that's happening all the time. And there was another, I think, little Asian girl, herner mama. Moved to Greenville. Moved to Greenville. And then the Disuzas. Elders here. Indian couple. Indian couple that had moved there.

And then the blonde-headed lady here, this working-in-our-childer's master, her husband moved from Greenville here. Yes. It's crazy. It's crazy. So long and short of it, it is, look, it's just the life of running ho. It really is. And I told them, Sunday, I said, I don't tell y'all all of our stories because I think sometimes y'all think I make stuff up. But it's crazy the way God is working our life. And let me say this. Let me bring something spiritual to it. Out of all the mistakes and all the mess-ups and everything else, God is redeemed everything. He always does. And that's what I want to leave you with. Everything is redeemable. Everything is redeemed. The worst decision is redeemable. The biggest screw-ups of your life, I don't mean the speed bumps. I mean the burning it to the ground. To be the launching pad for your next season.

It's redeemable. And if there's anything we've learned out of the ashes, God can call us you to rise. If you will stand firm and you'll fate then what you believe. If you lose your heart, if you faint, no. But you will reap if you faint not. And one thing we did right is even when it was bad, we kept going. And because of that, we're now seeing some of our most fruitful days in Bishop Tutor, Bismarck said, between 55 and 65, y'all will have more fruit and ministry than the rest of your life combined. Pretty crazy. Anyway, take it home, baby. It's awesome. Well, this week, Friday night. Tomorrow night. No, today's Wednesday. The screw-ups on Thursday. Yeah, tomorrow night. Is our hope night here in San Jose. And the next week, the 18th, September the 18th, is hope night in Greenville, South Carolina.

So here's the thing. So back to back Friday night. And you're free in the California area. Come join us in next week in Greenville, South Carolina on September 18th. It's going to be an amazing time. We already have over a thousand women registered. It's free, but we just need to do that. It's a one night ladies revival. So one night ladies revival. We're going to have a blast. So I would love to see you there. We're going to get registered for LXP. And we got LXP coming up 23rd, 23rd of October. 23rd of October. And we're, I'm going to be honest with you, we only got like 100 spots left. And that's very unusual for this far out. This is for leaders. This is for pastors, pastors, leaders, team members, entrepreneurs. This isn't just I want to go to church all day on Friday. This is, this is next level. God's going to do something in my life. Get exposed me to what God's wanting to do with my, that, if you're that, if you want to be internally developed, then this is for you, whether it be secular or market, secular marketplace or ministry, it is a leadership gathering.

And I got some great people coming in from all over America to speak. And it's one day, it is no fee, but we need you to register because on the East Coast buildings a little smaller and seating is limited. So let us save your soup until next time. It's Ron and Hope unfiltered, real, raw and strong.
