The chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions is investigating reports that a union representing roughly 600,000 workers is pushing to advance the interests of the Cuban regime. The committee is demanding information from the International Association of Machinists (IAM) about its possible links to the Cuban government. A report claims that IAM has traveled to Cuba, taken policy positions aligned with the regime, and union members have been addressed by a Cuban diplomat at a local union hall.
