On today's episode, Dennis talks with Braintree Police Officer and K-9 Handler, Billy Cushing. Billy started his law enforcement career in corrections back in 2000-2005 and has now been with the Braintree Police Department for over 15 years. In 2010, Billy was selected into the Braintree K-9 unit, and since has been in 3 officer involved shootings. His most recent OIS was in June of 2021 where he was shot 5 times and unfortunately lost his dog Kitt in the fight. Billy tells his story of what happened that day and how it has changed his outlook on life forever, also the process of returning to work after surviving an OIS and how to take care of your mental health.
