3:11jupiter how many people actually went to the game today all right a few people then i mean it was fun there was a few things that jumped out of me number one Ronnie Mauricio was certainly not making this team if he was going to like do stuff to maybe change Carlos Mendoza's mind one thing you can't do is have a four pitch walk and then get picked off at first base so that's number one Ronnie Mauricio's chances of making the team got diminished because i think for him to have made the team and i had said this before he was going to have that like a big camp he was going to have to be like really impressive and that has not happened so four pitch walk pick off cannot occur number two here's the other thing that jumped out of me if you went to this game you saw boba chef playing third base and you saw brep baby playing first base and i said this to Pete while we were watching the game i said i want to see these guys tested i want to see if they make plays and boba shed had a routine ground ball the third base and it was like slow motion it was like all right i'm going to make this play i'm going to throw to first base and i'm not going to eff it up

6:19hoping the festival at 96 97 and we've heard about that over the last couple of days in weeks that the velocity on sangas fastballs have been up there and we saw that today because they've got it up at the board of jupiter i thought his command was pretty good you know we saw a little bit of the ghost fortball like he looked confident and obviously in spring training what you're looking for especially from a guy like sanga is to just get through this thing healthy and i thought in this start today he got through it healthy so that's a positive number two before the game i saw Carlos Mendosa said that sanga is good and open to pitching every fifth day well a couple things about that kodai sanga you best be open to whatever the hell they tell you to do but number two i've said this a lot about sanga we shouldn't be mad at him for pitching with extra days of rest we should be mad at the match they're the ones making the decision and they've made that decision because they believe that's how they're able to get the best out of him and the numbers don't lie like when he has extra rest he's better than the four or five games he's pitched on regular rest

7:22if the meds are willing to try that with kodai this year with a pitch among regular rest or four days rest i'm good with it but if he continues to struggle in that way then of course you've got to think about doing what's best for him because that's what's best for us but i continue to believe that with sanga and we saw manaya pitch on friday that they are best used as a tag team and you can come up with whatever cute nickname you want for that tag team that's the way to get the best out of sanga and manaya because manaya pitched on friday the game wasn't on tv if you happen to go there because you were in drooper for more than one day then you were able to see it wasn't bad the problem was his velocity was down now Mendez telling us it's okay he was throwing his cutter a lot nothing to be alarmed about he's going to get to make two or three more spring training starts i think that will be the kind of proof in the pudding but i stand here today or sit here today because i am actually sitting here from does beer garden still believing the best course of action for this rotation is to have sanga and manaya as a tag team what else do i have on my mind from

8:26this game oh my tockman tockman the sockman he hit a rope double in the sixth inning he continues to be the leader in the clubhouse not over Carson bench but over really mj melendez and even christian pache to get that last outfield spot now let me say this about pache that catch you made in center field that was unbelievable i don't know if you guys saw but it was a deep fly ball the right center field a picture of water who's better than you thank you and christian pache made this incredible running catch crashing into the wall in center field what i think about pache as i'd like to have him around the triple a you know just in case great class in case of emergency because he's still young and where it's possible maybe he puts it all together for us but he's hit a little bit in camp now he's mostly doing it against crappy pitching so i wouldn't go that nuts about it but he made a great running catch in this game that was very very impressive to see and how about your boy brep 80 two hits in this game you were pleased with that off including going opposite field on both of them

12:35hear from the people too much of me talking that's my biggest critique of the rico too much Evan Roberts anyhow the bullpen today we saw after kodai sang a jeffrey yen he's the kid who jumps up and down every time he gets an out it was very exciting because he came in and got two strikes on a hitter and we're all standing there hoping he strikes a batter out so that he can do his dance unfortunately he gave up a base hit and then got a comeback or to get the last out so we never saw jeffrey yen dance we saw Luis Garcia who's going to be a part of this bullpen pitch the scoreless we even saw luke weaver and let me get the luke weaver i like luke we all like luke he seems like a wonderful dude on the first pitch that luke weaver through for anyone to see it it was a little roller between first and the mound and breath eighties charging after it he's being very aggressive and luke weaver charges after it feels the baseball and then dives into first base and almost gets himself killed and i this is the one time of the game in which i got up and and

13:35yelled a little bit i'm not really a yeller when i go to mech games i'm very to myself i'm scoring the game i'm very calm you know 98% of the time but this actually caused me to scream at a spring training game and it was simply hey luke what's wrong with you why are you Jackson darting this thing into first base can you please be careful it's a spring training game and it was funny Carlos Mendoza came out of the dugout he glanced over like yeah are you okay do i need to come out and check on you luckily luke was okay it was a really good play and honestly if it's a regular season game i'll start my scorebook commemorating it but it was one of those unnecessary plays there was no reason for luke weaver to be diving into first base to make this play against that i'm trying to see who the batter was against victor stock so that jumped out of me but weaver through a very nice clean inning i'm excited to see if luke can be more like the guy from last year our two years ago with the Yankees as opposed to last year because you know we saw luke weaver

14:35up close to last two years and it was interesting with the Yankees last year he became their best reliever and he was awesome he became their closer and a guy that you know could pitch multiple litings which is really valuable get more than three outs last year after he got hurt when he came back he was a disaster so like with most bullpen on which luke weaver are we going to see is going to be a real determining factor on how good we are the other reliever we saw was Brooks Rayleigh and you almost forget how good Brooks was last year remember david stern's brought him back midway through the season he comes back and really outside of one bad game against the outlaw on a Friday night i don't know why that jumps out at me uh Brooks Rayleigh was so good for this team out of the bullpen we saw him in this game and he also pitched a relatively clean inning had a couple of strikeouts gave up a base hit but looked pretty good and then we saw jack wininger he was the guy who closed this game out we got the victory pitched the last three innings he's a prospect and i got to keep an eye on because hopefully it's not the case because it would mean there's injuries the jack wininger could be one of those young pitchers we see late in the year

15:37he pitched well and even got the final out that allowed me to get to the rico bronia on time because i needed to see the metsecure of victory and my wife kept saying it's four o'clock it's almost four o'clock it's almost four o'clock and i said i know but i got to see if jack wininger is going to get this final out but he looked good in this game as well and overalls the night's fun spring training game the meds play the eighties on sunday and we're going to see freddy paralta let me give a thought by about freddy paralta and then we'll get to the people if freddy paralta wants a seven or eight year contract i commend you good good for you and if you can get that in the open market that's fantastic but you must know better freddy you're not getting that from david sterence and steve comb so as much as we're all open to paralta signing an extension before he gets the free agency or even before this season starts when he said the other day i'd love to come back i'm really comfortable here it's great but i'd love a seven or eight year deal i laugh i spit my water out because all i drink these days is water that's not happening so if freddy
