In December 2001, Michael Peterson found his wife, Kathleen Peterson, at the bottom of the staircase in their Durham, North Carolina, home. Her body was found covered in blood and was thought to be a tragic accident. But as the evidence evolved it started to look like less of an accident and more of a homicide.
