All right, so what's going on on your side? What's going on on that side? No, no, no, no, no, no. So you're moving in a couple days. Is that a place where you think you can stay for a while or what? Yes. That's cool. That's cool. Is the price all right? It's a hundred bucks cheaper than here. Really? It's still more than I want to pay. Every place in that city is more than any human should pay, I'm sure. Even here, it's like that. Bunch of horse shit. I miss the days when you could get a room for under 600 bucks. Oh, yeah. I think my share of our apartment in Williamsburg was less than 600 bucks. I was 500 something, I think. But there's also blood on the wall in the hallway. There was some graffiti written on the wall right when you walked into the building right above the mailbox. I said, Holly, if you're sully for a dolly,
at least that's what it looked like, but I assume it meant, Hala, if you swallow for a dollar, which is a great thing to say. So I used to stand in the bottom of the hallway just big. I swallow for a dollar, but nobody ever responded. Yeah. So it was it was classy. I think I pulled something in my head. So I think I pulled something in my head. I mean, I don't know what I'm saying. I'm just like, I don't know what I'm saying. I'm just like, I don't know what I'm saying. I pulled something in my stomach like a muscle or something. What? How do you do that? So the new place that I have is up to flights of rickety old wooden stairs that definitely need to be fixed at some point.
And two days ago, I had to bring up my new bed frame. It's wooden. It was too heavy to bring up all at once in the box. I was taking it out bit by bit and it was so hot in that building. There was a couple of times where I thought I was going to pass out. But I brought up stuff slowly as I could until the box was light enough to bring up on its own. And did that. Did not feel great the next day. My body felt sore. So I decided, what should I do the next day? Carry up a brand new air conditioner up to flights of stairs by myself. And so I think when I initially lifted it, I think I pulled something in my stomach. All right. Yeah. So that's super. Oh, well, so wait. Is your stomach a muscle or do you mean like something near like your abdomen? Probably like right above the groin.
Yeah, okay. Yeah. But I'm also pooping a lot. So who knows? Well, maybe it was hold your butt hole. I mean, there's, you know, one of those pooping muscles. You know what I mean. Yeah, tonight my friend Lee, who was a side car driver, I've talked about him before. He was on an episode of zucchini boys once when we made a sourcrout cake, which was actually really good. And we put candy eyes all over it and named it Eric. That family has had such bad luck with health stuff. So tonight we're having a comedy show to benefit them. That's awesome. I saw that. Oh, you did see that. Okay. Yeah. So yeah, it should be fun. I haven't performed on stage in quite a while. But I guess I did all those Q&A's with Sam. I guess that counts, but I haven't done like my standard material on stage in quite some time. I only have to do eight or nine minutes, which means I'll probably, if I can freak out, get nervous and do 25.
Serk get off the stage. Yeah, I got like basically blacklisted at helium comedy club in Portland, because like the first day they were opened all of us Portland comics were like, yeah, let's go. You know, this is all before I got diagnosis of like horrible anxiety, horrible depression, severe edu, she whatever. So it makes more sense now, but I was just like nervous because I'm always nervous, especially at comedy clubs. I don't really like them. And this red lights going off. And I, if they had told me the rules, I didn't remember them. And they just blanked because I was freaking out. And so the lights blinking and I'm like, oh, does that mean I have time left? No. It meant I was like two minutes over. Oh. And they were like, yeah, you can't do this anymore. I'm like, okay. So anyways, I'm bad at that. So when I get nervous, I don't like, oh, God, I got to get off stage. I just like, I gotta stay up here. Cause once I leave, I'm back in the fucking world. This is my safe space. Well, yeah, and think about it. I actually do some material about this on stage. Okay. I'm on stage.
All right. We have a silent, unspoken, unconscious, almost agreement between myself and the audience that the things I have to say are more clever and funnier than the things anyone else in the room has to say. And so we're literally put me on a pedestal, even in a small club, you're still a little bit raised above the amount of stage, right? So you're literally putting me above you. So you can hear my thoughts. I get to say them in a microphone so that you can really hear them well. And if you say anything, I can get you through the fuck out. Right? So it's like my little fascist dreamland. And I don't want to leave it. Basically, that's what I say when I do it on stage and said, so it's not that I hate fascism. I just want it for my stuff. Yeah. Well, think about it. Everybody's at way because aren't there things that you wish you could just make the rest of the world do? Don't get me started. Yeah, just write there's a bunch.
Apply for a license to procrate. Right? And you have to take a driving test every fucking year. Yeah, that's not a bad idea. I yelled at some fucking dude. I don't know why people do this here, but a lot of the delivery guys on their e-bikes, they don't sit on the bike properly. They will have both of their feet either on the left or on the right side. You know, one foot just kind of hanging off in one foot on the pedal. The princess rides a horse in a movie. Exactly. With both feet on the same side? Yes. And today a guy was doing that head down looking at the phone that's attached to the front of the bike. Oh my god. He almost hit me until I screamed at him. Yo fucking dick, get off your goddamn phone watch there! Go away!
And then of course he said fuck you bitch. Cause you know, I'm in the wrong cause I have right of way in the light and he's pissed that he got called out. Yeah. But yeah. And look, you are a bitch, right? We all know that. You're a big mean bitch. But like, he should have said that. No, of course not. Like one of the nicest people I know. But, uh, you know, so when you pass away, if you pass away before me, which probably won't happen. But, uh, when you pass away, and if I'm still around, I'll say, yeah, she was one of the nicest people. Now everybody says that about someone when they die though, right? All the time. Everyone, no matter who it was, oh, the nicest guy. But you are really nice. You're nice to everybody and you don't really, you know, there's things that piss you off and you can be sassy to people. But I don't feel like you're mean like ever, you know. So, anyways. Uh, so just so you know, not that you'll care cause you'll be dead. But for anyone else, listen, when she had these dead and I say she was one of the nicest people I knew, I mean that shit. It's not just, you know, after life, fluffing a ghost like most people.
So, I think the only time I've ever heard. I really show it was. It was one of those like cold case files or something where they actually called the victim. Like she was an asshole. I wish I could remember what show that was. But I'll never forget it because like you just said, they always, oh, they were the nicest person. Oh, my God, they got along with everybody. Uh, they didn't have a bad thing to say about anyone. But this guy was like, yeah, she sucked. That's so funny. Like I appreciate that. Yeah. I appreciate people being honest. Even though probably got to put at the top of the suspect was. But, you know, what are you gonna do? You know who would be hard to suspect in the case of a murder? A little old lady. You never suspect.
Yeah, like serial killers. Never suspected thing real quiet kept in themselves, you know. Never the little old lady. Yeah. No, she's a little old lady. Yeah. Not granny. Well, I called her a granny when we were texting. But I don't think this character is a granny because her daughter was younger. You know, although the way this family acts, I would not be surprised if the daughter had kids because the family is very strange. Well, today it's still August, which means we're gonna talk about another movie with Massacre in the title in a weird family. But no, not a Texas chance of massacre movie. Uh, because of the Texas chance of massacre, there were a lot of other horror movies where they just slapped the word Massacre on it. And that was the case with the movie we're talking about today. So, uh, oh, hey, check it out. We're less than 20 minutes in. So, let's beat our own record possibly. Welcome to Earnful a Popcorn. Welcome. My name's Annie Sullivan. And I am Tiammi Wialyams.
Tiammi Williams. So, they slapped the word Massacre on a bunch of horror movies. So, this one was a shot in 1983 and called Mountain Top Motel. But nothing ever happened with it. And then in 1985 Roger Korman got a hold of it. Put the word Massacre on the end of it, made them reshoot the ending and then put it out. So, today we're talking about Mountain Top Motel Massacre from 1983 slash 1985. What was the other ending? Apparently it was just less gory when the villain dies. Oh. He was right because that's a great death scene. What can I say? Anyways, that's what we're going to talk about. And I only brought it up then because we were talking about unsuspecting murderers, which I guess this is sort of that, but they never say why she goes into the asylum the first time, did they? So, I was thinking about this last night after I watched it for a little bit.
So, dad is dead. Maybe she killed her husband. Yeah. And she was hearing voices and stuff. Yeah. Maybe. That makes sense. And that would explain why the daughter is like praying to the ghost of her dad to kill the mom or something, right? Yeah. At the beginning, so that would make sense. I have an apartment at MoTel Massacre and we don't have to go plot right plot point. This is easy, but I'll just kind of explain the whole thing right here. So, mount at MoTel Massacre is about this lady named Elvis, Elvis Jesus Christ. Yeah, it's easy. Let me just immediately fuck up. Anyways, mount at MoTel Massacre is about a lady named Evelyn, who runs a motel called mount at MoTel. And Evelyn was previously in an insane asylum. and she said we're thinking maybe it's because she killed her husband we don't know. But when the movie starts it's after that and everything's kind of crazy but so she accidentally kills a family member and then after that is even crazier and like she has a voice in her head
and that family member telling her to kill people and so guests randomly wind up here and she starts killing them and that's kind of that's the whole movie right that's the whole movie. Yep and we're done have a great rest of your day. Well there is stuff to talk about with this movie. Yeah especially the first 10-20 minutes. How did you find the beginning of it versus the rest of the movie? I thought that the rest of the movie did not really live up to the potential of the first 15-20 minutes. Yeah it is kind of a slow burn after that I totally agree with that and when I had told you I hadn't seen this before when I had picked it and then it was her killing the guinea pig that triggered the memory because I used to have a guinea pig named Fred named after Fred Krueger when I was
probably that girl's age so I went oh shit no I do remember this because I got pissed about her doing that. It's really fucked up in the beginning. Yeah it's disturbing and that starts with this lady Evelyn Gardening outside of her motel and she's using a little scythe to garden like cabbage and stuff and I don't quite know I mean obviously we all know why she has a scythe movie wise so that she can use it later but as far as its application for gardening I'm not sure and now bino gerbil pops up and she starts yelling like Laurie why do your critters is here and she's like super afraid of it which is weird and it's already like this is kind of weird and you know the music's weird and it's creepy right yeah and then it shows the daughter she has a room in the motel it shows her daughter in there and it's like okay yeah it's just like did it almost feel like
somebody was watching her the way it was shot yeah totally yeah while she's like putting the ribbon on her little bunny rabbit it was just very eerie and I didn't know what was going to happen like yeah but also excuse me Evelyn why didn't you just get off your ass walk to Laurie's room and tell her to come out and get the damn guinea pig yeah I mean hello she waited like how many minutes yeah that's crazy so what what an asshole yeah totally and then when the daughter's in a room it's she's like singing and humming and I said you can't go wrong with creepy children singing and you know they showed the albino hamster and the mom's yelling then they cut inside and they showed the girl and she has a bunny I was immediately worried about the bunny in meeting umum same same the girls all these animals around and then it's cutting back to the mom having a problem with this gerbil trying to shoot them away and stuff and then the girl's like praying to a picture
of her dad and basically saying like I think mama's getting sick again um I think she's basically praying for the ghost for dad to like kill the mom or intervene somehow and make her go away right yeah that's what I think too yeah she's like mama told me I can't talk about it or she'll hurt me like she'll do something to me and that's not cool yikes yikes yeah although given the lighting and decorating in that girl's room I don't know if she's the best authority on who's sick or not because she's clearly fucking bananas yeah like she's also off her rocker she well she's trying to summon the ghosts of her father to kill her mother so and she has all these animals around she has like a raven in there too right some kind of bird and a goat umum what the fuck it's very weird and this is a probably good place for me to bring this up so 1983 is when they shot this and this beginning at least has a really good horribly creepy vibe kind of grimy and sleazy
and disturbing and a lot of horror movies in the late 70s early 80s were good at that uh maniac hmm yep I don't even ever seen the very very low budget movie criminally insane oh no from San Francisco but it's about this obese woman who went to the estate asylum gets out starts eating again and kills people who judges are for it nice yeah it's kind of awesome I like it's hot spa anyways uh so those two um even some of Frank Hanon lotters early movies even though they're crazy sci-fi movies like a you basket case uh brain damage you know those still have a really good sleazy New York vibe to but in all these cases especially maniac it's also kind of artsy and so this kind of had this like artful feel to it where there was kind of a deeper more thoughtful thing and I think it kind of lost that as a movie went on but this beginning is so fucking weird and so unsettling and it drew me in but also a meter there was like oh my god you know what I mean yeah when you texted me like
that beginning was something yeah that's all I said right and that's before I knew you'd seen it already but you that was also before you knew you'd seen it already uh yeah but so the kids like Brandon and that and it's like weird lighting and I don't know it's just very very creepy and then we cut to the mom and she's still mad about this gerbil so I think we all know where this is going she picks up the site and slashes at it we don't really see anything happen we just see blood right yeah she's just fucking piss it she's doing this shit and she just kind of starts destroying everything god now that I think about this this lady kind of reminds me of my mom oh my god that's not good weird weird weird way hmm it kind of looks like her too I don't have the right paperwork to dive into that too far with you yeah now I'll have to send a picture of my mom to you and you'll go oh oh really because they have the same hair whoa and kind of the same wrinkles and
lines in the same places you're gonna freak out when I send you a photo later oh geez um but okay so you meant she physically reminds you of her not the way she's behaving oh well also that yeah okay yeah okay so did you ever have a pet goat that you've never told me about I mean but you had a pet gerbil name Fred well I had a guinea pig oh guinea pig I'm sorry and this is a hamster gerbil guinea pig I think it's a guinea pig it's a guinea pig but I love that you've said gerbil and hamster yeah let me you said everything but guinea pig I love it so much yeah no I mean my mom got me one for my 12th birthday and I had him for like four or five years he lived a long time yeah I don't know it's just the reason why I say she reminded me of my mom one because she looks like her as I said and two is because like she would do crazy ass shit like I would go to school and come home and she would just fucking destroy my room yeah well I was gone like she didn't like
the posters I had in the wall she didn't like the clothes I'd wear and she like just take everything down rip it up and she throw it in the garbage that's crazy I'm sorry that happened horrible uh what poster didn't she like did you have that one affair faucet we can totally see her nip and out my dad probably would have stolen that classic I had pictures of corn and limpisket and sound garden and she hated the Maryland man some posters for a split second I thought you meant just corn not the band the pictures of cooking your corn like that's weird which wouldn't be too weird because we lived at that time in the middle of cornfields and tobacco fields same here it only takes me three minutes to go see a cornfield you know what I mean and I can go in several directions for that so be funny if I had like a room painted up like one or something yeah like she had he said she kills the guinea pig but then goes on a tear and she's mad that the daughter wasn't listening to her but
also yes she goes inside and sees the daughter was doing some ritual and is like I told you not to do that and stuff and so she starts knocking everything over then she starts killing all the animals that are there she kills the bunny she cuts the goats head off and that's obviously a fake goat but it was still enjoyable because it's a real goat but then when she cuts the head off it's clearly a fake goat did you notice that yeah and she's had some fucking manic episode man yeah for sure and she kills the bird and then she accidentally well that she acts she she doesn't accidentally kill her daughter right or she did I guess I don't know she waves her sight around and then the kids dead basically yeah I think she got this kind of weird blindness about what she's doing like probably has a fog over her eyes and she obviously didn't mean to kill her right and then realize oh shit in my manic state I've killed my fucking daughter holy shit but yeah you know now that you're saying that maybe she did do it on purpose because of what she does next like use it as
an excuse to go kill people well she tries to say it's an accident yeah she lies about it covers yeah yeah yeah so oh she was in the garden yeah and even like first of all why are you using that tool the garden like I said so too what gardening accident it's gonna slice your daughter's throat like what is what do you do it and why did you drag her body all the way from the garden into the kitchen and stay there like that that doesn't make any sense right but also we're dealing with someone who's got major mental issues so I guess her alibi powers are now very strong you know or lie or whatever you want to call powers but when the girl was trying to sound of the data was like oh maybe this will be a prequel to ghost dead but it was not but I did write down once she kills the daughter I said this movie goes hard at the gate like she's killing pets she kills her daughter holy fucking shit you know me falls to the wall be me yeah and then we
cut some like they're in the kitchen dead body if there's this guy there who I first thought was the dad because he kind of looks like the dad he does right were you confused um no I was like he looks like him but then he started doing the the cross yeah and I went oh he's a preacher I was like where does fucking preacher come from all said right well I'm sure that he's staying there and so we follow kind of the sheriff character for a little bit so he goes inside and meets Evelyn he's immediately suspicious of the whole thing which who would be but like Shandy said she's not even good at making up a story so then the other guy who's there tells her now to be a man of the cloth and he goes up to meet the sheriff and hi my name is Reverend Bill McWillie now I was like that is a fucking name Bill McWillie Bill McWillie that's a good name
Reverend McWillie what the fuck and Billy Bill McWillie's there I mean fucking I'm calling him Billy McWillie because who I wouldn't you Billy McWillie is there because he's staying at the motel but now this motel is not one building it's a series of little cabins which I thought was cool yeah reminding me of Friday 13th like turn like campsite really cool campgrounds yes you've ever been to hold on let me I get asked my daughter hey Margaret can you hear me what is the company that owns those campsites out by the hills that we stay at one you stay don't want your mom wants to there we go thank you KOA it's like this company they have little areas like that in different parts of the country KOA and I forget what it stands for camping of America but it's a case I don't know anyways but yeah so they'll have like an office and then these little cabins that you can rent so it's kind of like that but it's very cheap too seven dollars yeah and I don't know
hey I was only two in 1983 so I don't know but maybe that was not super cheap then but it seems crazy cheap obviously be insane nowadays if a hotel tried to charge me seven dollars I would not stay there no because that's telling yeah that's definitely so like you're a you're probably not making it out of there but also there's probably gonna be like all this a lot of gross things happening up in there you know so so yeah Reverend Bill McWillie introduces himself and that actress face has so many creases in it I guess high definition doesn't always do everybody a lot of good you know so oops but they keep going to the sheriff's face it he's immediately suspicious but also he's not asking enough questions I didn't think no there's just the sheriff the entire time like whenever he's on screen is so lackluster the character but then he ends up like closing up the cocktail lounge
and what a great opportunity to have him do some one liners I honestly can't think of a real need for the sheriff character to be there at all no the priest could have easily been the one who's suspicious and later on at the end of the movie the sheriff's confronting the murder someone else could be doing that too like there's a couple more characters still alive they could do it too you know yep but that thing is even when the originally made it they made it to cash in and then obviously Roger Corbin about it to make money because that's how he ran things which ended up making a lot of genre classics but also that's how he did things on the cheap maximum profit but that's what they're trying to do and so every slash or around then how to cop investigating okay fine we'll do that every horror movie really but it really doesn't need to be there and the other characters are interesting I thought oh I love them they're great yeah there's some cool characters yeah for sure uh Reverend Bill McWillie is awesome but yeah the sheriff just kind of it's clear that he
is suspicious of something but it's not they really do a lot with that I don't feel like but some which maybe you know is an acting thing too and I don't know like the woman who plays Evelyn does a good job she only had like one other movie credit but she did a lot of theater the guy that plays Reverend Billy McWillie kind of same story but a lot of these people might not have even been actors because it was shot low budget in Louisiana was it Shreveport where was it yes Shreveport so maybe just like troll two and they just had a casting call in the town I would not be surprised you know it's yeah sure the motel was a dilapidated and abandoned fishing camp near Shreveport and the interiors of the cabin said to be repainted and redressed prior to shooting the underground tunnels were filmed above ground in make shift sets that were built and covered by vis queen in order to keep the light out vis queen is a brand of polyethylene plastic sheeting low density so it can keep the light out oh it looked really good
I really thought they were filming underground yeah the tunnels looked good for sure yeah and this movie has a good look to it in general the cinematography is good and that goes back to when I was saying that late 70s early at his horror movies a lot of these movies even when they're on the cheap look good you know and there's good shots here there's some interesting close-ups and stuff like that and it's well lit and like I said it you it immediately scusied me out which is good I mean just me like hey like it's just very unsettling you know what I mean so I mean similar to maniac in maniac you are immediately put off by that dude oh my god yeah I mean that actor no one in this movie is even gonna touch that guy Joe uh I can't remember his name but he's amazing anyways uh he's got father come at but they're setting things up to be kind of interesting and another interesting touch is then they cut to the funeral for the little girl and so Reverend Billy McQuilly is given the sermon whatever but they do this cool thing where
they cut around to the different people at the funeral and everybody has like a whispered inner monologue of like she did and she's fucking crazy I know that's Evelyn though that's Evelyn's mind oh it's Evelyn thinking that's what they're thinking yeah that's Evelyn's like thoughts of what everyone's thinking of her yeah okay so she thinks they're all thinking okay the voices and that is uh that's anxiety you know and uh I mean shipman so I get that I don't know if I'd ever kill anybody but I definitely get going around thinking everybody's judging you even though they probably don't even give two shits you know so um but either way it's an interesting touch to have this sad funeral and have that being whispered over it you know you know what I think we can interpret it both ways sure because if everybody in the town kind of already like knows that she was in a mental hospital yeah up until this point even the Reverend says I thought I was the only one here who the hell would even want to come up here and stay it's like I think
everybody in that little town is just like that's the crazy lady that owns the motel and so yeah they probably are thinking that like yeah she probably did it she probably killed her husband too yeah and that to me is like good writing it's like it could be both ways yeah it either way makes sense yeah so uh and Reverend Billing McWillie later tells the character the reason he's staying there is because it's cheap and he kind of references that being a preacher doesn't pay well it's like did that ever pay well I don't know and of course you know it I know it shandy knew it everybody knew it when he gets back to his hotel room after the funeral he has a little bottle of booze I knew that wasn't gonna happen oh crow oh god we'll get to that in just a second too because Jesus Christ the combination there anyway so if there was a priest in your hormone venies not drinking what the fuck is the matter with you you know well I or they have to be like super duper religious like the ones in the exorcist or something but who cares because shandy doesn't even like the exorcist so I
even bring it up but so he's staying in a room and then even though everybody's saying like no one ever stays here now we get into a run of many many people coming to the motel to stay here all of a sudden everybody wants to go there yeah I think the little girl is somehow conjuring all these people to come here because no one ever stays there it's just her and the Reverend and now all in the same night you have three more almost was four more rooms full of people yeah so yeah and I think this is a revenge film yeah it's all is her going yeah I want everyone to know that she is crazy because look look what she's gonna do if I bring people here it's gonna blow up her anxiety of like why are all these people fucking coming here you know what reminds me of Texas chainsaw massacre yes when all the people start arriving at the house and he's going up to the window looking at like why the fuck are all these people here freaking out yeah all of a sudden yeah sure
so reminding me of that when I had that thought I went okay I like this movie a lot more than I thought yeah it's definitely interesting mm-hmm this section as we said the middle part where they said everything up is way too long and slow yeah but there's a lot of interesting stuff in it yeah so you got Reverend Bill McWillie and he's drinking and then another tenant shows up another great name Melvin Crenshaw Melvin and older black dude and the actor at least at the beginning keeps glancing into the camera on accident and did you notice that yeah she puts him in the cabin right next to Billy McWillie and they immediately become friends melvin's hanging out with Billy in his room and he's like hey you know what is there to eat around here and Reverend Billy McWillie goes we don't need to go there we got everything we need here old crow and Vienna sausages those things are so gross have you ever had one I had one and they're gross
they're gross you know they market them as baby food or at least they used to what yeah dude okay you know Gerber famous baby food company you know so there's all the mushed up stuff peas and beets whatever when they're getting closer like one and a half or two and they're grabbing their own food and stuff they had these tiny little sausages they're basically Vienna sausages I know it's fucking weird I can't remember if I got my daughter some or not but either way you know no parents perfect uh so but Melvin seems fine with this he's like oh yeah like he's into it so I fucking love these guys oh and do you remember how melvin describes his job no I forget what he says about his job I'm a gentleman carpenter oh what's it all right you got it you got it when he's asking him about being a preacher and everything because if the kingdom of heaven is in my heart then where's the kingdom of hell and I went in your bottle hello I think I said that too outlaw but it right but then you know I actually
like that line because Billy's answer to that is that's in your heart too and that's actually kind of a deep interesting line like yeah yeah whether you believe in heaven and hell or not like that's where really all the decisions lie within yourself and really your own paradise or your own tortures within yourself too are you gonna be okay with yourself your decisions are you gonna be tortured by your own decisions it's kind of how I see that you know so that was interesting I think personally that both those guys but especially melvin don't have to worry about in inner hell because melvin turns out to be a good guy and he's trying to help everybody yep and he narrowly avoids the same fate as a black character from Friday the 13th part five because he gets off the toilet before anything bad happens so anyways but well when that happens I went well the reason why I thought the king of heaven might be in your butthole is because thankfully he had to take a shit otherwise he wouldn't have seen he want to notice that there's a trapdoor in every bathroom called necked and underground by tunnels
and we don't really know that till later but they do keep cutting back to Evelyn in some sort of weird kind of alter room where the daughter was and she's also praying I think she's praying to her daughter or something but so melvin pretzels great Reverend Billy McNeely and then that's we need a married couple who I don't know their marriage seems immediately to be kind of not good even though they got married that day like he's telling her to like shut up and stuff and he's like man that she didn't notice his driving when he like nearly avoids hitting something and like turns a car out like what the fuck oh yeah the white dog yeah which I took as like that dog is like what's in most movies is like there's always some crazy guy being like don't come here like you need to turn around this isn't for you up here yeah listen mm mm even though they literally turned the car around avoiding the dog yeah they still didn't listen
and so she's like freaking out and she didn't like the idea of this motel they're staying out and stuff and she ends up being really really you're right about that but yeah and then we meet two girls singing in a red Volkswagen and my first thought was I forget their names it's uh I think they're the only ones I didn't write their names down well one is like not like pussy or filly or something like that what is it pressy and tanya the people call tanya and I hate that I've always thought that name is tanya yeah me too tanya like okay and yeah it's we're saying everybody in this movie Southern so they all have good accents and saying tanya come on tanya like I guess it does make sense in a way but anyways uh so they're singing in a red Volkswagen and I was like man they would really love hanging out with Reggie and uh Jody from Phantasm like the first Phantasm where they're sitting on the porch singing a song oh yeah like these girls had similar vibe and in Phantasm they finish up and Reggie's like yeah we're hot as love you know like they could be a
good band together because they're going to go be famous singers somewhere but I think they're headed to Nashville or something and then we got Al to the first thing I wrote down about Al was there's no way a car phone dude makes it so make it out what you want but uh Al is like a cheesy 80s dude with a mustache and he's got a car phone and it starts raining and the girls uh crash their Volkswagen or something right forget what happens to their car but anyways their cars broke down or something you know somebody's car is gonna break down it's a movie uh also because it's a movie both women have white t-shirt song with no bras underneath and it's raining and it's like okay movie all right it was so it was funny it was very unnecessary you know yeah I went ooh you sure it's a nips they actually didn't have any nudity in this movie I mean I guess that
sort of counts but yeah they don't think they really had any else no but so then of course Al the car phone guy sees them and he picks them up and man is he ever quick on the draw with lying yeah did you immediately not believe him yeah yeah who but he says he's with Columbia records and then he represents uh Barbara Mandrilla and all these people and they're like oh my god he's like yeah can we audition for you yeah let's go get a motel you can audition all night not as gross as old crow and Vienna sausages but it's up there so scuzzy so scuzzy yeah yeah he's just such a he's a piece of shit but like the other characters there's a little more two in my think than that so we'll get there so all these people start getting to the motel and they all have to meet Evelyn and the fact that none of them immediately leave after meeting
Evelyn uh kind of puts them all in suspect and I'm like what is wrong with you guys because she's fucking nuts like even just talking to you right it's like so dark because I think when Al gets there the power's gone out and he notices the spider web on her he tries to help take it off and she's like yeah cuz she's been she been down the tunnels doing shit when they keep cut to her like doing weird shit in this room it kind of being as more or obvious that it's underground or basement or a tunnel or something and as everybody's showing up like kind of right when everybody's getting settled in she starts fucking with them and the first thing she does is she gets a snake and puts it in a bag and so then you have the merry couple getting ready to have their wedding night meaning hits cans yo knock them boots right um and the cowboy the cowboy that well yeah the husband is all he's all denim and he's just an idiot as often happens in movies like this like why is this woman married to him i'm so horny i can't stand it yeah which is great uh he's not as
depressed about it as uh christmine gloveers character for five in the thirteenth part four god i'm horny but um yeah this guy's more just like well because he also knows it's about to happen so it's fine yeah yeah it's a pretty good but so they have the door locked in everything and yet we see a bag let us snake out under the door and uh this snake like the woman goes into the bathroom to freshen up or whatever is she in the shower so there's a reason she doesn't notice that someone is under the floor of the bathroom and lets us snake him because she's put on like some lingering yeah because she wants to have like a romantic evening and he just wants to get it on right she's like no this is my wedding night like i want this to be special yeah we're not dressed up we're in a truck we're in a shitty motel can i at least have this it looks like it's our wedding night yeah all the red flags good god man yeah this guy oh terrible like what did you say you're like why
did you fucking marry this guy yeah cuz it's like okay it's their wedding night you're gonna go to the seven dollar shitty motel this obviously run by a crazy person come on cuz like I said everything she says she's like there's two of you in there and they kind of hint at this fact that she doesn't like the idea that they're gonna have sex and to this one we've also seen Evelyn here some voices but now it's her daughter's voice that's right and you said earlier that you think maybe the daughter was somehow drawing these people to the motel and you know at the end we see the daughter like walking through a field so it's like is there actually some corporeal form of the daughter who is behind all this like a ghost or zombie i don't know baby it kind of pushes that idea tiny bit doesn't it yeah yeah so it's interesting i mean it could just be a crazy lady killing people i don't know but i don't know if she's trying to kill people at first she's just kind of a lunatic like he like a prankster i don't know but she sneaks this snake into the married couple's
room and while the lady is getting ready you know in the bathroom it bites the dude on the face and this actor i kind of wonder all the other actors get some more cooler stuff to do and this actor had to be like oh yeah or we what i'm gonna do i'm gonna fight the monster i'm gonna have a sexy one i'm gonna do it's like well you're gonna drive a truck and then you're gonna kind of lay around the rest of the movie oh okay the snake bite gets bigger which is cool yeah it's gross yeah and he has a cool kill too i think yes he does so at least he gets that yeah we don't always see the kills so much but we see the gore right after and they're really good there's some really cool gore one of the women gets cut in the face i think it's the wife that cut in her face is awesome oh so good uh but anyways yeah and that's coming up obviously but that really gets the snake in there and it bites the guy and so they're freaking out so they're trying to call help well this tree has fallen and also as she had he mentioned earlier the
sheriff's at the bar right now so they can't get a hold of him and that's right when Alan these two girls show up and so they're like help us help us and you know everybody's nearby in a cabin so Alan's like okay i've got a car phone we'll call for help because at that point the motels phones are out hmm which Evelyn probably did on purpose hmm right oh i didn't think about that yeah probably i mean we see a tree falling it's raining so it could just be that but uh or that's the daughter the daughter's doing it yeah ghost daughter or something whatever the hell's happening but yes so uh Evelyn has more bags of more animals and so then she sneaks in a Reverend Billy McWillie's room and let's lose some rats they're kind of gross and they don't really accomplish much but he doesn't like it no and that's what i find kind of interesting is that it's like all her daughter's critters is what i'm assuming is what she's using she uses the snake for the married couple that she does rats did you have any kind of like thought about why she was
choosing critters that don't really do a lot of damage there's kind of like anoints and think that was the word i was trying to think of i don't know because then the third thing she doesn't get about Chicago which isn't put them in Melvin's room yeah no spiders no like yeah the snake is poisonous yeah but even the guy says he thinks he's feeling better so i don't know and she's getting like voices saying like they know you're crazy in her head and stuff too to kind of make them more like threats but when the rats go into a Reverend Billy McWillie's room they also possibly are drinking his whiskey because it's built on the floor so i don't know what they're doing then Melvin gets roaches in his room that she puts in there and so they're both like grossed out and then they find out that this guy's been bit by snake and having an issue so they're like we got to get out of here and that's all kind of with them meanwhile al is trying to help the buddy also really wants to fuck these girls and he's lying to them about running Columbia records and one thing he tells them oh yeah we're gonna get you to Nashville we're gonna get you recording i got the A team the A team is gonna
play your music and this was when the show the A team was on some like his mr. T somehow involved with these women before they kind of start making out she's like well can we do our audition for you he's fucking sitting in the bed shirtless in underwear yeah doing the audition and then were they singing a gospel song or a hem or something well i think it's in my mind same thing they were singing some sort of churchy thing yeah okay because they said they have performed it some like country festivals so i'm assuming they were singing kind of gospel music yeah okay you know like a brother or a thoo kind of music you know um kind of southern gospely stuff and he says that a few times like yay you can audition all night it's like oh god what is this mic's apartment come on you get that reference yeah okay aren't these girls cousins yeah they say they're cousins and he goes like yeah you look like cousins what the fuck does that mean i don't look like by cousins i have cousins who are adopted from Korea so cousins does not indicate you look like you
yeah very very odd response yeah what so very crazy yeah but i'm also like uh you're like trying to get on with like two people that are related and definitely younger than you yeah also you're lying to them yeah and prissy is like this guy's fucking lying and tanny's like you never know all it costs is one roll in the hay okay so you're gonna fuck this guy even though you know he might be lying just to find out and you're gonna leave her cousin in the bathroom while you do it what a fucking weirdo yeah tanny's decision making process is bad yeah i don't like her she uh i kind of like her but she's like uh she's like immediately decides yeah let's go sleep with this dude and then she's immediately like nah fuck you cousin we're not gonna do this together anymore mm-hmm it's like she's really jumping a lot of conclusions very quickly yeah and then when she kind of starts making out with him i think she starts to feel kind of weird and guilty about
it because she's like you know what i need to go check on my cousin yeah this is kind of like whack what i'm doing to her but what's more whack is that while prissy's in the bathroom Evelyn comes out and wax her with the scythin kielser you know sometimes i set it up for you you know sometimes yeah it's like pipin and jordan uh now we're not that good at anything sorry i didn't mean to infer that we know what we're doing but she starts hookin up with al and then goes to check our pussy and it's like well wait a minute what the hell's going on like why she not coming out and she starts getting concerned and then they see blood everywhere but Evelyn has taken the body mm-hmm she's she's strong holy shit yes and actually when i was in screenwriting class i wrote a short screenplay for short film about an old woman murderer and at one point i have her
like need help to get up the stairs but then later on she's like hacking up bodies and carrying the bags of body parts out to the garbage and a big criticism from my instructor was like well you know you have one scene you have her week and then you have her hail and hearty enough to dispose of this dead body it's like yeah you know so but they never do that with Evelyn showing she's capable of slaughter uh you know i have no doubt that she can do this shit so but like i said there's kind of too much kind of between all these people and then she's sneaking out of the floorboards freaking everybody out with the animals and then she kills this girl pussy because now the voice is like they know you're crazy you gotta kill them so they just go in the bathroom there's blood everywhere they don't know where she went so once that's happening and Tann is upset that's when i was like oh by the way i have something to tell you i do not work for Columbia records it's like man does this guy know when to bring things up or what yeah that's funny because i wrote that down too i was like wow at least you're being honest yeah well and that's
like okay well he was honest about it but she also kind of starts liking him which i'm like i don't know man i don't know if he deserves that now but like i said then later on he gets honest so it's like okay all right so they're gonna kind of go round up everybody else to get help but they're kind of going between each other's cabins but they're all kind of on the same page here we got to the fuck out of here but we should maybe wait for the sheriff and we can't get out of here because there's a tree across the road now so what do we do you know and melvin like wants to leave yeah and he wants to leave and he's like billy let's go and billy's like okay i'll be right with him so melvin goes back to his place to get ready to go well then that's when Evelyn claims for second victim so she stabs Reverend billy willy which is too bad in the tummy right yeah in the tummy and then i think cuts the throat too oh she always cuts the throat hmm i feel like she sure does yep i was too bad because i like that character even though his dress shirt was see through i
didn't like the one he was wearing that we were dress shirt as a fat dude who's had to wear white dress shirts before you i'd be careful because then it'll just appear orange because your pink flabby flesh is visible beneath it so be careful but yeah so he's dead melvin doesn't know that but as melvin says because they're getting ready to leave right they're gonna take off the melvin's truck so as melvin says the truck ain't got no crapper so he has to go to the bathroom first that's great at first like i said i was like oh no another black horror character dying on the toilet yeah no it was worried for him at first because i was like everything that she's doing is just pretty diabolical like she's fucking with them to kind of disorient them a little bit then she goes in for the kill the rats and the roaches are to distract them yeah and she goes after the drunk guy and the scared girl first it's like you know the weaklings first yeah when he sat down i went oh no he's gonna go with like his pants down that's not cool man
and there's not even someone singing to him oh baby oh the one of the girls could have i guess the singing girls can you do it again because it cut out a little bit and i like when you sing this song fucking amazing i know it's funny as i hear it in your voice now oh good uh i think i'm glad about that i don't know uh but melvin doesn't need any distracting girl friend this guy's on it so he notices the floor move because she has a tunnel system connecting to every room but every entrance is in the bathroom which makes a lot of sense at night sneak out because they're gonna be in bed they won't be in there um anyways but he sees the thing open and there's no panic really there's no like oh my god what do i do now i don't know why he has his toolbox in the bathroom but he's a carpenter so he's got tools around so as soon as he sees that door open he's like nope and he just grabs a hammer nail and nails it's shut good move it's a good move
fuck that yeah like no fuck away i'm not dealing with this shit you kid me and so then he starts going on to everybody's rooms nailing the bathroom floor shut which is good because that's why i'm saying like he cared about everybody's like i got to go nail everybody else's bathroom floor shut yeah we got to trap her ass in there because then he's like i think it's the old lady yeah yeah he's the first one that suspicious of her yeah and at this point the guy bitten by the snake is still sick and his wife's with him and they don't really know what else is going on but he goes in there and nails their floor shut what he doesn't know i know they should have checked the bathroom why should i checked well he went in the bathroom and nailed the door but she was like in the closet or behind somewhere so melvin leaves and the wife closes the door and then you see a shadow of frizzy hair holding something behind her oh and this is a good face kill um-hmm again you don't really see much of the actual act of murdering
them but then when you see the body later it's got this awesome gross uh thing cut across her face and then the husband's still in bed with his snake bite even though he said he's feeling better and he's just like oh no basically and did they fight a little bit not really she just kills him yeah i think he tries but she's crazy strong for this little old lady yeah she's got some root strength yeah for sure she's got big anti-wilks energy right because anti-wilks is stronger than she looks too yep she kind of reminds me of the mom from friday 13th a little bit and she has the same mo she's taking him out one by one yeah at kind of a campground so and taking the bodies um-hmm like he does right and 25 years before they made the Jason remake she's got a tunnel system because remember I mentioned in the 2009 Jason remake they give Jason a tunnel system oh yeah there we go before Evelyn kills him she
goes aren't you a mess it's like well yeah you fucking poison him with a snake like you know you did this so you know also if you're gonna pick these people off I would not have put all their rooms next to each other yeah cuz they like hear it when other people are getting killed and stuff sometimes you know so yeah but people are getting killed pretty quickly at this point even though it took a while to get there and so now all we have left already is the sheriff sawed his way but at the motel we only have melvin the carpenter all the sleaze bag salesman and tanya that's it nope and I really enjoy that trio though I think it's an interesting group of survivors to have it really is and I like how my opinions of al have kind of switched at this point too where I went all right he's kind of like a scumbag but he fasted up when shit's hitting the fan which he didn't have to do right and now he's really trying to protect her he's like take my keys go to the fucking
get in the car and if I'm not there in five minutes get the fuck out of here yeah and he's uh being kind of brave you know but yeah before I kind of decided I like al better like when he's about to go with melvin to go find Evelyn and find the killer she gives them a good bye kiss it's like really but okay all right yeah now all right yeah whatever it's been um like you said it's been very brief yeah and people are complicated yeah yeah uh meanwhile the sheriff is still trying to get there from the snake bite call like an hour ago and I don't know about this sheriff because when he encounters the tree across the road he just fucking drives into it's it's a big tree too you don't see this tree across the road he drives into it and that's when he stops I think because he's hammered oh maybe he's hammered they don't really indicate that anyway otherwise though so when they're trying to contact the sheriff and they're like we can't get a hold of him we keep calling he's not answering is because he's at the fucking cocktail lounge and the waitress is like can you
go like I want to go home yeah she says give me your cup yeah get like fuck out of here go away I want to go home and um I was like oh so he's that bar fly when he's drinking on the job mm-hmm and probably hammered because he's like closing this place out so that's probably why he fucking yeah just runs oh no tree yeah there's a tree there dipshit and so he gets out and starts walking at least he still wants to go help took him long enough oh she says yeah and also this guy's had suspicions of her since the daughter got killed so when he's see there's trouble at mount top motel you'd think he'd be a little more like oh shit yeah but he doesn't seem super concerned because how many people have died in the time that yeah they try to get a hold of them let's see you got the merry couple he got prissy he got the reverend that's four people already and by the time he gets there there's another death he's to lose his damn job yeah I think so too but
so so melvin and l there were good little team uh melvin has his hammer always a good horror movie weapon and he gives ala crowbar from his toolbox and stuff and they go around and they nail shut all the doors and then leave one so they can like trapper that's a good move yeah yeah why not even though she's pretty strong I bet she could maybe punch her way out of a door when it was nailed shut but it's still a good plan and so they go down trying to get her and the idea is that one's gonna like chase her and then the other guy's gonna be at the other end to get her like when you try to like get like ground hogs out of the ground yes but she's real crafty yes she is speaking of crafts uh okay so she's got all these altars and stuff there's all these doll heads everywhere and luckily that's not in the hotel room so people can't see that until the end when the sheriff finds like the girl's bedroom he's like oh shit they're all crazy however the girls drawings are put up in several of the rooms mm-hmm and I don't care what the fuck else is going on if I checked into a motel room and saw
those drawings I'm like nope out yeah even if they're not creepy drawings and these are creepy drawings but even just the fact that the person owning the motels putting their daughters are at work in all the rooms that's fucking weird right yeah that's a sign for sure like don't stay here there's a few things everybody chooses to ignore because the room is only seven dollars so okay there is that shit man I mean I'll put up with a lot so only pay seven dollars I'm telling wake up with the fucking big ass roaches all over me yeah then I'm out that is when he decides to leave though to melvin's credit but also to melvin's credit really good death girl because I was so sad but I figured it was gonna happen so melvin at first doesn't want to go down into the tunnels right no and do you remember what he says no I was like we got to go down there in Trappery he's like you want me to go down there get my ass killed by some old crazy white woman and then I was like come on it's like hold on Al not wanting to use your ass killed by a
crazy white woman is a legitimate concern for a black man even when there's not literally an old crazy white woman around it's still legitimate concerns so come on I mean it happens so anyways yeah and then it literally happens he's right he gets his ass killed by a crazy all the white oops Al goes back in his room and tells a tania like we're gonna go do this I need you to go get him my car he puts her in the car he goes down to the tunnels because their plan was wait 30 seconds and it's been like a long time already melvin's like it's been 30 seconds where's Al and I was like yo melvin maybe put a watch in your toolbox buddy you know maybe a stopwatch because this is what the fuck is wrong with you and he pays a price for that he drops his hammer and he bends to pick it up and then it's when we see the Evelyn's been hiding in the corner of the tunnels and this is a good hand shop yeah it is and the music that's happening down there is really good to
I wrote that down that music is really solid oh we didn't talk about that the music throughout it is cool because it's got that really good again late 70s early 80s horror movies had this good five of weird creepy like Theraman and keyboard sounds and stuff but she cuts his hand off and I recorded melvin's scream you did because I thought it was great so yeah so let me know if we can hear this or if it's a muting it it's a good one it all sounds like a check in or rooster at the beginning of it no that is what I wrote down that's what I wrote down he sounds like a rooster oh it's weird that we both went there but I guess that means he really does sound like a rooster yeah whoa but it's a good one it's it's it's kind of sad and and scary but also funny you know it's a good one and she cuts his hand off and she really cuts his hand off and then she cuts him
across the throat and now melvin's dead but what's weird is that later on when other characters running through the tunnel his hand is still moving did you notice that no yeah why even after he's dead like and it's been a while so it's like what is this huh well I mean I think I know what it is someone involved in movies like hey I can make a hand move around and how to do that for cheap so I just do it they're like yeah just do it yeah because when you cut your hand off his do the fingers still moving there could be nerve-ending twitches and all that kind of stuff for rigor mortis of the kind of or something but like I don't think a while later especially after the body's dead I don't know but anyways melvin's dead and it's sad at this point the sheriff is almost a camp but then we cut to Tanya in the car who starts shouting for L okay first of all you know they have a plan hey also you know L is underground how the fuck would he ever hear you yelling
his name from inside of a car and aren't you supposed to like go yeah he told her to leave too and it's like what the hell's the matter with you she's just not good at this any of this she's good at singing that's about it bad at judgment calls she's bad at being a cousin she's bad at escaping murderers you know so and then she thinks she's about to get murdered because the sheriff comes up and here's something I wouldn't put in a horror movie anymore he's not coming on the window she's like oh are you and then he flashes his badge and she's like oh okay now do you don't do that anymore then you still might get your ass shot yep but yeah so then she's like oh the sheriff's here so then she leads the sheriff into one of the rooms and oh yeah into her room she's like look what they did to my cousin well and it's just blood so she's not really sure what they did yet but she's just a panicked mess the whole time so then she gets a sheriff down there and then we just stop seeing Al yeah I thought that was weird yeah and I have a
theory but we'll get there in a second but I'm not quite sure but I thought that maybe the sheriff and Al were gonna come around the corner together in the tunnels and one of them accidentally kills the other one oh that would have been great yeah instead of just not having a guy there for no good reason yeah but so yes then the sheriff finds Evelyn and they have a fight well they kind of have a fight she swings the sight that I mean just about gets him but gets it stuck uh-huh in a rafter of the ceiling of the tunnel and then she throws a pretty good haymaker for an old lady that's where he put your hands together and swinging as one big fist yeah she does that and she clocks his ass and he like is slow to react so she must have hit her pretty good yeah she's a beast yeah so she knocks him on his ass and then when she starts to pull the sight well she pulled a little too hard because the sheriff doesn't do anything right no no how do they think it gets up so she pulls the sight out and it causes a collapse in the ceiling there and the rafter swings
out at her and pushes the sight into her throat which is awesome so good he goes over to her to like look at her and she does the quintessential I'm not dead scream back at his face but then yeah she's dead yeah I mean her head's almost all the way off yeah and that's what they reshot they reshot to do that part because apparently her original death wasn't as exciting and that's a cool death right yeah I don't know what the original was but this must be better and it's cool and I'm thinking the actor who played Al was no longer available because he did it like two years later but he does say a line after that so maybe they got him to do that I don't know but so Evelyn's dead so the sheriff goes back up and Tan is like oh my god everybody else is dead but then Al shows up and he's like hey I hit my head when I heard a gunshot he like knocked himself out I guess but I guess what a lost opportunity yes you know plus you have this character start to redeem
himself after being a slime bag and instead of having him fully do that it's like oh no but he's still an idiot and just hit his head somewhere and missed all of the action yeah it would have been fun like you said to like the cop accidentally killed Al or vice versa or Evelyn actually got the cop and then gotten the fight without yeah I mean you have another character there do some some of them yeah or Evelyn kills them both and then somehow uh Tanja gets her shit together and actually kills her that'd be interesting yeah they're still enjoyable and you know I know if you're a good law enforcement officer it's a priority to get the survivors out safely okay but it's always funny to me in a horror movie when the cops leave like a mutilated villains dead body just kind of later because you know that the paramedics are ever showing there oh there's a headless old woman down here holy shit you know yeah we haven't called an apartment like we don't have anybody come into the scene nothing yeah I don't know they start to drive away and they're all
inside his cop car so they kind of drive off but they find all the dead bodies in the tunnel mm-hmm so she dragged him all the way down there yeah man yeah what her fitness routine was but jeez I laughed when they were driving away because they pan out and then there's just to the left in the bottom there's like a half of a baby doll yeah that's just sitting in the mud yeah and oh shit what's gonna happen and then there's Laurie yeah what the murdered daughter by the way I don't know if we ever said her name was Laurie but the murder daughter is there what's but you know especially around this time in history there are so many slasers mm-hmm because of our 13th and Halloween we're big successes and a couple other ones and yeah yeah so there's a lot of these and I think this one has some interesting stuff that sets out a part I think most of the interesting stuff is that first part that it's just very very crazy leading up to her killing her daughter yep but what did you think ultimately I liked it like you said that first
the like first 10 minutes is just fucking wild yeah but yeah I do like my idea of that it's the little girl trying to get revenge back on mom and she's the one bringing all the people to the cabin yeah that's an interesting take on for sure and that's why she's standing there at the end she's like yep see my mom is crazy yeah kill my dad she killed me she killed all these people she's crazy yeah and I'm gonna hang out here with Melvin's ghost and I think some good double features would be well several of the films that I've mentioned criminally in sand would be a great double feature maniac motel hell fucking love that movie misery obviously even the shining could be interesting because again you got a hotel you got parents after their children kind of stuff you know so or just watch support after it whatever you want to do just suggesting some double features so yeah and I like this movie too because it doesn't really explain stuff right your imagination can
just wander and try to like figure out what's going on and put your spin on things and I like movies like that a lot you know it doesn't answer the questions for you questions like there's albino guinea pigs there are apparently and also what religion were they I've always I guess I'm wondering yeah and there was a lot of religion in this movie too there's the reverend there's the girl singing the song yeah there's mom is talking about Satan at the end when she stabs the reverend she's talking about Satan so yeah good call there's a lot of creepy drawings around as I mentioned and there's what I saw at some point that was like a drawing of like a pig person did you notice that yikes and then when the sheriff comes down to the total he sees it and I was like oh maybe Evelyn's just like a cap yeah so yeah but there we go about top motel massacre I feel like we
kind of rocketed through this but did you feel like we covered it I feel like we did I think so I will say though the cover for this movie does not give what this movie is at all where she's like peeking out from the door and it says please do not disturb Evelyn she already is right yeah that one doesn't really get the point across however have you seen the other poster for when it was just called mountaintop motel yeah that one's cool yeah where it's like a doll with the sight through its face and then an old woman's face appearing on the doll's torso yeah that's appropriate that's perfect yeah and I think you look at that like well this movie seems fucked up and that's the movie you get in the first 10 20 minutes and then it's like I was saying a little more of a traditional horror movie after that but that kind of creepy tone is what you get when the movie begins yeah I think that's maybe what they're going for and then you know it never happened
and so they had to kind of make some concessions to have Roger Korman put it out yeah but as we said the characters are kind of interesting good and maybe they don't always play out the potential to them but some of them feel like they get their day in court I feel like Melvin was used well and the the Reverend maybe could have done more but also he was a drunk fat guy like he wasn't runner ground he died in his room you know so what do you do what do you gonna do yeah I'd love to have that poster of the doll is fucking crazy I mean I would love the other poster too even though it's okay first of all what you just said no way I don't want that poster around I don't want to get that scary scary uh no no that I want to get it the hell out of here but um even though like we said it's not really indicative of the movie you're about to watch that other poster is great I would hang that up um all right well there you go folks but yeah definitely worth checking out like I said it's on uh physical media uh they did a blu-ray at some point and it's on streaming but
yeah fuck that so I mean that's how I watched it so I watched it free on YouTube yeah but I was actually surprised it was there for free because I feel like lately every time I go to watch a movie that's where I find it and then I have to pay for it yeah but I mean I have no problem with paying for that yeah that's what I think if it's not available watch it for free but otherwise I think we should be paying for movies you know so I have no problem with that I've gotten paid for people watching my things you know what I mean so yeah well thankfully on YouTube once you pay for it you pretty much have it it's just you know that's why I got rid of everything else because it was like oh pay this month's subscription yeah but then also pay 599 but also you only get it for 48 hours it's like no yeah it should always just be there available for me to watch once I buy it yeah but I guess that is kind of like how going to the movies was like when you go to blockbuster you don't own
the movie you have to keep going there and buying it every time if you want to watch it unless you buy the movie okay so yes you know you do have to go pay for it every time however that's the understood idea between both parties both yourself and blockbuster you know when you go in there that is a place you go to pay to rent a movie you go home watch it you bring it back okay when you are quote unquote buying something from a digital streaming service that's a fucking lie yeah and what you're buying quote unquote is a license to watch this movie and that license expires that is what people are finding out now you know but in the in the old days when you went to rent a movie everybody knew the social contract was well understood and simple and everybody abided by it you know I'm gonna rent a hug and Ninja Turtles again okay fine here's the movie again and make sure you bring it back again on time or you'll get a late feed again it's like okay
fucking fine but the best way to obtain physical media back in the day was McDonald's do you remember like McDonald's or on Christmas would sell VHS movies what yeah dude they'll add a couple Wains World was one I think Adams family was out there yeah they had a few men they had a yeah during the annual holiday film festival promotions from 1992 through 1994 you could buy VHS taste for six dollars wow yeah so there's Adams family copies out there you can find a VHS with the McDonald's logo in the back nice also Wains World oh back to the future back to the future layme for time five will goes west Wains World field of dreams what a great thing hey I would like some chicken McNuggets and field of dreams please anyways and right now Shandie and I and another friend of ours are in the throes of happy meal madness because they have these toys
that are Hello Kitty characters dressed up as Godzilla characters so good and I keep fucking getting Hello Kitty as Godzilla between my daughter and I we got it three times I love that all three of us got that one and we're in different states yeah and we're in different sides of country and I'm in the middle and our friend who's very into it has pulled a lot of strings I think she already has all of them right but anyways that friend we won't name names yet but that friend will be a guest on this before the end of the year we think yeah talking about one of the movies that was mentioned today so there we go we're also going to have Sam Brown on I don't know what movie he wants to talk about but we'll figure it out because I came on and made the best episode his show yeah you did he can come on and make the best episode of our show besides X episode so anyway so I gotta go to make downloads and buy some movies so I guess we should wrap it up
and go back to 1994 but yeah thank you for listening thank you to Jordan Cooper for theme song thank you to Trevor Ligeret for making that awesome stop motion animation you see when you find these on YouTube and thank you to Shandy for doing pretty much all the other stuff like that and thank you to whoever the hell played that old lady already said Atlas something what was her name anyway she was great thank you to Anna Chapel who played Evelyn whatever no no thank you to Melvin Crenshaw the character and thank you to the actor who played him for looking in the camera a couple times because that said made me happy and thank you to me Williams for doing everything you do everything I do one thing it just takes a lot of time you do everything else well and you do it well and that's what's important oh thank you I was talking about production audio production with a friend of mine and you know my persona on stage whatever is like kind of
this like I definitely don't seem organized or professional you know I'm kind of all over the place right and so we're talking about that I said you know what my audio production work and my parenting are the only times in which someone would look at my life and be like yeah that guy knows what he's doing the rest would be like this guy's a fucking mess well there you go anyways what were you trying to say sorry oh I just realized I don't know if I can send you a photo my mom because I think she's blocked me and everything oh Jesus oh there yeah so there you go fun times I mean I guess at least she didn't kill you with a site when you're trying to someone a ghost to murder her so yeah whatever yeah thank goodness it's about the small things shandy there's always a silver lining okay I guess we'll leave
