今週から中国の春節が始まるのを祝して、取り上げるのは伝言ゲームを意味するChinese Whispers。
人から人へ伝えるメッセージが正確に伝わらない様子を表しますが、
職場で指示が正確に伝わっていない状態をChinese Whispersと言うのは時代遅れ。
そこで代わりに使いたいのが"There seems to be a disconnect"。
誰のせいにしているわけでもなく、中立的に聞こえます。
同時に覚えておきたいマインドセットが、部下への指示が正確に伝わっておらず期待外れなアウトプットをされたときは、自分にも非があるということ。
決して相手を感情的に責めてはいけません。
相手が分かるように的確な指示を出せなかったことに関して"I may not have been clear."と自分の責任を認められるリーダーでいましょう。
