But Kate O’Neill argues that the future is not binary. In fact, there are many futures that await us; it depends on how we look at it. That’s the premise of her book A Future So Bright: How Strategic Optimism and Meaningful Innovation Can Restore Humanity and Change the World.

We can’t assume that the future is a given, nor that we don’t have the power to change it. When we operate in the realm of reality, we can choose the world we leave to the next generation.
